In some ways. It is a lot easier overall I would say, and the combat mechanics have a lot more depth (as it is on a grid instead of just front and back rows).

There is a second one. Eiyuu Senki Gold it's called. No translation though and its not a sequal. Totally different story, more girls, more scenes, more functions, more items. Basically just made it better and gave it a new story. There was going to be a fan translation but JAST USA hit them with a fatty DMCA. so maybe JAST themselves will translate it one day... maybe.

I looked into a bit is this is one of my favorite lewd games ever (right behind Koihime Musou). JAST did announce a translation for Eiyuu Senki, but they didn't state whether they meant the original or the remake. However, it seems like they announced it well after they had originally translated the first one so they got to be referring to the second one (right?) I might be getting my dates wrong but I'm sure they released the translation for the original in like 2014 and they announced another eiyuu senki translation in 2016 with no confirmed release date. Now I don't speak moonrune and Idk how long it takes to translation something but... I'm seriously hoping.

I tried this game, and while the gameplay was good (although kinda unexplained), the porn didn't work for me (i think it was a combination of vanilla excess, art not very hot and lack of cg variation), the dialogue and thousand of heroine events with repeating soundtrack get boring after a while..... i guess i should go back to rance :FeelsBadMan:

Them's fighting words... Nah I get what you mean man. These artists have a really cute drawing style and have fun stories with them but they don't produce good HCGs. It's more to make your dick shed a tear of joy than anything else.

I actually think the art looks pretty good. But the lack of CG variation is so disappointing. All the scenes have, like, 3 images tops in them. And the fact that some girls don't even get scenes... Why do all the moe chicks get scenes? Why can't some of the muscle girls get them? I wanna fuck Lu Bu dammit! I would've preferred less girls with a bigger focus on them. This way it's too spread out and not everyone gets the attention they deserve.
It's a fun game. I enjoy it a lot. But it's a poor H-game.

I think the art is good, just not hot (except maybe columbus and gilgamesh, and if there was one with babylon leader would be here too). And yeah, there is some favoritism there, most annoying girl gets like 5 h-scenes (you know who i'm talking about)

The gold version is supposed to have nearly all the characters have H-scenes unlike the first one that stuck to like a third of them. (Lu Bu blue balled me hard)
