I find it ludicrous how a lot of critics here compare this game with DMD. That game is incredibly crude and tacky, the daughter is basically a pet not a human, she behaves like a 10 years old even when masturbating the main character. It's just creepy. I would rather watch regular porn than play DMD anymore, and I feel like most people who like Dual Family like it because it fixes those ugly flaws in DMD, and delivers a far more atmospheric and subtle story.

It's ok to criticize Gumdropgames for his lack of content, but not for the quality of it. The game is far better written and more believable than the creepy mess that became DMD. Even the daughter in that game looks like a blow up doll. The friend looks like an elementary school girl, as if the creepiness wasn't already enough. The side characters all look and behave like bizarre caricatures (e.g. the random bad guy that resembles team rocket more than a human).

The scenes are incredibly forced: "hey look we just met with you on the beach let's have sex now", "hey did you know that my friend (talking about the second friend) who barely knows you wants to have sex with you too?", "hey we should sleep naked, nothing sexual though hehe xd", "hey we should just pretend to be a couple hehe xd", "hey let's lick our bodies and pretend it's a game nothing sexual again hehe xd", "let's have a bath naked while drinking alcohol and still pretend this is normal and not sexual xd", "let's just take photos almost naked with my coworker, just like that xd", etc.

It's super cringy, that's not how humans behave. The progression is through forced scenes that completely kill the mood. I would bet most people who like this game want the game to progress with believable dialogue, not bizarre scenes that happen spontaneously.

Even regarding renders this game is better, the lighting is far superior and the locations don't look like doll houses or outright abominations (like the beach scene).

I hope Gumdropgames doesn't listen to these people who like mediocrity and creepiness. I do hope he listens to the complaints about slow progress. Those do have some merits.

I know a lot are complaining about that, me being one of them, especially considering he said he upgraded his GPU and CPU. But there are also people pushing for this game to become more like DMD, as if that wouldn't be even worse.

I chose not to mention any game in my last post —mostly to avoid the risk of turning the thread into some kind of battle between fans of different games— but DMD was one of the titles I was thinking about. That game is exactly the kind of content I won't ever become interested in: disheartening hollow characters (the daughter might be one of the most stupid personalities I have ever come across in fiction) and some writing that I would label "childish" if I hadn't actually encountered texts penned by children that are far better. Maybe the team behind DMD is able to deliver on time, which is something to their credit, of course, but I would rather watch an Adam Sandler movie than play this game. And I think that is saying something.

That's why I really value a game like Dual Family; it really offers an alternative to this silliness: the situations are familiar but the treatment of both characters and scenes is, if not realistic, at least the closest it gets for an erotic game. This is why I do feel like providing constructive criticism: I really hope the creator can improve his work and get this game to the level it can achieve.

That being said, this update is still, in my view, hardly defensible due to the reasons already exposed. Let's hope he gives some serious (and urgent) thought to this and gets a move on.

I feel like the dev needs someone to help him stay focused. He has a decent VN full of potential but he seems scatter-brained in his attempted fulfilment of that potential. If he focused solely on developing the story then it would be so much better than his current product. The story is so good that it doesn't need gimicks like puzzles, customizations, etc.

Personally, I like DMD a lot, it tries to balance giving the people erotic content with the attempt not to just go from I love daddy to I want to fuck his brains out.
They do it a certain way, which reminds me more of the kind of characters you find in Japanese Visual Novels, not in Western porn and I can get that some think it's ridiculous. But again if you've played a lot of vns you kind of get used to those extremely naive but also extremely cute characters.

Now, as for the looks, personally I'm a boobs man, daughter's boobs in DMD are massive, especially for such a small woman, but they are not as humongous as in other games, they are still on a level I find enjoyable.
Generally I would like for some more diverse bust sizes as we have bit tits and flat chests, but very little in-between, apart from the other daughter on the beach and the singer.
But that's just taste and I think that is what some of you don'T realize. Whether you personally like something or not does not necessarily reflect the quality of it.

We haven't even arrived at real sexual interaction, just some groping and spying, we don't know how Gumdropgames will handle that. We can only guess at this point.

I feel confused....I get what seems like snippets of gameplay from the sons side. One moment I'm Going to the grocery store with mom, then im teaching my sister guitar and now i just chose my aunts name...now im on a plane checking out my cousing pussy, in a car with my dad? Da fuck is going on? none of this update made any sense to me.

just played the latest version and i have to agree, it just changes scenes all of a sudden, i can't understand what's going on, also imo it is progressing the story very slowly, nothing really happens in the game, i understand what the creator is trying to do establishing a background for all characters but at this rate it will take a serious number of updates to finish this game, so for now i will leave it be and get back on it if and when it's finished, it sure has a lot of potential that's for sure, also the female characters are gorgeous, well done to the creator.

I think a lot of the weirdness is because there was so much conversation between the father and son. The convention of never showing MC's face can work well, as in DMD, when there's only one MC. If there's more than one and the dev absolutely insists on maintaining that convention... you get this weirdness. It's especially notable in a game like this, which is relatively verbose, so we're seeing these extended scenes of dialogue pasted over two alternating images of, well, nothing in particular, where in normal dialogue we'd be seeing MC's interlocutor.

Agree with ~all that this was a very, very poor update. I'm sure it's not laziness, but the difficulties of telling different stories with differing branches using the same characters. I suspect the dev didn't realise how close to impossible that is to do well.

They do it a certain way, which reminds me more of the kind of characters you find in Japanese Visual Novels, not in Western porn and I can get that some think it's ridiculous. But again if you've played a lot of vns you kind of get used to those extremely naive but also extremely cute characters.

I'm not the one who goes to a DMD thread and complain that the game is not like Dual Family. Many people who like DMD seem to be doing just that in this thread. Hence why I replied. I would really dislike seeing Gumdropgames following that advice.

Regarding your point about the traps, you don't need the sexual interaction to see how much better the dialogue and writing in this game is. The process that leads to sexual encounters is as important to me as the act itself. That's why I like what Gumdropgames is doing, and why I can't stand DMD, the daughter is way too dumb and creepily childish in that game. It's like a toy.

I like women in these kind of games to resemble adult women with actual personalities of their own, like the daughter in this game not liking parties, being worried about college, picking the dress by herself, etc. Women who take the initiative instead of being passive individuals the player needs to interact with. Details like those at least show promise.

Firstly, as I explicitly state in my post: I don't want to turn this into a "battle" between games. That being said, comparisons did not start there but several pages before. In any case, I don't "bash" a game to defend the other; in fact, I have been very critical of Gundropgames' last update. I just expose why I am more interested in one, Dual Family, and thus try to offer criticism as opposite to another in which I am not remotely interested after having tried it. And I explain why. That's that.

Then, regarding what you say, I, for one, haven't talked about boob sizes or other physical features. I am not basing my view on any of that despite the fact that I also have my personal tastes —for what is worth, I like voluptuous women, especially MILFs, so Dual Family's mother just hits the spot for me—. I am talking about writing, the way the story is developed and the scenes and characters handled. That's what, to me, makes the difference and why I don't even need to reach the most sexually charged parts to know that Dual Family is my kind of game while DMD will never be. I can be more aroused just by having one spying, changing or shower scene, if the characters are compelling enough and the story has been correctly built in order to reach that point, than with all the massages, gropings, or even sexual intercourse of a game with characters that are barely more than puppets with the personality of a rubber plant.

If you are using old saves, you have to start a new game, press ctrl to advance quickly. There is a fixed version in page 59 if you don't want to do that.

Regarding the "teleport", that is just like that, there is no shopping scene with the mom.

Here we got one guy making a game, and people go nutts because he doesn't deliver "enough" content. Still, we got no idea what he been working with related to the game that is not story content. Those that like the game, they like the renders, they like the story. Give him breathing room to do what he does, and if you in a rush to rubb your knob there is other things you can do that too.

I guess the sore point is that you don't pledge like let's say 20€ or something and get a monthly update, but you "have" to pay this sum on a monthly basis. If it would be a one-time thing there would probably be less outrage over the updates.

Don't know about merging, it would destroy a lot of the appeal of the game.

What he could do though, is to alternate development from month to month. Focus one month on father only, then on son, and so on.
