I can't believe some people here are ONCE AGAIN falling for obvious lies. By the way, his new lies contradict the previous lies, how come this doesn't wake people up?
This guy is a scammer, there is nothing being done and he won't do anything in the future either. This is abandoned for real, it only exists as a scamming scheme. Stop being attached to a scam.
I predicted what happened more than a year ago, before the Abandoned tag. There are no excuses for people to keep falling for this today. By the way, I also predicted, weeks ago, that he would "announce" a release date a few months from now. This isn't hard, I just happen to have done my research about this scam and the evidence leaves no room for doubt. This evidence sits on top of all the ridiculous, accumulated lies like the countless bullshit excuses and fake deadlines, or claiming he literally had 25 GPUs (in 2020 those GPUs can't even run minecraft
), a "team" of people that he was forced to admit vanished earlier this year, an "office" where he trained people (I guess like a call center for other scammers ?), etc.
There are other people here who understand how ludicrous it is to believe that anything is being done or will be done by this scammer. And anyone who understands what is going on can successfully predict what he will do; it's only those who are still attached to what is a blatant scam the ones who act surprised every single time he comes up with new excuses or "announcements".
Also I'm fairly convinced that the scammer depended on other people to make the already quite poor old game, people who have long left, hence his utter incompetence even when making "previews". The scammer has no skills. This wasn't hard to notice either, that's why he has to commission people to produce the scamming material. He has no skills and no ideas, only getting money from naive people who don't realize that what they originally supported is no longer there, and that the person now behind it never had the skills to continue it, so a scam was born.
You want to do something? report it on Patreon for violating guidelines on incest (his own page and the game script has plenty of evidence) and rape (the game contains 2 rape scenes). That would very likely work past a certain volume of reports. Nothing bothered people who used to defend the scammer here more than when I told others to report this scam based on actual facts. Search "incest" and "rape"
If you want to undermine the scam, do that. If you don't, it's your right too, but don't act surprised that the scam continues.

And the last leg that anyone was using to stand on to defend this farce is gone. Well and truly smashed out from beneath them. 3 years ago this would of been an unpopular decision but from a creative standpoint maybe understandable. Now it just reeks of duplicity and makes these last 2 and a half years look even more of a con. Mind you, anyone who is still an active supporter/patron of this scammer deserves no sympathy whatsoever.

This is the best news I've got today. If this doesn't make the mods remove this thread entirely, I don't know what will. Like how can anyone with a brain continue to give this piece of shit money?
Best part of his post was when he explains he hasn't been working on DF this whole time. And we're just supposed to forget all the lying then? All the bullshit release dates and "progress" reports? And a Holiday 2020 release for Part X is clearly not happening. So he just finds a new lie to string people along for another 2 years with nothing to show for their money.
Is there a tag for "Scam Artist" to warn off potential donors?
How is it that no one realises that its most likely GD using an alt account?

Applause to Gumdrop!! He is a sinkhole of humanity who will end in the 8th circle of Damnation one day but what he did in his new annoucement is simply great boldness! A new bigger lie (A remake) and openly admitting that he did nothing for years and everything he said during this time were lies!
And the best thing is he believes his supporters will keep on following him! Anybody still following him now can at least be sure that he/she is immune to headshots, because if you still believe in Scamdrop now, there is nothing in your head what could be hit.
Alternately, as had been rumoured more than once over time, this might be more shady than just a grand scam. The whole thing was already an oddball of development, where far better devs have to fight to keep patrons and gumdrop had hundreds sucking up his lies.That was already really strange and contrary to normal.
