when is this officially abandoned? The dev didn't do jack shit for 16 months now and is using excuses to continue this.
The game is dead.
The game is dead.
They make "some progress" for 16 months now. It's all empty words. They just want to keep the money flowingcool appreciate the reply I'm just glad its still being worked on.
How would that help?all this could be done with if blue cat made a comment him self here
Ok but when he started this forum was good publicityHow would that help?
People would call him a scammer or liar or whatever in response. The angry people would still be angry, the disappointed still disappointed and the game still not finished. The only people BC owes an explanation to are those who are paying for the game, and BC has been in communication with them.
It may not help but not blocking all his news behind a pay wall would. How would that help?

I never understood why anyone thinks that's a good idea, blocking visual teasers or test builds is one thing, blocking the monthly reports? Bruh?It may not help but not blocking all his news behind a pay wall would.
It's just the state of the games industry as a whole sadly, even the best of them seem to fall down these days so the "average" bar just falls lower as a result, like a compounding effect almost. It is what it is and we can't change it, maybe help it in some form if we got into the industry ourselves but that's a whole different set of issues.I think it's safe to say that this game deserves an (ABANDONED) Tag.
Honestly man, BlueCat, ICSTOR. Like even the guy from School of Lust. I don't know who said, but i quote this person:
"I call this the Curse of Patreon"
Honestly? Wise words... That's why is difficult for me to keep with Western games projects,1 out of 10 games will actually see the light of day on his full glory, the rest will be forgotten and abandoned. But i don't see a problem with that, i see a problem with the fact that this developers appear with this games promising lands and seas to their backers, only to slow the progress of development to literally like 0.1 or even worse, when they rewrite the whole beginning for the 5th time or make spin off that are supposed to expand the world but at the end of the day are just off tracking projects. (*cough* Covenant *cough*)
Honestly i feel so done at this point, i have seen projects either being fully abandoned or their developers hanging and using they around like a banner to attract money, to be honest that woulnd't affect me that much if it was only a indie industry thing... Not even a estimate, if only the status reports were public. So, why haven't the devs given a estimate of when the merge is completed? After a year, shouldn't they know how much work is left and what the pace of their work is?
Sure, a specific date is hard to estimate, but they should be at least able to narrow it down to a month or two by now.
There won't even be any new content. I honestly can't believe that after a year we are still waiting for a content-free update (I feel like an idiot).
I have asked this weeks ago in this thread. No answer then and I believe no answer still...So, why haven't the devs given a estimate of when the merge is completed? After a year, shouldn't they know how much work is left and what the pace of their work is?

Yandev's issue with Yansim was essentially being a bad programmer unironically, then after being shown how to code better and having people cleaning his mess allowed him to be a bad programmer ironicallyWell, let's take a look at that really quick:
Ren'Py is a ready to use engine made for VNs. While someone obviously had to code it, this doesn't mean the author of this VN even touched the source code. Like i said, IF it is Ren'Py's fault by any means (which tbh I doubt) it is understandable, not everyone knows how to code and/or have time to learn after all.
Yandere Simulator and Fallout 76 issues are more related to "how do we handle that problem?" than skills imo. Both have shit game designs, and the Yandere Sim. dev manages to be worse than whoever makes the decisions at Bethesda. Also FO76 engine was originally for single-player games.
