I am pretty sure the dev became a Family Man and that kinda ended that
He had a stroke so had to stop working on the game

He got married in December of 2021, as per his own statement in this thread. He posted only once after that, in March of 2022, saying that he still planned to post an update, but wasn't getting much time to work on the game. After that, he stopped posting, and the game was abandoned, although he still logs on to the forum from time to time.
