Et tu, Brutus ? What a remarkably funny Act 4... I laughed so much that I feel I owe Graphicus with a decent rating. Looking forward to more!
Thank you for that awesome review. We both appreciate that a lot. You did see Jessica in the casino. She's also one of the dancers at the club. Unless something really really really bad happens to T4bbo, she probably will never become a LI. I like the model a lot but it was also T4bbo's game 'Babysitters' that kind of inspired all this for me. I use her as something fun and a nod toward T4bbo. With all that T4bbo has gone through with his wife, I'm not comfortable using the Jessica character beyond just what I'm doing. I would love to make her a LI at some point(especially since she's only a secondary character in T4bbo's newer game), but we'll see. Part of it is also I absolutely hated how she was written after Burt Reynold's Mustache left that project. The new writer tried, but the character was written in a way that she was saying and doing things the character wouldn't have before the change. So when I brought her in on Day 1, it was to give a nod to T4bbo, but also kinda keep a resemblance of how she was written prior to T4bbo's writer change.

Btw, here is something you might want to consider when writing dialogues. The douche choices that make the girl super pissed transitions very abruptly into what I assume is the normal conversation you get on the good route. This is actually a common problem for MCs presented with good/evil choices where they start to feel very bipolar. In this game, the MC didn't have this problem up to the part I've played, but the female characters did due to the jarring shift in their disposition after the douchebag reaction was finished.

This is certainly not an easy thing to tackle. Maybe the simplest way to do it without adding more code to check for variables all the time or writing entirely different scripts would be to add a dialogue line or two at the end of the douchebag reaction that signifies them calming down a bit or something.

I tried doing that actually with extra scripts...the problem comes in with the opposite having that something is written and you want to mean one thing because you're building up to something else but it doesn't look right either way. It's something I've tried to balance. Code Guy has mentioned it to me a few times in certain places. Trying to get better at that.

I have a question for the ones who have played the new update.... when you opened up the game, you would see a different title screen.....I am curious what you guys thought of the art and if anyone opened up the game multiple times and realize different title screens loaded each time you open the game up? And also curious what you guys thought about the amount of content? I know from the start, I certainly wanted to make sure no one could say there wasn't much in an update. Just wondering if it's right on target, a little too much or if anyone thinks there should be a little more>(Code Guy will love that).

Thanks Guys

Not really very clear what the douchebag route is, if you use a walkthrough mod it simply highlights various options - does this avoid the evil route or is that why you should not use a walkthrough mod

What is the real aim of this game, is it to create a harem, find a romance of solve the crime element in the city
Also after each section - it would be nice to know what the max points really could be with each girl - I'm sure you can't get the 20 for anyone this early, am I right

what are the real aims/paths in this story, ie: to create a harem, to find a LI, or to end the crime element
also it would be real helpfull if we knew what the max points for each section/update per girl was, ie: Aubrey 14 after 4th section out of the 20 (meaning after 4th section the max with her is 14 love points)

It's best not to think too hard about the X / 20 thing right now. ReturnOfPoncho and I are working out exactly what we want to do with scores, but in general, we want them to in the long term determine content availability without ever getting so huge that a player can't redeem and/or beshit himself into going a different path.

As for the real aims of the story, you'd have to ask RoP - I just code and edit.

This is a gamers perspective on the points of discussion of late:

ON updates, yes, there should be a little more, because the ending of the 0.3 update where the antagonist got
everything handed to him, was violent, rude, antisocial, insipid - yet got his way with the contender and also got
a girl - while MC has to eat a lotta scripted bad mouthing 4 his past ignorance / rudeness,
could mean hopelessness. When you end the game, there should be something to look forward to,
not another shortcoming where the bad guy who is playing both his own bosses and his hired helpers
gets it all - that right there would be some failed game over - you tried, but Kelly won - HAHA!

On the different start screens, those are great to have, but make them maningful for the game.
Plugging your dev persona so hard in this game feels like it really overshoots the target
to give some agency to the players.
We understand you run the show, your renders, your beauties, your rock star life inside this game,
but man, gamers playing a looser a lotta gurls still think mean things of and having failed conversations all over the place, sure piles a lotta punches onto a dead horse of this MC trying to build a life and still failing miserably.

Women are easy going in this story, they know the meat head and the fur head who work 4 Kelly drool over them,
so they turn to the only option that satsfies their needs without risking rape - another women who would not
overpower them in a sex scene, would not hurt them, would not, in their mind, be able to humiliate them after.

So tell me why are all the women bi-sexual, not very real and way overblown
This is what we game 4 in controlling the MC:

Guide the main character as he explores a town he once knew all over again. Make new friends, meet beautiful women, and try to build a new life for yourself.
Are you a gentlemen, or just another scumbag, or maybe somewhere in between?

The backstory:
”After years spent out west working a thankless job and pursuing a nightmare girlfriend, our protagonist finds himself returning to his hometown at the invitation of an old friend. But once he arrives, almost nothing strikes him as familiar. The once small town has developed into a bustling city, and all his old friends seem to be caught up in shady new businesses and lifestyles. And beneath it all, the same unseen hand that chased him off in the first place seems to be alive and well all these years later...”

MC lost so many years of his life chasing a relationship that was never what he thought it was,
now is given a clean slate, but in a town he womanized and estranged a lotta gurls in the past.
Would you overcome all these demons of the past and use this second chance at life to live to the fullest?

I take a little issue with you saying failed conversations all over the place. That isn't true. Depending upon how you play it, you do get rewards. So I'm not sure exactly what you mean there so you may have to clarify on your end. I write this in perspective from a guy who has never had anything handed to me at all and was always met with the "bad guy" getting it all. That's just life, lol. It can be ruthless. I never setout to write this with the intent of rainbows and sunshine. If some pop in here and there, then so be it. I'm not of the belief that every story or game has to have a "happy ending" if you will. Not that I want it depressing or anything like that....it's a fine line. For me, as a gamer, it's more worthwhile to play the game I could potentially lose big at because when I come out the other end a winner, it's more gratifying. That is also my personality in real life. Again, I could be misunderstanding what you mean by the failed conversations bit.....so if I am, let me know.

As for the comment above about the women being bisexual that it seems to be much from BGR.....All of these women are based on people I know......and with the exception of my blood relatives, every woman I'm friends with is bisexual or bicurious. I spent my years from about 18 til I was about 35 or 36 in the strip clubs and involved in that industry in some manner. You would be surprised how many women are actually bi or at least have those tendencies who say they are "straight" or who guys think are straight.

GraphicusRex I tried your game for the very first time yesterday (after a long time. I have played the 0.1 in the past), and I really enjoyed it. For the first time, there's a game where all the characters have unique personalities and a life of their own, (especially the women), and it looks like the MC will actually have to fight for the people he wants in his life (which in my opinion makes the game more interesting than all those other games where there's no challenge or threat and everything is just handed to a dumb creepy MC with a 3rd arm for a dick).

Some of the areas where you have done exceptionally well:
+ Humour (I had a wild ride and I laughed a lot).
+ Unique models (I understand that you are still improving on this front, and your current renders are much better than when you had started out, and I see the quality going up as you proceed with the game. Leah is good example of that).
+ An actual plot with mystery, crime, and the danger of possibly losing your women and even your very life.
+ Interesting women with their own personalities, quirks, and open relationships.
+ Even antagonists have their own stories and erotic scenes. (Unlike what some people might say, this is not NTR. Its just people having their own lives. And there's also the excitement of stealing an antagonist's girl at some point in the future. So, keep doing these things. I am sure your intended audience will enjoy this).
+ The game has animated erotic scenes.
+ An MC who has some redeeming qualities and is not a total creep (although he does do some creeping now and then which could have been handled in a way that reflects his maturity and growth, as this guy is no longer a horny teenager).

Some areas where you may need to improve:
- Renders, especially erotic scenes. While you do have some unique camera angles which I appreciate, some scenes are just too obscure or the camera pans too fast. This is especially true with the antagonist sex scenes.
- Demon eyes and scary facial reactions. Half the time the girls look they want to throw up or vomit when the MC is trying to woo them. (Now, I am not a tech person, so I have no idea how difficult it is to pull off facial expressions in a game, so please take my feedback with a grain of salt).
- Karma points seem to do nothing (I know you too say this within the game, and it seems more like a inside joke at this point. But sometimes, I want the game to give me some choices where being a decent guy does not strip me from the chance to get laid. In my opinion, the game Sorcerer does this well.)
- We could use more insight into the MC's backstory (maybe some flashbacks) to flesh out his character more, and to make us care more about the guy that you have painstakingly developed.

PS: The current walkthrough mod is not perfect. It sometimes gives us the wrong choices and makes us miss scenes (with Joyce and the bartender girl).

Note: I am not a patron of this game (yet). So this is just my humble feedback as a fan. I understand that making a game is not an easy thing, and I am grateful to you for the chance to try this game out for free here. So, please take my feedback with a grain of salt, and forgive me if I sounded blunt or harsh anywhere (even though it is not my intention). I see potential in this game, and in you. Hence the message. :)

All in all, you have done a great job with this game. I sincerely hope that you get a lot of support from the international community, and this game continues to grow and thrive. Keep up the good work, and keep rocking! I look forward to more of the devil in your eyes! Stay safe! Cheers!

Thank you for that reply. I didn't think you were harsh at all. It was pretty constructive, which I appreciate. I'm glad you wrote because I've been wondering if there were anyone who played the initial release and didn't touch til about now. I know things were shaky when we first dropped the game. We've gone through and redid a lot....still some stuff I want to re-render.

The criticism you mentioned about the animation angles is very fair. We've been called out on that before, lol. Everyone at least has been very understanding on that front. Most of the time, the angles are the way they are to hide the part that isn't working well. Some of the animations are not built for every model, so there is quite a bit of going back through and editing. Some are easy, some not so much. Trying to get better on that end...if it's an animation I created from scratch, normally you see everything or I try to get in as much as I can. If I'm using something from renderotica, that's normally where some of the issues come into play. Normally each animation is like at least 200 frames, going back and editing one frame by frame isn't so bad as long as it isn't multiple things, but when you have quite a few animations and it's like 5 or 6 things per frame you have to edit, you tend to go down the path of least resistance. I've been learning though how to better use some of the assets from renderotica, so hopefully we'll be able to showoff more.

Thank you for the compliment with the humor. I often write what I think is funny and I know not everyone shares that sense of humor, lol. Glad there have been a few that appreciates that.

Anyways, thank you for the comments and hopefully we'll see more of you on the thread and maybe become a patron at some point :)

The game is pretty good in the movie like perspective of showing the 2 sides of the coin - Mc vs. Kelly.

That being said, the run down memmory lane hot rod ride till our new home is one harsh eye opener:
MC is a failed husband, a failed boyfriend, on top of what Kelly reveals he knows of MC,
the starting point is grim.

The dialogues I described as failed are in no way addresed at the script, it is just that most of the time
gurls 1st get intrigued, MC screws the pooch with his blabber mouth, then gurls might have a sudden
change of heart and actually redeem MC.

The talks with some of the gurls are stuck in the past, MC makes that 1st babe he meets in the bar sick with his
remembrance of her party days, then looses her completely.

Good save from the boss lady, who seems to have been interested in the unknown woman herself
until she heard of her deeds.

Not trying to get hung out on that though and it is kinda refreshing that during our time with some new ladies we meet, we can actually be better, start anew, look to improove and actually build something.

The problem with the bi that becomes obnoxious is just because of feeling that being a man is not enough sometimes,
that were we a gurl, she woulda hung out with us, but no, it has to be the lez who get some of the gurls we are
introduced to by the plot in this game.

This is shown to not be true though, as MC does get gurls for himself, so we gotta get past some hiccups
and aim to be with the babes that value our time with them, not just hunt 4 trophies like Kelly does.

I can understand what you mean now....you have to remember though, that first girl the MC "loses" at the bar when he remembered her party days......he has no shot with her anyways since she will not become a LI in the game, unless something happens to T4bbo or he just gets totally done with that character. He was the one who used her in 'Babysitters', I just use her now as a nod since I like the character and the game I found her in(plus I hated how the new writer wrote her when T4bbo switched writers).

I don't really think it starts out grim at all in the beginning and you're really the only one who has gone to that point. You may not like it, and that's cool. We all have our likes and dislikes. I mean, this notion that one has stuff just handed to them, it will never be my thing. Interactions are sometime struggles and we all fuck them up at times. Not each one is going to be perfect. Those things are what interests me more as a writer. The point with the MC is to build him up as he goes along. He was down and out and trying to start anew....but that doesn't mean it's going to be perfect and he doesn't screw up trying to shake his old ways. It's a process. Granted, me as a writer, I can probably do better at certain points which I am always trying to get better at.

Thank you for the comments.
