The creator is working on a big update but the game is more of a side project, there's a discord and he drops by to update us here from time to time

I'm not trying to throw shade I think what Dungeon Gaming has done is super cool, but haven't people offered to pick up the game where he left off? I guess I'm confused why it's all on his shoulders because I'm well aware how life can distract from certain projects, and take up time. Wouldn't it be possible for someone to pick up the slack and complete the game, or give us the update that's been promised for two years. I'm sure there's many capable people who would be more than happy to continue with this idea.
Maybe probably, but by that point it'd create multiple stories branching off from what he's trying and wanting to do which makes future development a touch awkward and the fanbase divided between multiple projects which in and of themselves don't have any real quality control to them.
Unless he can introduce a mod page or the likes at the main menu to make it easier to separate the "main story" and the "community scenarios" or the likes; that would work and keep the main game in place, potential version differences between mod and game aside.

Can't say i remember people wanting to pick up the game but it's been a long time as you said so maybe it was mentioned.
It's all on "his shoulders" because it's his game and he wants to bring it where he wants it. But as part of the testing crew (and trying to work on the slave pack creation and organization on the discord), i can affirm you that the game is progressing forward.
I would like to also mention that nothing is stopping anyone to give a try at making a similar game. I think i remember the dev telling that he wanted to make a game like this because there were none similar, and hoping it would make more people interested in the genre. If anyone wanna give it a go, please do. We're seriously lacking similar games and i would personally love to see the different versions/universes people would create/use for it.
Is testing open to everyone or only a select few. Cause I'm getting rather impatient.
Seems the games been marked as abandoned; Can't say that I didn't expect this with the 2 year wait between updates, but its unfortunate all the same. Personally thought this game had the potential to be great.

If you are on the discord, you will be able to playtest before I upload it here.
That was a mistake, the game is very much still in the works and even has new spoilers in the discord regarding new summon creature spells and creatures to use in your dungeon.

Sorry, the game has been OnHold for longer than six months without a new release.
Unless there is a release which I didn't see in the Discord (latest showing from 2021), per site policy we are marking this game thread with Abandoned status. The status would be changed after a new game update has been delivered.

hi guys i think this game has a lot of potential! unfortunately the editor doesn't seem to have the desire or the time to continue.

I joined the Discord to playtest the new update, I love games where you can upload your own stuff and this game looks perfect for me, I've looked at all the channels and I cannot find for the life of me where this playtest version is. If anyone can assist me that would be very appreciated!
I didn't see a new playtest version on the discord. Instead, there are ideas/features that haven't been compiled into a test version. The Dev didn't promise a playtest version was on the discord, but rather that a playtest version would be released to the discord first.
Thanks for responding, I was a bit confused as whenever someone would ask how to rank up people would just say to check the Discord. I interpreted this as meaning that we could already playtest the new version. Thank you!
