I completely agree with zalook. I chose not to mention any game in my last post —mostly to avoid the risk of turning the thread into some kind of battle between fans of different games— but DMD was one of the titles I was thinking about. That game is exactly the kind of content I won't ever become interested in: disheartening hollow characters (the daughter might be one of the most stupid personalities I have ever come across in fiction) and some writing that I would label "childish" if I hadn't actually encountered texts penned by children that are far better. Maybe the team behind DMD is able to deliver on time, which is something to their credit, of course, but I would rather watch an Adam Sandler movie than play this game. And I think that is saying something.
That's why I really value a game like Dual Family; it really offers an alternative to this silliness: the situations are familiar but the treatment of both characters and scenes is, if not realistic, at least the closest it gets for an erotic game. This is why I do feel like providing constructive criticism: I really hope the creator can improve his work and get this game to the level it can achieve.
That being said, this update is still, in my view, hardly defensible due to the reasons already exposed. Let's hope he gives some serious (and urgent) thought to this and gets a move on.
I find it ludicrous how a lot of critics here compare this game with DMD. That game is incredibly crude and tacky, the daughter is basically a pet not a human, she behaves like a 10 years old even when masturbating the main character. It's just creepy. I would rather watch regular porn than play DMD anymore, and I feel like most people who like Dual Family like it because it fixes those ugly flaws in DMD, and delivers a far more atmospheric and subtle story.
It's ok to criticize Gumdropgames for his lack of content, but not for the quality of it. The game is far better written and more believable than the creepy mess that became DMD. Even the daughter in that game looks like a blow up doll. The friend looks like an elementary school girl, as if the creepiness wasn't already enough. The side characters all look and behave like bizarre caricatures (e.g. the random bad guy that resembles team rocket more than a human).
The scenes are incredibly forced: "hey look we just met with you on the beach let's have sex now", "hey did you know that my friend (talking about the second friend) who barely knows you wants to have sex with you too?", "hey we should sleep naked, nothing sexual though hehe xd", "hey we should just pretend to be a couple hehe xd", "hey let's lick our bodies and pretend it's a game nothing sexual again hehe xd", "let's have a bath naked while drinking alcohol and still pretend this is normal and not sexual xd", "let's just take photos almost naked with my coworker, just like that xd", etc.
It's super cringy, that's not how humans behave. The progression is through forced scenes that completely kill the mood. I would bet most people who like this game want the game to progress with believable dialogue, not bizarre scenes that happen spontaneously.
Even regarding renders this game is better, the lighting is far superior and the locations don't look like doll houses or outright abominations (like the beach scene).
I hope Gumdropgames doesn't listen to these people who like mediocrity and creepiness. I do hope he listens to the complaints about slow progress. Those do have some merits.

Personally, I like DMD a lot, it tries to balance giving the people erotic content with the attempt not to just go from I love daddy to I want to fuck his brains out.
They do it a certain way, which reminds me more of the kind of characters you find in Japanese Visual Novels, not in Western porn and I can get that some think it's ridiculous. But again if you've played a lot of vns you kind of get used to those extremely naive but also extremely cute characters.
Now, as for the looks, personally I'm a boobs man, daughter's boobs in DMD are massive, especially for such a small woman, but they are not as humongous as in other games, they are still on a level I find enjoyable.
Generally I would like for some more diverse bust sizes as we have bit tits and flat chests, but very little in-between, apart from the other daughter on the beach and the singer.
But that's just taste and I think that is what some of you don'T realize. Whether you personally like something or not does not necessarily reflect the quality of it.
Just one last point. You write about how Dual Family avoids those traps, but we aren't even at that stage, so how would you even know?
We haven't even arrived at real sexual interaction, just some groping and spying, we don't know how Gumdropgames will handle that. We can only guess at this point.
In general I find it kind of strange to bash one game in a thread about another game to defend the latter.
