The RenPy version changed with version 17.1. Your saves will not ever work. This happens with every RenPy change. The old version of RenPy was very limited. Zatan was forced to make this change when they decided to go to Steam also. I had to do the same and start over, but I did not have a problem with restarting. The game was still just as fantastic as the first time. If you are starting again with 19.2, it will be even better than when I did it.

As others have said, it's really best to start over. A ton of early content was reworked when they did the Ren'Py version update that broke saves anyways, so you'll get to enjoy a much more refined early game experience.

is it when there is nothing left on the screen that shows there is something to do or is it "whenever"

not "sleep with" just sleep

When there's no missions left to do for the day. That is, you can't see "!" for the rest of the day, or a star if you're tracking any mission(s)..

Forgive my noob question here: who is the girl on the left side of the game banner? The one with bob hair and fringe holding a gun. I'm assuming she should be one of the prominent characters? She looks a little like Yunna, but definitely not her either.

I've played for nearly 16 hours and still haven't seen her. Did I miss out any optional quest or made some errors in choices earlier in the game? That would suck if that's the case...

That's a relief - I was worried that I might have done something stupid earlier and missed out on a big branch of the story. LOL.

Unzip this into the game folder and Ain will call you "daddy" regardless of what you set in the preferences.

To be fair, she's a fairly recent addition to the game so her content does take a bit to get to unless you're beelining the mutant quests. That's why she's featured so prominently, new toy syndrome.
