We knew his real name and were able to contact him outside of dev chats. We have been in touch with his family. I believe he also made a few arrangements for the event of his untimely passing after his hospital scare in 2018.
Patreon, unfortunately, requires proof of death, so until such a thing is passed on to them I doubt they will cancel his account. The best we can do right now is let remaining Patrons know to cancel their pledges and/or follow the new Patreon page.
It's good to know the money won't just be lost then. But as you said, it could take a while. I've pledged under the new Patreon already, although so far I've left my pledge on the Palmer page as well. Part of it is I'm curious to see what happens with the old page, but also if the money ends up going to his next of kin, then I'm not going to sweat a few extra charges.
We're unsure of what will happen to that, all we know is Patreon will shut down the page when proof of death is received. Thank you for supporting the new page, it really is appreciated!

This mc is so fucking dumb it makes me sick. His decision making is beyond idiotic. I hate ntr shit, but at this point it would not bother me if he got cucked. He deserves it.
It feels like it's ingrained into the fiber of these erotic games that the MC has to be colossally stupid and/or an asshole, but despite this still ends up with the women. I hate Dennis in this game, but I like the women enough where I'd like to see them do better than the MC. I just don't see a compelling reason, even with stuff that's been hinted in game, for any of them to want to be with him the way he is now.

Why am I frustrated over a goddamn porn game? It's just frustrating to see MC being this fucken self-absorbed, without thinking of others around them.
Do my frustrations stem from personal experiences? Mostly. I've seen people who are close to me dwell on things that they cannot change, falling into a deep depression. All I hear from them is "I should've done this" or "I wish I've done things differently" or "It's all my fault she cheated on me". Goddamit, Yes you should've done things differently but you can't alter the past. Tell the people who doubted you and wronged you to shove a massive horse cock up their asses and prove them wrong. But, he had to abuse fucken drugs and now he has nowhere to go. No one to love. No chances of fulfilling the dream of settling down and building a family. All because of a simple fucken heartbreak.
Anyway, I'm rambling on a porn board about the stupidity of others. Quarantine is taking me into places that I've never thought of being in. I'll be surprised if you read my incoherent ramble.

Later in the game the MC gets a little better, but he stays a wimpy asshole the whole time.
Palmer seems to have gone through the school of Japanese porn games, so he can't think up of any other kind of MC. I know a lot of people think he's a great writer, but this really points to weak writing, that his MC is so weak/stupid and yet somehow all the women are still attracted to him for unexplained reasons. I don't like cuck themes, but I actually tried to hook up Tamara with Dennis, but of course, there really was no path for her other than back to the MC. It was obviously a fake choice, a path predictably set up to make the player feel jealous.

But that's a phenomenon in pretty much every harem game here on F95. I don't know in which game a MC really had to make an effort to attract attention.
I agree with you, but the point I was making is that Palmer is supposed to be a good writer. He should be able to think up of better plot lines than that. But I guess we're comparing him to the average dev here, so he is definitely better than most on this site. I swear a lot of these devs are hormonal 12 year olds the way they write.

I think Palmer got exactly what he wanted for this game, MC being an "emotional rollercoaster" teenager who thinks he killed not only his parents but 10 other people.
I don't think that opening up a door in a 3 man ski-lift caused that avalanche.
Here is why I think this way.
1. The ski-lift that is pictured in the scene is one that you can not wear your skis in.
2. Open then door then get out and put on skis takes a lot of time for 3 people to do.
3. They had enough time to not only get out of the ski-lift and put on skis then they were able to out run the avalanche, the avalanche was already happening and coming down the hill is why they put on there skis to get out of there.
The fall of the ski-lift is what caused the avalanche and not opening up the door but the MC thinks he was the cause for the avalanche.
We will have to wait and see if EP 19 gets him out of his "emotional rollercoaster" state and do something about "shit for brains".

Um, dude, AW wrote DH and DFD (I think Palmer wrote PWU2 though), for DH and DFD Palmer was just the game designer and game director and maybe an assistant writer. Any issues with writing should probably be directed more towards AW than Palmer, though AW may have simply been following Palmer's vision for the characters, considering Palmer was the director, but I can't be sure about that and only AW can confirm it now that Palmer is gone, RIP, btw, but the one story that I'm sure Palmer himself wrote was actually pretty good.
Beyond that, tbh, DH is probably one of the better written western AVN series out there. AW is a decent writer, I wouldn't say he's particularly great but he's definitely not bad at all.
I apologize, I did not have the correct information about who did what. Admittedly, I've only been lightly perusing these threads so I don't have intricate details so I assumed (like an ass) that the writing was Palmer's since he's the more recognizable name to me. I've never played PWU2 so I can't really comment on Palmer's writing then. Therefore I am re-directing my previous comments from Palmer to AW.
I'd really love to see a game where we did have a well-written male MC that wasn't a complete ass. Sure, it's intentional in a lot of games, or the result of bad writing that they can't help. But with the writing talent they have in a game like this, they could have done so much better for the MC and really any male character in the game. Instead we ended up with an MC that consistently makes bad and hard to understand decisions and that doesn't really undergo any kind of growth during the game. They're basically not a likable person at all, yet every woman throws herself at him in a way that just isn't believable. I know the PTSD gets put out there as an excuse, but they didn't have to put it into the game in the first place. Or failing that, even if things don't end up that smoothly in real life, the character could have made some drastic strides against it during the course of the game. Instead, they just kind of wallow in their misery and drag us along for the ride. When you throw all of the other drama that is just thrown at the MC during this game, it's probably a miracle they can function at all. But that kind of thing doesn't really make for a sexy story that people can enjoy. In fact, the drama has ruined the mood for me at least once the game because erotic, intimate moments became all about the MC and his needs.

For clarification about who does what, think of the roles in Love-Joint as sort of analogous to a movie crew. AW is like the scriptwriter, Palmer was like the producer or director, Ricky is like an editor (in that he puts it all together cohesively in the end), Catnip & myself would be like art design/cinematography.
