At least Redamz waited for years after closing his Patreon to turn the game in a different direction.
Looks like PH beginning to seed the idea of abandoning his second project! Can't handle the financials and the stress of the game because he opted to pay for Denuvo and his team of "30" employees (mostly translators and "community managers"), leaving little to no money for himself (as he himself claims).
He honestly seemed to be doing fine on Patreon before he pivoted to transforming his scene viewer into a permanently online gacha porn game. The delays brought on by his own stupidity only cost him Patreon subscribers. He could have kept releasing Gallery stuff, growing his Patreon base, while developing his single player NSFW Game, and it would have been a massive financial success on Steam.

I wonder why they have VCs hounding them... is it because they took money from them whilst agreeing to do the complete opposite of what their crowd funding project promised and still haven't delivered, either for the crowd funders or private investors, years later?

Honestly my money would be on him just whining in Discord to try and get some sympathy, maybe he thinks he can convince people there is a reason he's going the dumbass gacha route and hasn't delivered anything meaningful in years. I doubt it will go anywhere.
Can you really see him doing anything to risk his Patreon subs? He's basically getting tens of thousands a month to occasionally change his pet project a little and/or post concept art.

I don't see the risk you are talking about. There are still a lot of common folk paying him. There are also a lot of whales who are willing to pay more than AAA price for a game that is still not completed after all these years. We even had atleast one person in this thread who admitted subscribing to him and then forgetting to cancel his subscription.
I wonder many people like this guy forgot cancelling their patreon subscriptions.
I think if he were to abandon this game and make another game some people would stop paying him but that loss would be nothing compared to the completely new people that would start paying him based on the artifically created hype by helius and his bootlickers. Majority of people don't care enough to check if developer has done shady things in the past so they would gladly pay him based on his promises alone.
Based on the "maybe the porn industry isn't for me" part I was presuming that the threat was to dump FD and then go make SFW gacha games. He probably would retain some of his Patreon for a time, I've seen creators who haven't posted in years that still have subscribers, but it would undoubtedly drop like a rock if he moved away from porn games entirely and I doubt he'd be able to leverage his existing Patreon account for a SFW project unless he was willing to scrub it.
Although having said that I think Helius' issue seems to be that he just outright isn't a good developer or project manager, so I don't see why he thinks he would succeed in making gacha mobile games which isn't exactly an uncompetitive market.

I didn't realize we were talking about sfw gacha games so I assumed his next game would also be a nsfw game similar to fallen doll. Regardless, a sfw gacha game will make more profits compared to a nsfw gacha but I don't think he has skills to keep a gacha game alive for long.

Hell I don't imagine that something with comparable build quality to FD would even get approved for the Apple/Google stores. Maybe the Chinese stores like Huawei/Oppo have lower quality requirements but I imagine even they have their limits.

He's basically saying that if he were to drop the online mode and turn back to offline, all the future content that was promised would be cancelled and he would only "polish" what's already done and deliver this in a package.
Meaning that all the future girls that we saw in those concept art would never come to the game.
The sad part is that his plan worked, the way he presented things, made his Patreons believe that the only way to go forward with this game was to go with Gacha and microtransactions.
Helies is going nowhere, and this project will stay as it is for many years to come. He said he has a small team many times before. The fewer people in the team, the less he gets to split the profit. He will not trow away free money.

If this project does go under, all the people in the Discord server and moderators shutting down and trying to silence criticism are partially to blame. People have been suggesting to focus on the singleplayer experience first to actually release the game with the online portion gaining focus at some later date since before Harem was even available to play, but many of the patrons there continued to joke around and clown on people questioning the direction the game is heading in. Might be shitty to say, but those that dropped hundreds of dollars into this game and participated in that kind of behavior deserves having wasted that money. And if this game does flop I hope Pasix and some of the other moderators never get in a position of power again because the last year and few months or so they've been abusing that power and silencing those they don't agree with regardless of whether rules have been broken or not.
As someone that chipped in the $36, I'd vote option A to get a full game and be done with this developer lol.
