Not necessarily, I do believe this project will come out eventually. The problem with this project is the lack of transparency when it comes to the implementation of its features and unnecessary changes regarding the original plans for this game. Gacha is one of the worst offenders and an online mode that is clunky, creepy, and greedy "forcing" you to spend more money than you already did (If you bought or funded this game.)
Do you actually believe it's ever going to achieve the release state and be sold as a full game anywhere? Man.... There are just way too many indie 3D porn games with AA and even AAA graphic fidelity out there that have never been finished after more than 4 years. No, they are just going to keep milking those thristy wallets and never call it done. Why would they? They have a recurrent income that will keep flowing till the game is finished lol I know I would never finish it, I would keep announcing new features, new mechanics, new systems (Wild Life comes to mind), patching things, changing things, adding this and that (Fallen Doll) so that the game would never be finished lmfao And this is exactly what ALL developers have been doing the last 5 years, from adeptus steve... to Helious... to Eromancer....

I do believe this game will be finished someday, but I never said it will be a fully-fledged release, without features locked behind season passes and everything of the kind. When this game is finally released, it will not be consumer friendly at all.
The funniest thing about this whole online-only DRM nonsense is traditionally developers needed to protect sales because the publisher who fronted them the money expect to be paid back in full + interest. Helius keeps blowing this piracy horn while conveniently ignoring the fact he doesn't need to pay anyone back, the project's fully funded by rubes who expect nothing but a game in return.
This is what bothers me too. He keeps going on about how vulnerable singleplayer games are to piracy and how he's doing the online thing to protect his poor team from starving, all while he's already made so much cash with this stupid project they could all retire to a remote island and jerk off all day without a care in the world.
It is not about paying back publishers, there are plenty of games that without DRM would still make ton of money. But it is a simple math for them, if they can spend 100k on DRM and make 1mil back because of reduced piracy they will go for it. It really doesn't matter if the game made 200mil so that 1 mil is a drop in a pool.
More money is more money. If you make 1k you want to make 2k, if you make 5k you want to make 10k, if you make 100k you want to make 200k. At which point it is greed? I think he has full right to want to maximize profit by combating piracy.
Ah look it's end of the month and Helius with the last minute update to keep people from unsubing. I wonder if he will actually release the update today and risk that people will be unhappy about Galatea. Or do the usual - say tomorrow and then wait few days till it's new month.
