Guys, it's not his fault. The thrice re-written Ren'py code has, in the process, merged with one of the Old Ones. The only way to prevent the complete and utter extinction of life on Earth is to keep delaying Ecchi Sensei; the bullshit spewed in service of these delays keeps the barrier between worlds intact.

Sorry, not really feeling writting another short story. Use your imaginations. It's what you'll have to do to find out how ES continues, anyway.

Bluecat is breaking records for how oblivious a person can be to what's happening around them

Whatever the case, the games finished and how people continue to give chances to bluecat, a serial liar, baffles me. He's taking peoples money, and will give nothing back

That's not really saying much and your logic is flawed.
This site also has many games that;
1)Make considerable money to the dev(s).
2)Have games that continue development on a regular basis and,
3)Have games that have devs show their progress.
Hell, you even have games that promote this site like LoML.

The piracy card can only work so far until the realization that other games thrive and do well, in spite of being popular here.

Fair enough, but the ones still paying are in the Discord not here. If you really want to make people see the light, that would be the place to do it. Everyone here already agrees with you, more or less.

The developer posts regular (Paywalled) "Status Updates" and is active somewhat in his own discord, never the less by the rules of this site his project is still considered to be in active development but again only in the most technical of senses.

That forum rule must be changed, in my opinion sharing a post on Patreon or a message on Discord does not mean that the project is alive or that the dev is working. On what proof are you basing your claims? On the dev faith? The forum must change the rules and put a reasonable maximum amount of time for each update (1 year?), after that IF the developer has not released an update or serious proof that in this time lapse he has not been working the game will have the abandoned tag automatically.
The abandoned tag will be removed if and when the dev will release the next game update.
I'm surprised the staff has not already implemented something like this given that this forum is focused on game developing.

I suspect it's because no one actually goes to the mods about it. People complain about it in a thread like this and leave it at that. The mods themselves have said they don't see an issue with how this is happening.

I would say, the rule should be changed also to only take into account public patreon etc posts. Regardless of if a devs likes / agrees with it or not they get free publicity here and if they want to written update posts behind a pay wall this site should consider it not an update at all. Look at all the other games in the global industry that has piracy, all their updates (patch notes, future plans, etc) are all freely available regardless if you bought the game or not. It should be treated to this standard and if they don't follow it they can't complain if they get less interest / monetary gains as a result.

you guys are forgetting that this is not a piracy site, this site is just a place for 18+ game developer to gain publicity, i'm pretty sure the site owner, moderator or whatever you call it get some money or something from developer like this
that's why this loophole of 3 month exist, dev do nothing for 3 months then post a stats update without content update, that 3 month is enough time to gain another victim, even if its just 5$ per month

any comment like this one, or even comment that suggest the site owner taking developer side always get deleted immediately

if i remember there's also been a case on another game that do this kind of things, only do stats update for 2 years, reaping all the money he can get, while doing nothing
until this site tag that game as abandoned, then as soon as it got that tag the game update the next day with minimal update
and this site remove that abandoned tag

I don't think that this site's policies have anything do with donations from devs, though I hear this conspiracy theory come up a lot around the forums here. I think it is more that this site doesn't want to get in the business of trying to figure out a dev's true intentions, which is impossible anyway.

There are a lot of amazing, high quality games here that are legitimately in development that are on the 1 year + cycle, "Deluca Family", "Dr. Amana, Sexual Therapist", "Halfway House", or "Summers Gone", where the dev is clearly working on their game, but just takes a long time to release updates, due to other issues in their lives, work, family, etc, or just perfectionism. This site doesn't want to antagonize such devs, which are mostly active in the community here, by labeling their games "Abandoned" or "On Hold" when it clearly isn't. Nor do they want to annoy them by labeling the game "slow development" or other similar tags. This site works best when devs hang around and participate. I think their games are better for it as well, and get more support.

If you can think of a foolproof method to separate the devs that are legitimately working at a high level, but just take a long time, like the games I just mentioned, from the clear scammers and malingerer's like Bluecat, who at this point, is clear to anyone, that he is happy doing nothing indefinitely, feel free to suggest it.

If I was to take a stab at such a rule, I would say if the actual dev (not a proxy), posts evidence of development: screenshots of an upcoming update, or story themes, at least once every 6 months, and also posts some type of status update every 3 months, the game will not get any tag. If the actual dev (not a proxy) does not post anything on Patron or here for 3 months, a game is tagged "Abandoned" due to radio silence. If there is no evidence of development, as I mentioned here, for 6 months, but they still post something on Patreon or here every 3 months, it gets tagged "On Hold". If a game has more than 18 months since last update, it gets tagged "On Hold", and if it doesn't get an update in the next 6 months after that, it gets marked "Abandoned" after 2 years.

I think this would leave out real working developers, who are active either on here or on their Patron, and frequently post screenshots or discuss plot points or other important details about the upcoming update, from those who pretend to work on it, just to keep collecting monthly donations, but can't make the effort to show any evidence whatsoever that there is an update forthcoming.

Yeah, putting status reports behind a paywall is one of things that irks me the most. If Elden Ring had the details of it's recent patch update behind a paywall, people would rightfully lose their shit. Ecchi Sensei isn't the only one that does this, but it's the most egregious cause the content of said Status Reports is so barebones and free of substance.

No, this is very much a piracy site. Some devs begrudgingly role with it, and make it work to their advantage by cultivating a following here, but the main purpose is to get porn games without paying for them. Which in turn works in the sites benefit, because it means no legal troubles with the devs.

The mods rules enable a neat symbiosis, but that doesn't make us not pirates.

No, because updating like that is still an update, so instantly negates the Abandoned tag. At worst, it's abusing a loophole, but noone would need to get paid for it in the situation you just described.

Depends on how you use the site, for me if it wasn't for this forum i wouldn't have known a lot of outstanding devs. Before coming to this forum i used some other sketchy download site, because it was difficult find who the dev was or how to cantact him. Thanks to F95zone i'm in contact with many devs through PM, and also i support some of them via Patreon. For those that i don't support directly i help them with Proofreading, translating, beta testing or bug fixing; this for me isn't considered "pirating".
Also you forget that in this forum you can find huge amount of information on many topics: info about assets, programming, modding, ecc. Those topics don't have any relation to "pirating".

the purpose of piracy is to not be bounded by paywalled content on the internet, yet they didn't allow it?


also about the patreon only extra content on game, why no one is allowed to post it here? i've seen alot of game have paywalled extra content, but none of it is allowed to be posted in this site
