Not necessarily, I do believe this project will come out eventually. The problem with this project is the lack of transparency when it comes to the implementation of its features and unnecessary changes regarding the original plans for this game. Gacha is one of the worst offenders and an online mode that is clunky, creepy, and greedy "forcing" you to spend more money than you already did (If you bought or funded this game.)
But no, the project is not dead. The development team is making progress but they are clearly taking all the time they can to get more money from Patreon.
This game will be released sometime in the future, but not in the way the grand majority of its player base wanted.

Do you actually believe it's ever going to achieve the release state and be sold as a full game anywhere? Man.... There are just way too many indie 3D porn games with AA and even AAA graphic fidelity out there that have never been finished after more than 4 years. No, they are just going to keep milking those thristy wallets and never call it done. Why would they? They have a recurrent income that will keep flowing till the game is finished lol I know I would never finish it, I would keep announcing new features, new mechanics, new systems (Wild Life comes to mind), patching things, changing things, adding this and that (Fallen Doll) so that the game would never be finished lmfao And this is exactly what ALL developers have been doing the last 5 years, from adeptus steve... to Helious... to Eromancer....

Lmao isn't this exactly what he said with the Origins build? Do they even have the combat mode in phase 2 still, or was that dropped as well?

It really seems like he's just going to kick this game out as a few small maps where you walk around, with other players for some reason, playing animations and buying quarterly hats. That wouldn't necessarily be awful in a sex sim that could maybe be extended with mod support but the locked down nature precludes that too.

What a trainwreck. At least other devs are catching up and starting to use UE5 to make porn games targeting higher end systems.

I do believe this game will be finished someday, but I never said it will be a fully-fledged release, without features locked behind season passes and everything of the kind. When this game is finally released, it will not be consumer friendly at all.
It will come out eventually, but it will be "incomplete" and they will sell the other parts of the game in season passes and micro-transactions.
Like characters, sex-position, costumes Etc.
And they will drag the development of this game as long as they can, so they can cash in all the Patreon money $$$ .
So yeah I can pretty much see this game being released, but iI never said it would be a good game or a finished product like they advertised years before.

It is not about paying back publishers, there are plenty of games that without DRM would still make ton of money. But it is a simple math for them, if they can spend 100k on DRM and make 1mil back because of reduced piracy they will go for it. It really doesn't matter if the game made 200mil so that 1 mil is a drop in a pool.

For Helius the DRM probably means a lot more. It is not because of piracy for sake of not paying but also to combat piracy for the sake of not having to grind. So i do believe him when he says DRM is important for his "game".

but Project Helius has so many BIG red flags and everything leads to #battlepass in beta #gacha #item shop and more. anything you can spend your money on they will include, the same reason there is no offline/solo mode
because in solo they can hack and do not earn cash on it

I already paid for ARK, Lorain, Telepurte's art, Terraria, etc etc just because I loved all of these (or spent a lot of time playing in ARK's case...fuckin hate that game lol) even though I could've just pirated them and moved on, and more people are willing to do the same, but greedy bastardds don't even allow us to pay for stuff we don't need to pay for because we start hating the product just because of their creator

Majority of games these days suffer from that, I'm past being upset about it. My problem is that they are wasting supporters money and answer to none. If they made a poll and get majority to support the change - i would be fine with it. If they had clear information about new direction as soon as they started moving towards with proper reasoning - i could at least give them some credit for being honest.
