It's not that deep. She isn't a real prostitute telling a lie to make a customer feel special. She's a character in a porn game saying it so players don't freak out and yell NTR every time she pops up in the story

While there isn't child prostitution in the game itself it is mentioned that it happens in eternum.

I just think the most obvious impression one should get from the scene is that there might be a correlation from the real world death of that guy and the ingame execution. And in that case the most obvious conclusion is that there is some kind of conspiracy behind the game.

But of course the story can still take completely different direnctions. Maybe the death of the guy, albeith natural or not, had nothing to do at all with the permaban of the user and the suspicious MC seems to have in the last scene will prove void.

The one thing I hope it is NOT is any variation tired-ass trope of "IF YOU DIE IN THE DREAM/ASTRAL PROJECTION/SIMULATION/MATRIX YOU DIE IN REAL LIFE". The weakest point in the writing so far is the way death mechanics are explained in Ethereum; if you were punished that hard for a death, nobody would ever take risks and the game would be almost as boring as real life, which would crush the game's popularity. Pay $2500 to live in a world where I play things safe and avoid fights? Fuck that, I have the real world for that shit.

Maybe the REAL reason the company that made Eternum is so profitable is because they're secretly breaking into the homes of Eternum players and harvesting kidneys without them noticing while they're playing!

I would have to check again to be 100% sure, but I don't remember any sort of such measures being mentioned. Guess it might become an important plot point in the future.
