Our pleasure. And of course you know if you ever have any questions, we're happy to answer them. Whether it's about the game, our process or anything beyond. Again, we were players before we were developers. We always had more appreciation for the developers who were giving lots of updates and keeping patrons informed than the ones we'd contribute to, and then hear nothing until it was time for an update. You never knew if the game was moving forward, had it stalled, just silence.I just wanted to say, as an aspiring writer, I really appreciate hearing about your process. It is both educational, when you bring up some aspect of writing I hadn't considered, and comforting, when I've wondered if I was the only one having x problem. Anyway, you know it's true, no other dev has been as approachable in these forums as you have, so thank you!
Have you published or made public any of your work? I'd love to check it out.Have the same issue too, the more people show interest in what I am working on, and the more the talk to me about it, the more inspired I am to work on it, and make it better.
Sumodeine, of My sister My Roommate is also quite nice to chat with, as well as some of the guys on the Amity Park project, like Moira.
I told you have a problem with typos. Thanks for the correction. There, fixed that for ya.![]()
I don't care how many times I've seen this video, it never gets old.The only time that makes sense is if you have a religious girl, who thinks thatYou must be registered to see the links, or something like that.
So far, all I have published is 1.3 Ranma Fanfics. The first one got interrupted by my partner and editor taking an extended leave, the other took me about 3-3.5 years to write ...my "short story" idea (600k+ words), but it is now complete. The first one was literally the first time I ever tried to write anything in a story format, so it took me a while to figure out what I was doing, the first few chapters are white literally terrible. I leave them to mark my own improvement. Plan to go back to the first one, I have about 25 more chapters planned for it, but I feel weird working on it without my partner and co-creator, so I started designing a few of these game ideas, though they are a long ways form being publishable.Have you published or made public any of your work? I'd love to check it out.
Haven't heard of the other two projects tough. Based on our what you know of our preferences, do you recommend we check them out?
I assume I am in the minority, but I generally turn the music down, if not off first thing in every game of every type. It's not so much that I mind it, but usually it's set WAY too loud for my system, and blows me out before I even get a chance to go into the options (Also, I have tinnitus, and have to have music playing all the time to drowned out the ringing in my ears, so I need it to stay uninterruptedQuestion to the community: What is your opinion on music in adult virtual novels? What about voice acting? Is there a demand for either? Just curious.
Probably gonna run a poll at a later date and get some feedback from the patrons as well. Just wondering what the community at large thinks.
I quite like a little music but I always turn it really low because it can distract me while I'm reading the text, I'm very easily distracted. If there's music I generally expect some subtle sound effects when it makes sense, hearing a door when the MC is being stealthy and it not being a problem within the narrative annoys me for example.Question to the community: What is your opinion on music in adult virtual novels? I usually turn down music. If you're gonna add music it has to put you in the mood.Question to the community: What is your opinion on music in adult virtual novels? What about voice acting? Is there a demand for either? Just curious.

I like both. When it's good\suitable of course. If i could choose one, i'd prefer some good bgm\sound effects though. Love it when it suits the scene. And contrary to the previous commenters, i pretty much never turn sound down\off in the games if it's not too loud. It even adds to my relaxation or immersion more, not distracts. Less sure about voice acting since sometimes it can pretty bad in the games of this kind. But when it's quality and sensual, then of course by all means. Overall, for me these both are always important parts of what can make the quality game even better. As for the demand, i'd say there are, but probably would be in big favor of just wanting music since many are just as unsure about voice actresses.Question to the community: What is your opinion on music in adult virtual novels? The DFD voice acting seems to be pretty high quality, I think I remember Kat's voice really went well with the character's appearance. I agree with @myuhinny in that it was annoying the way they implemented voiced sections in the free version to try and get more people over to premium though, it felt like a cheap shot. For RomanHume's benefit, do any of you here have an opinion on Daughter for Dessert's voice acting? They started doing that about the time I stopped following it, so I can't say how successful it's been.
Well, they all pretty much use music from the same sources. Royalty free, bensound etc. Not sure what you mean by standard. I agree about DA though. And personally, i also found selection of tracks inI like the music in context with the game likeYou must be registered to see the links. In games with standard music I reduce the volume to the minimum.
1. Music - I think this can really set a scene whether it be sexual, romantic, or atmosphere. Like some people have said it should start low before it comes in so as not to jar the player. like in movies and tv music can really set the mood and turn an okay scene into a fantastic scene. It's all about context. Renpy already gives an option to turn off music so you won't have to worry about that feature.Question to the community: What is your opinion on music in adult virtual novels?
