Interesting take, bordering on insult. There is nothing in the OP that says the main draw here is dark, depressing rape. Unless there is a change in tone, that is all there is. And it is not the presence of a "potent antagonist" that bothers us, as there are no choices in this. To be potent means there is actually a chance to fight with this opponent. No choice, no fun.

hmmm... so the original story takes a turn and the son start dominating the mom. That is kinda hot too I guess. Not sure how the dev is gonna take things though cus the story already diverged a lot. Mixing NTR with dominating MC is pretty tricky and makes it a bit hard for the player to frame their mind correctly to enjoy either fetishes.
Personally, I think the dev set up the perfect groundwork for things to turn into real hard NTR. We get to know the mom a bit before she got blackmailed. The relationship with girlfriend is progressing nicely. I'd like it to take the full dive into NTR and the MC slowly losing everything. Mom and GF starting off reluctantly and slowly turning into the cop's submissive bitches.

I just played this for the first time. I love it. And I hate it. Excellent writing and graphics, but plot goes into stupid directions with the blackmail thing. Same thing happened with the Wife and Mother, which had excellent start until blackmail plot was introduced. In this game mother should have walked into nearest hospital for taking DNA of the sperm sample and raised rape charges. Personally I'd loved to see her biting off his dick when he showed it into her mouth. Never give up to the bullies.
On the other hand, plot with childhood friend was just perfect and introducing sister with the latest update was good also. I can't wait to see where story goes with those.
