Well, I would say things are a bit more complicated than that. While what you describe has and still does happen since probably the beginning of media. There is a difference between picking something new up not licking it and then complaining about it and being a long time fan of something only to see it change to chase a new audience while alienating the old fans. Especially if this also proves to be an economically bad decision, where the new version looses way more old fans than it gains new ones. Just look at how many box office disasters Disney has produced in the last few years. That kind of also proves that it isn’t always the minority (at least not the minority of those willing to spend money on something) that is complaining. I can understand why people get really angry about having one of their favorite thing turned into something they hate and why they feel the need to vent. The internet is in the unfortunate position that it simply is the least risky place to vent your negative emotions.

Sometimes it feels like those big budget content creators know they can no longer produce quality content and so decide to try milking established fan bases of a few bucks before those realized the have been duped. But then again the atrociously large budgets they really only have a snowball’s chance in hell of recouping are a pretty big contradicting factor. Maybe humanity just collective lost the ability to learn from failure and change their approach when something doesn’t work? Or at least the ability to remove people, who are incapable of learning, from positions of power and influence before something catastrophic happens. Would explain a lot about the current world.

But back on topic, I don’t think the lack of content creation is the biggest problem given how much good content was created only to be removed again. Yeah, the extensive character creation of earlier versions clearly couldn’t receive more than a wink and a nod in the actual game but it was pretty interesting in its own right and was a great opportunity for role playing and justifying your later decisions. On that note, I hope he makes proper use of the great setup he has create for getting the MC into prostitution. They whole Emilia is pushed by her boyfriend and obviously insecure and vulnerable, coupled with the explicitly stated threat that one of the barmaids would have to move on to prostitution or be fired just screams sadistic choice. Either our agents puts her foot down stays a bargirl and sees Emilia coerced into prostitution or she compromises her integrity and dignity much further still to spare her that fate for now. I think that would be a fairly believable way to justify the MC agreeing to prostitution. Would also give her handlers reason to worry whether she gets too emotionally attached to her colleagues and whether that might jeopardize the mission as the MC is making decisions no longer on just what is most expedient for the mission but also takes her fellow bargirls' wellbeing into account (which will clearly be at odds with what is best for the mission).
I think grown men whose lives revolve around consuming, and then getting offended by, children's media like Star Wars and superhero movies are sad tbh. We truly live in a society. #joker #weed

Speaking of ChatGPT... is the latest five star review (starting: "This game boasts intricate and immersive storylines, offering players an unparalleled gaming experience...") written by it?
This game boasts intricate and immersive storylines, offering players an unparalleled gaming experience that sets it apart from any other in the market. With its profound narratives and engaging plot twists, the game takes players on a journey that delves deep into its rich, multifaceted universe. Unlike any other gaming experience available, it provides an unparalleled level of immersion and captivation.

...

In essence, this game stands as a testament to the extraordinary heights that gaming can achieve, providing an experience that transcends traditional boundaries and immerses players in a world where storytelling reaches unparalleled depths, setting a new standard for the gaming industry.
This is 100% ChatGPT, but it is so unbelievably blatant that I doubt it is Crush. Probably just a whiteknight who got angry seeing a bad review, but tbh it might even be a detractor leaving black propaganda. You can't tell :ROFLMAO:

Truly this game is the Yandere Simulator of adult games, complete with this type of absolutely hilarious drama.

"I am a heckin serious CIA operative and while I was down with torturing people at Qatari black sites and overthrowing governments, I absolutely draw the line at sucking dick and getting railed. I didn't join the CIA so that I could do utterly harmless things that I very much enjoy and do in my spare time for fun. I am not a monster!"

You do underestimate how arbitrary humans can be, especially when it comes to this happens to me, that to somebody else I hate or can at least convince myself that I should hate. Not to mention that physical pleasure and mental pleasure is not the same, a woman can actually orgasm while being raped and that tends to be especially traumatizing to the victims, because of all the doubt and self loathing that tends to induce. Few people understand that the body just reacts to stimuli and doesn’t bother asking the conscious mind for permission.

Besides what the main character worries about is explicitly stated: no longer being respected because of the way she obtained the information and having to live with the fact that future colleagues might have gotten their first impression of her by watching basically very degrading amateur porn. Lastly she is no operative, she is an analyst which is a job were you do not expect to actually do anything besides watching videos, reading files and writing reports.

I think the problem is, that he changed the story too much. If you played the previous versions, you might think about them as background while playing this version. In the previous versions, you had the chance to create an operative character, which did several missions and then had sex on camera as training for Bangkok. If you play this version as a new game and forget about the old ones it fits (better) but it's hard to forget.

I think the one of the problems of this novel is a motivation of the main character (MC)

Why the heck I should agree to such mission and allow lowlifes to fuck me?
Do I, as an officer have I self respect?

It would much more interesting if we would have some history between MC’s family and terrorists from devilfish group. Like MC brother’s death or something similar. In such case MC will have a motivation to do anything to get this bitch. This is a one route

Or MC is a chivalrous idiot making that for the Greater Good. Second route

And so on. It’s easy to make such routes with complete opposite motivation and character traits. Like rpgs works, you know

but what we have after 5 years of active development? Fuck this novel

Just accepting the fact that the game is a linear novel and all aspects of an open world are gone, I think the game in general as it stands now, for what it is, is quite good. Crush (mostly) has good writing and the art is good. There's tension at certain parts and (again, mostly) he's good at establishing atmosphere and emotion.

The problem is the turnaround time, though again at this point no one should be surprised at that. I hope the second to last update, which not only was just way too short but also committed the cardinal sin of not fitting in with the characterization thus far (one of the positives that Crush had going for him) was a wakeup call. The newest update was fine, if he can get focused and churn out something like that once a month, I think that would be a good balancing act moving forward.

FWIW I also don't think that Crush is a scammer, I think he's just deeply insecure and incompetent and tries to make everything perfect which results in him making perfection the enemy of good, and then just reinforces his self-doubt and double-thinking himself each time.

I don't really play a ton of games here any more but for all its faults, Female Agent is one of the few ones I do come back to for every new update. He undoubtedly does have an idea and a broad outline for a game with a solid hook. It just makes it all the more frustrating that he can't really live up to the great idea.

With an emphasis on "mostly", ok. The last two updates had no good writing at all, they were inconsistent and rushed.
The art? Well, yes, I very much like the scene pictures and the description of locations, i.e. the restaurants, hotels, bars, etc. If "Female Agent" were a travel guide instead of a porn game, I would be seriously delighted. The avatar? I wouldn't call that "good" - it's just a plain figure with a front view, a (rarely used) back view and some clothes and makeups. I wouldn't even call that "art", tbh.

Don't get me wrong! I still like Female Agent. I don't care if it's turning into a VN instead of a complex open world game, that's fine with me. But I can't understand the ridiculously non-substantial updates which not only lack in frequency but also in quality.

I think it’s not correct to call this stuff a game. It’s interactive fiction - visual novel - text with images and button Forward

So, this like an ordinary book, but divided into slides. There are no much work here except simple writing, because FA doesn’t have complex backgrounds or a lot of custom images that carefully painted by artist. Most of images are AI generated
Avatar is cute and customizable, but it’s only one and it’s painted in parallel by professional artist.

Development is super straightforward because there are no any complex algorithms or many different routes to consider, so I can’t say that workflow is easy, workflow just doesn’t exist.

So, dev can’t write simple text as an ordinary writer, because there is no algorithms or any other complicated or substantial dev work. It’s just a book, but not in pdf or epub, but in html

I get you, just know others might see it differently. You have a unique definition on the way you see it, and it's perfectly acceptable to see it that way. Personally I don't see most Rap as music but as poetry since it lacks instrumental music behind it. My definition of music is tailored, just like how you are tailoring the definition of what a game is. We are doing the same thing, we are using a personal definition which is fine, but others will see it differently.

I straight up disagree with the AI images part. If they were AI they would be better LOL. He has garbage supposedly temporary photos he has pulled from the internet, which clash with the new art. Though I think the new art is decent since it's a consistent art style. It shouldn't take that long to remake all the live action photo... but I wouldn't hold my breath. I really wish he would just contract out someone to do that for him.

I also think the writing quality is good, just not great. I think you are being harsh, writing books is really hard and a slow process. Note most writing in games on this site are actively bad. I do think Crush sees himself as an amazing writer and he isn't. He takes WAY to long to write what he does. He really needs an editor to bounce ideas off of and then edit for him to take some of the load off of him. Crush's problem is production and he needs to find a way to get help increase production.

Complitely agree. I just don't get how you may be so unproductive after 5 years of training in writing during your game development and so much rework. People get a diploma in less time that this
I just want to cry when thinking about all this waste of potential and the slowest writing process in the world

Visual novels are distinguished from other game types by their generally minimal gameplay. Typically the majority of player interaction is limited to clicking to keep the text, graphics and sound moving as if they were turning a page[..], while making narrative choices along the way. Another main characteristic of visual novels is their strong emphasis on the prose, as the narration in visual novels is delivered through text. This characteristic makes playing visual novels similar to reading a book

Is your save from the online version? If so you may need to load that back up and export them manually
I tried exporting and importing it. No change. It says the passage no longer exists (and going back in the history just repeats the same message with different passage names.

The biggest irony is that many VNs (which, by definition, have minimal gameplay), have significantly more gameplay than this one. For example, "Select the right item in your inventory to proceed", "you have to visit this place in the map at certain time", "say no twice before saying yes to get the special path", QTEs, or even just "clicking on the background to find the item" (basically, point and click adventure game-lite). This one doesn't have any of those.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. It's not a game
It's not even a visual novel - it's a kinetic visual novel. A book that was devided into slides

And for some reason people don't get that book and game are different thing if we are talking about developmend efford

So true. There is this sanbox game and people always complain why it takes so long to develop it. Of course, they compare that sandbox game to a VN...

I don't agree. Even as an attempt at erotic literature, this 'game' is quite awful, plotless and rife with pointless illussionary choices. Plus, in terms of raunchiness, it reads like a Playboy story for well-behaved gentlemen. You're basically dress and undress your two-sided paperdoll and put tons of needless makeup on her for no particular reason other than... we're in Bangkok, the long-forgotten brothel-city, where you can take a tuk-tuk or a taxi or a combination of both and it doesn't mean a thing.

When reading a gripping story or watching a great movie, do you think about the characters attire or makeup? Unless it's there to create a visually memorable scene, you don't even register their eye colors. And here, for no reason at all, most of the player's decision revolve around deciding which of the agent's lipstick would go well with the red low-set thong. Is there a combination of clothes and makeup that will unlock a triple anal orgy or something? I don't think so. So why? Do men really jerk off to putting different pieces of garment on paperdolls and then turning them around?

And don't even get me started on the trait system, suspicion level, dice roll checks and all that BS to make this product look like it's not a linear not-even-a-novel. Why would you introduce a masochistic character, which is mutually exclusive with exhibitionists and, wait for it... submissives (because you know, masochists are those strong-willed people, assertively telling their partners how often and how hard they should be mistreated), if you do not have any maso-specific choices/events for them other than an absurdly silly observation that a cat can also mean a whip?

Whoever is supporting financially this project is being taken for a ride longer than it takes an average tuk-tuk from Sukon Alley to Wat Traimit Withayaram Worawihan. There's no sex in the champagne room.
