What he should do is; have patrons get charged when an update is released instead of once every month. If he's that terrible with deadlines. I know its possible since some people already do that on patreon.
The July Dream is Over. No More Sleep
Long story short, it didn't come out today. You know that. I will be abstaining from sleep until it is complete, making tomorrow a worthy candidate for a second place medal -- granted I don't perform the same hilarious song and dance again.
There's little to be pardoned for this time around, with me leaping and screaming with a bleeding heart, voice and tone with absolute certainty of release. This is going to be a very "woe is me" kind of blog-posting, but you deserve to know everything about the game you've invested time, money and patience into, unfortunately provided by an orangutan that comically holds things together. I will now speak on behalf of said orangutan.
I apologize for the continual leaping, faffing and dancing around deadlines, pushing releases to the final hour of the final day to once again elude delivery. The lack of beefiness in earlier chapters was largely due to my job, spreading releases further apart with grade of content being a blind dart throw. In comparison, the antics surrounding the remaster was due to a complete underestimation on my part. You may remember that it was first just a couple weeks, then a few weeks, then a vague nonpublic estimation, then this final cry to raise the flag before the month's death.
For an explanation of that underestimation, I was tasked with producing roughly three months of content in one -- a reasonable undertaking since I was recently given the opportunity by you to work on Dual Family full-time. However, this has nothing to do with opportunity; in fact, it's the exact opposite. It all relies on the operator, breeding genuinely fascinating games and projects whilst simultaneous spawning rotten boils that thrive in stagnation and the flatline after making a few ten thousand dollars. While my intentions may have been pure, I still fall into the same category as the tumors due to the complete lack of structure or order in my process, punishing the ones who actually care about my silly, nothing "porn" game.
I want to propose something: How about I make a CONCRETE release date? How about I make a post about how the date is canceled because it's coming a week sooner? How about giving something to the people who PAY for something they know they could obtain for absolutely nothing? How about starting a conversation? How about listening to the people who love the premise ever so much but are continuously disappointed by developers who value money and complacency over the sheer potential of their child, of their creation? How about I work on my fucking game instead of writing an pompous wall of gibberish?
I want to fix this -- that being me. However, I cannot possibly do it without your brutal honesty, your guidance about what ideas are good, unappealing or simply a waste of time. Perhaps remastering early chapters of the game was a poor expense of time in how young it is in development. Regardless, I've spent hundreds of hours making this installment not just so you can hear me babble or show snippets of it, but for you to actually play.
Thank you for your unbreakable patience. I'll make it up to you, one way or another. How about with some Dual Family?

I reckon he spent 30 minutes writing that gigantic wall of flip-flopping, if not more.
You don't say? Especially when a ton of people specifically advised against doing a remaster in the first place, and just focusing on new content for a project that is as new as it is.
I wonder if he is going to waste his time remastering updates he puts out the previous month because he isn't satisfied with that? If you aren't satisfied with the work you did in the first place, make sure it gets done the way you want it the first time. If it takes you longer to put out the new update, then so be it, but at least you aren't wasting your time remastering things when you should probably be working on new content.
All in all, I am legitimately salty that I stayed up for this. Sue me.

It seems that the development is plagued with some other problems.
First he said he only needed to compress pictures and when he was done with that he needed to sort them out (whatever that means).
Compressing images only requires an automated batch conversion and copy/pasteing over the old ones.
Either he fucked up something for good or there are other issues at hand he's not discussing.

The exact reason I stopped putting money in his Patreon.
This guy needs a mature person around to slap him each time he gets an idea outside the frame of his game.
Always asking advises and comments and always not following any of them. Instead of working on his game he spent again an unholy time to write a wall of text to say I am sorry I am now working on my game instead of writing a wall of text. Why would he change?

Hmm... i see huge drama, and i somehow expected this to happen. In my opinion, he just don't need to do promises about release date in the first place. At least not like that. It's not the first time he make this mistake. With huge drama on patreon and forums after that. This excuses and walls of text not gonna work, it's just eating his time. People still gonna be extremely salty and unsatisfied.
Yeah, obviously he's "hiding" something. There is most probably tons of other serious problems that eating his time even more than compressing images. It's just can't be that extremely hard. "Complete lack of order and structure" may be culprit too. And of course "writing an pompous wall of gibberish".
It's not gonna solve any problems. Just abandon him and move on... If you all quit, it's not like this improve anything for the sake of the better game, or Gumdrop himself.

Nothing? Maybe extreme impatience? Not in my case, i can wait much more than that. This last post was kinda funny though.
Having just stumbled upon this thread practically by accident, I gotta say all this drama has me intrigued. All this passion to this project (both from impatient patrons and from the dev) tells me this project is probably interesting enough.
