I don't really know what to say. If i already complete all stuff with mom, i forget about her and read stuff with daughter. I consider both routes as different worlds. Yes, i prefer younger male/older woman too and read this content first.
If so, you are far better at forgetting who these characters are than me. When I play through the F/D story, I know what's happening on the other route - because I played it and I'm more interested in that route.
That said, I also agree with berny; don't think adding more characters/options is a good idea. This game is already straining my ability to believe he can do it in a timely fashion with the two stories.
There is this rule of thumb in fiction writing, that varies per author but roughly goes something like this: Each character adds about 1000 words to the scene/story, each new location adds another 1000 words to the scene/story, and
each plot thread adds about 50% more to the complete length of the story. And this is mostly for short stories, longer stories can waffle a bit more about things at length.
It doesn't really apply straight into games or VN's because graphics and game mechanics (plus the lack of descriptions in VN's), but the point still stands. To give a character enough depth to be worth adding into a story, they will need several scenes, good number of dialogue lines, a plot of their own or two, and possibly a new location.
All of these add either writing/words, or graphical work into the game, usually both. Options are nice, but honestly single developers are much better off focusing on stories with as few characters as possible with tightly contained plot threads, or alternatively ignoring the story in favor of old fashioned porn. But I liked this game because it had at least decently written plot so far. So I don't think that latter option is viable.
Also, as a comparison, this post (excluding the quote) is 297 words long.
