I agree that talking shit about Ero himself is wrong, he seems like an alright dude.
That being said, he does deserve some criticism for how he handled the ETA's of chapter 4.

He also does deserve the benefit of being a new dev, but it can only go to a certain extent IMO. Since he's missed the March ETA he's had a really bad time at communicating with his patrons/fans and has put out multiple false promises.

If the release ends up being in May, patrons would've supported Ero for March and April expecting an update. Ero himself said the update would drop in those months and people paid expecting to get access to it, now they're getting kinda screwed over.

After Ero releases this next update he should go back to his old development cycle, concentrate on getting new hardware, understand his limitations(for example: he keeps mentioning having trouble with animations so he should probably reduce the amount he's doing due to the difficulties) and only release ETA's once he's a 100% sure for a release.

That's my advice for him, however I've got a bad feeling this game is gonna continue having these difficulties and it will stunt its growth. Hope this doesn't happen though and he's able to complete this VN.
I am unfortunately seeing the usual pattern here, promising work, dev genuinely working on embellishing the product, fails to set realistic goals and gets tangled into the perfectionism spiral, struggles or outright fails to met ETAs, the pressure is too much, even should they release something they'll still have lost many supporters trust, and that's where usually they take the easy way out by giving up.

It'd require a 180 turn of the workflow and putting pride aside by admitting he wasn't exactly the most transparent nor communicative, slowly rebuild the trust from the ground up for some updates, but that's the hard way.

The chaos on discord was actually just like 3-5 ppl going ham. Looks like chaos but in reality It's just the same few ppl who has been complaining about shit for months, some of them even before this chapter was in development.

When will you grow up and distinguish empty complaints from fair criticism?! The author of the game is rightly criticized. Or do you think that if you are being lied to, then this is in the order of things for you? You come to the store and want to buy a product, and they tell you it will be delivered tomorrow, the next day you go to the store happy for the goods you wanted to buy, because there is no one else, and oh, sadness, the goods were not brought and you are assigned a new date and so on, you will probably be happy and as calm as possible? Of course not, you will scream, it will annoy you as such, the liars are not carrying my goods, I paid for it! Therefore, it is necessary to distinguish healthy criticism from unhealthy.

yeah, this emotional attachment to devs or such as if they are our friends and gotta close an eye or both whenever they do something questionable, will not help you in the slightest nor them at all to improve and better (at worst though it can help them greatly on the profit side of things).

How much time does it take to do 10 renders?

Many (great) game creators are burned out (ICSTOR, LewdLab, and so).

It's no coincidence imo.

Daz 3d and technologies like that are maybe not the right way to build games. It's too time consuming. It's not scalable.

Depends on the quality of the render and their hardware. I know that atleast LewdLab has one computer for rendering and another that he can work on while that computer is busy rendering.

It's weekend. How about we all close our PCs / Laptops / MacBooks and go out for some fresh air.
Spend that subscription money on our local Clubs / Pubs / Restaurants.
Hell, we might actually meet the cute girl / woman / MILF of our dreams right there, in flesh and blood!!

See ya in a month.

I can't speak for others, but if I'm entering F95 looking for a pornographic 3D game it's because I don't have a good social life. :LOL::LOL::LOL:

Or maybe they just all realized that they get paid for doing nothing anyway. As long as there are no consequences, people will keep doing that
Sadly, creators like DrPinkCake, PhillyGames, NLT etc. that treat getting a good amount of money per month as a job are rare.

Yes maybe some creators get burned out, but definitely not as many as we have been seeing over the last few years. They probably all saw ICSTOR getting showered in money while doing nothing and claiming all kinds of sicknesses, so why not do the same...

So that do the have here? Ch.4 still not released, and Ero decided to choose dumpiest strategy for handling frustrated patrons - turn on silent mode and don't explain what's going on.:sneaky:(y)

What a nice way to ruin reputation(or that's left on it).

This is more like a guy tells you it will be delivered tomorrow but you refuse to leave and stay in the store asking him every 5 minutes:
"How much longer will it take?", "Are we there yet?"
So the frustrated store owner tells you anything just so you would shut the fuck up.

You have to understand that the other 99% of the people who do also enjoy this game are not at all concerned.
