An absolutely great game, hands down the best parody game in this site, i truly mean it, i can see how much thought there is behind the story, its hard to pickup from right where the original series ended and to make it look like a direct sequel, thats a big thing for a porn game to have a "good plot"
good enough to be compared as a sequel to the anime!!!!, thats some real smart work and i am not exaggerating, i appreciate all your effort. I loved the game.
Miss Astrider i understand the problems you are facing, and i am sorry that i can't help you, i wish i was in a situation where i could support you but i am not making money yet. I am frustrated that the game isnt more popular as well, i get it and its not your fault, you have been keeping the quality of the game consistent even after you were left alone to continue the project while keeping a healthy positive interaction with all your fans. Its not often to see a dev do that, you are really pushing you limits for us and keeping the updates regular. I dont see any reason for this game too be criminally underrated, its not like the story or the annimation is bad, like clearly it deserves more love that what it has now.
I just wanna help you so let me say what I think is holding the popularity of the game back,
1)When I tend to play these games one of the first things that matters is the size, cuz when someone is browsing over games in a site like f95, its not hard to find games, so when the size gets too big and especially if the game is just at the starting stages, that could be a turn off, 2.5 gb is a lot if you think about it, so why don't you try reducing it to <1GB.
2)Now what makes this game so good is the story and the characters, no doubt the characters and the animations are top notch, but the good story compliments them more. Well the thing is your story here is too long at the start, now don't misunderstand it, its appreciated how much thought was put to make the game as close to the series as possible, as a fan of the anime nothing pleases me/us more, but what about the non fans, its hard for them to follow whats going on since the story doesn't really give a backstory or an explanation on the characters, you are kind of expected to know what happens in the whole anime series to make sense of the story here. The biggest example is our game's protagonist, since August is a character directly from the anime, there isn't much explanation about the other characters or the way the world works, since the protagonist already knows all of them, while in most other games of this kind you play as a foreign character to the anime, someone who got spawned into this world or like a totally original character who doesn't have anything to do with the events of the anime, in such cases obviously the other characters in the game will have to explain who they are and the way the world works, which will help every player out.
What you have done with game is a blessing for the fans of fairy tail but statistically speaking most of the players wouldn't have watched anime or aren't well versed with fairy tail. So if thats the case the story being too long and complicated at the start can cause a bit of confusion to such players.
3)Your interface for the game is fine, but improving it might increase the audience like adding a walkthrough or events list and a gallery, hinting where the new events are and with which characters. I understand if the event tracker for characters is too hard but that nonetheless is a good thing.
4)Well i do know that building up the story is essential, but giving too much information at once should be avoided, the interactions do get a lot shorter as the game progresses try doing that at the starting of the game as well, first impressions matter a lot, you could even pull off stuff like this in the middle of the game but try to keep the start as simple and entertaining as possible.
And don't misunderstand what i am saying, when i say interactions i mean the non-events type, its good to have a lot of interaction when its an event that can lead to something "spicy". Thats what the people want.
Finally I would feel bad if you do decide on abandoning the game due to the lack of money and support but i respect your decision and get what you are doing. Good luck on your new game as well.
