What a dishonnest choice anyway, he could just remove all the online part that are a complete waste of money and time (all the networking and servers and those crazy things) give us the gallery mode, work on a few new maps, new characters, remove the battlepass and those weird things, sell the full game 60$, you could even sell new characters or map as DLC and nobody would get angry.
It doesn't really seem like speculation when the dev is talking about throwing in the towel on their own discord. A porn dev saying stuff like "maybe making porn is not a career I should be pursuing" isn't exactly a sign of great things to come.
So Helius just posted an image of the "new" pose thumbnails for the upcoming girl. And around half of them are clearly reskins of old animations that somehow disappeared from the game in patch 0.7.0 
You can happily continue using the cracked 0.4.9, you still won't be missing much.

For some reason I was expecting a lot higher graphics fidelity from that image
On another note, does anyone have or know of vids showcasing the new/re-released animations as opposed to stuff in v.0.4.9? I don't have anything that could run this game, not like I'll ever gonna actually play it

There we have it folks, the moment we all saw coming since the very beginning. The cycle of destruction and creation, except this time it will be harder for him to gather the same following unless he changes names or something.
On top of being utterly irresponsible, and a verified scammer this guy (or whoever are behind Scamlius) has no trace of morals so he's blaming literally everyone else for their bad reputation and the overall animosity against the Fallen Project.
Name dropping, "big companies", "mystery financers", "experienced team members" poached or aquired etc etc. A load of the usual excuses, nothing but hot air. The guy(s) pretty much have this adopted as their modus operandi, and the modus vivendi of rebooting and recycling assets into new promises, living off unsuspecting suckers that don't research before betting their money...
Bonus point for reducing the discussion to a fake dicotomy. ScamLies is nothing if amusing.
If you download the game from this thread, in the first post, then there's no need for a cheat menu as everything is unlocked and there's no actual gameplay anyway (it's just an animation player where you can position models).
If you have the paid version you have to keep playing the animations over and over again to unlock more animations, and there's a daily limit/daily quests etc. so you have to do it every day. Fun fun.

Homeboy has been blaming mystery investors for bad ideas throughout almost the entire development of OL. IIRC it was the original excuse he gave for why he made it online only.
He's trying to distance himself from his own terrible ideas, posturing about how super important he is with all these totally real big time investors begging him to work for them, and trying to humble brag about how he's turning down all these big offers because he cares about the community so very very much.

As you can see from the posts above yours they are all about the dev lying and deceiving his patrons..
Plus traditionally when a game gets updated with a new version the main post will be updated as well.

There is a fella doing a Metal Slug kinda of game, solid pixel art.
And his other project looks like a futuristic gothic Metroidvania.
But the fella has only one supporter if he had at least 500 of the Hellius supporters his projects would go a long way.
The guy is good.

Looking back through the thread and old Patreon posts he originally said he made the game online only as part of an investment deal with some big Japanese game publisher who offered him a mocap studio in Japan.
Would someone be kind enough to tell me how to get this to run, please? I've extracted and run the game, as per the Installation instructions on the OP, but it keeps opening Steam. So I tried downloading that, then copy/pasted all the stuff from the 0.4.9 stuff into the folder that Steam installed its demo version, and it still just opens to the game's listing on Steam.
