I at least hope that in that scene you can see the care I took to do it justice.

Yes, I do mean painful. That entire scene was just that good, that well done.
Everything we'd experienced with Stella prior to that, helping her emotionally and physically (rescue, as well as the sex), and the clear attachment between her and Carli, made it so easy to get attached to her as a character.
As shocking as her death is, it was, in its own way, so beautifully done. Certainly brought an ambivalent smile of sadness and a touch of happiness to my face.
I don't think any other character besides Carli has been able to foster as much attachment from me before, at least not in many years. The fact that these are characters in what is basically a porn game, with a fantastic grasp of story telling and character development, is the truly incredible thing.
This is the kind of story and character writing that "AAA" games have been desperately missing for a long time.
Not characters and story designed to deliver a "message" or convey creator ideology, but has been crafted with love and passion for the story and characters.
Honestly, your talents would be right at home with the a pre-EA Bioware, or even Rockstar or CD Project Red!
