Did dev say why the style changed so much? I guess maybe it's them growing as an artist, but overall I preferred the art and render style of FILF and Altered Destiny a lot more. Doubt it will grow on me unless it improve later.

I loved the first game so I'll definitely check the second one out here. Even if it's not a direct sequel.

More pronounced shadows and more realistic skin textures are my guess.
The characters from the first game are "perfectly" lit and they all have the same smooth texture on them which makes it cartoony looking hence why we don't recognize it as bad but stylized.
The same how World of Warcraft despite being a very old game come out as more pleasing to the eye then much newer games that go for the more realistic graphics.
A better example though for this particular case is how chicks use filters on instagram to hide their uglyness. Dev sucks at visuals and has to hide his flaws behind cartoonish filters

Looking at the promo pictures, it looks like it was 6 years old and made by someone who's new to this. Everyone has these weird unnatural facial expressions, the lighting is terrible, models are super basic... come on, what happened?
I know, gotta love platform TOS (in)consistency. But yeah besides the fact I hate sandbox formats for porno games these days after AD was abandoned just because they don't get extra money from Steam I pretty much lost faith in this dev. I really wish devs would quit caring as much about the money. Fuck the money. Do it because you enjoy story telling and making AVNs and just pirate the assets (not hard for ones from 5 years ago) and put it on SS or don't bother. Better still, don't release anything until the whole thing is done and then just sell it on BB where anything and everything is allowed like a regular game without early access, as devs with abandoned projects (I don't care the reason(s) why, even if your house burned down with your PC lost and family also dying in the fire Acting-Lessons style) that made people waste their money I tend to avoid even downloading after that.

I concur with everyone else. Everything about those faces makes me never want to touch this... Especially the MC. He looks like a giant douchbag in every picture. How did we go from FILF and Altered Destiny to this?

The renders haven't improved. If anything, they seem like a downgrade. These renders were acceptable in FILF because it was released in 2018, but not now.
