You are well aware that we are talking about the development of the game, not the final build of the version. Obviously, you won't do the whole game in one file, you will get lost, and displaying the file in the editor will slow down (due to syntax highlighting and code structure analysis).I have bad news for you: The actual source code is, in fact, one single HTML file. Yes, the private source, not the compiled (barely minified more like) game.
In any case, my thought was about a situation where the development of the project will simply stop, then in this case it would be possible to make a fork with the author's permission, although I think many would not refuse to see the fork right now with the current pace of development.
