You guys are downplaying the trouble into creating sexy images.
Most of these games are side jobs. As, I don't know many patreons which are rewarded with enough money to compete with whatever gig job you can do in arts industry. Don't even compare to salaries in tech.
And these teams are probably composed by no more than a couple of people. Which brings an interesting quality deficit (most devs around here are good drawers/modelers but still improving script writers/map designers etc, etc).
It gets blatantly easy to notice this when you look at the filesizes of interesting games.

Erahunter dev did a cool job with this one. It is one of the best around here.

Oh please stop that. They haven't released anything meaningful for close to 3 years by now. Even if it's just a hobby where you invest 3 or 4 hours a week or so you'd produce some decent content. I mean, this game is a simple as it gets in almost every aspect.

Let's be real. A decent artist will produce the art for this whole game in less than a week, probably even faster.

For this game? Could be. There ain't much here after all.
Perhaps a bit longer since technically there's a concept stage where you try to figure out your direction, but still.

A decent full-size game, I doubt any, even the good ones could do it in a week.
But even then, years upon years and years is just milking it because they're getting paid anyway.

Any other, let's say usual Japanese developer, wants to finish their games in a timely manner since they wanna sell it to make a buck (or yen rather).

Sure there are some tiny eroge on dlsite, but at least they were finished products.
And then you have the decent sized games like what a Clymenia or Acerola offers, which still doesn't take 10 years to deliver ya know.

I get that you may want to deliver something 'grand'. Bigger than a usual game. I get that you want to do it via Patreon or SubscribeStar so you can go 'long' and deliver 'a lot' for a long time.
But here they're just going long, delivering nothing. They've delivered a proof of concept ... people ate it up ... they're cashing it in.

Yeah, I wasn't referring to any others in this case but to the fact that he's calling this game a "cool job" and in this case there's really not much work in it.

Oh, I didn't want to say that. Though there are some short(ish) japanese RPG games with generic anime art, where it's probably not that far off.

Indeed. It's as it is, but people really shouldn't defend it.

Manga artists (which doesn't mean pro full-time artists) can produce a lot of art. I believe they do produce something equal to this games all art in every 1-2 weeks. A lot of them are casual people. Sometimes they take a break and disappear for a month or even a year. For example, Perfect Half artist took a break for 1 year in the middle of his manga... ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Since I said that manga artists can draw a lot of art.. an example of someone who can consistently deliver a full new manga chapter every week would be "The Girls’ Nest" artist. You can check the release dates:

Now, before someone mark me as a huge "attacker", because I like details and I love to compare things, I would like to add that I understand that we can't expect everyone to work at the same speed. All devs are allowed to spend as much time as they like on art. I only want to prove that it doesn't have to take years... :p

I agree about Clymenia, I played all his games. Btw, a new game is coming this year, yay! This is another good example that rpg maker devs can deliver finished games in 1-2 years instead of an update. :^)

Also, mabo151's new upcoming game look good. The trial version is huge (a lot of teasing, but no sex for free). *_*

Ok, you got me curious so i just checked. Since february 2020 (the last update) there was one small pool in march and 4 sketches, this game had no status or content update and he is (very slowly) working on the next update of Naked Adventure. Requested on-hold status.
This is sad. This was a good game. I dont think we are getting an update in the next year or so. Like you said his naked adventure update will roll out probably 6 months from now.

Commercialising 2 games at the same time as a single person developer really tells you all you need about how much the devs wants to pull through with their projects...

It's because of forum rules, but given that it hardly got any content beyond the first update, this was long overdue.
well then in that cass even tho its slow i hope he will work on this again so the abbadoned tag will go away

Maybe the game update still in develop, but honestly to say it taking too long and even after years of development the game still didn't have much content. I just can't believe he's got 2000USD per month for that, just how and why?

Cause the game is great. Maybe some people believe that it will help motivating the developper ; but I think he creats his games juste sometimes when he wants, living comfortably with money it generates. He doesn't care to make efforts, cause he doesn't have to.

Maybe that was the reason, not just this dev but I saw lot of devs have the same way of "holy damn my patreon page finally got so many supporters...welp, no need to making new update daily and follow the schedule anymore" and slow down their game development
I really enjoy this game with it silly story and sexy content, but at this point it would take 10-20 more years for the game to have enough content to truly enjoyable with 1 update per year rate.

I'd given up on this thing a long ass time ago. I generally only play 'completed' games and keep an eye on ongoing stuff here and there just in case it does ever finish.

This thing however ... this is a disaster.
And yeah ... I really don't see how people keep paying the DEV for diddly squat.
