A lot of the posts were probably moved to the thread for 8Teen because that's where the game is being discussed now.
Also no. Marty might've teased it (I don't think he did) but it seems more like another grasp of a date out of desperation.
Take it from a devout follower even now and someone who has criticized their process as much as I've praised it: we're not getting a significant update until at least mid-January.

The "thread for 8Teen" is oddly enough named 18Titans as that's how it is pronounced perhaps, but it makes it kind of hard to search for and find.

Oh my god.
Last month or so the coder had a depressive episode and was way behind on coding. The artist gave them a deadline that they completely failed to meet AND lied about how far they were on the update. The artist paused donations and has the project on a temporary hiatus until the coder can get some shit done.
Thank you, that's very helpful. Disappointed but not surprised, the writing had been on the wall for a while. I hope it gets back on track, but this is still a genre-defining game either way.
Sad there's no Christmas update; I've been disappointed so far by the tiny number of holiday specials I've seen released this year, I was hoping devs would move to include them more often rather than less, what with Covid and how dark 2020 has been for so many across the globe.
He was not behind on coding, it was made pretty clear he was behind in writing. A writer's block.
This needs to be corrected, yes.
He is the main coder, but mostly the main writer.
But people thing "coder" first and so everything seems to be code-related. And as people don't like his minigames that much, they keep throwing insults saying no one cares about his minigames and to just stop them, as if they were really the cause of the delays every time.
That's expected, really.
Unless christmas is a main theme, not much can be done for it besides art of everyone in santa outfits and the like. Or a short quest involving santa or christmas carol. Or if Japan-based a christmas date, as they are more about a romantic night than gift-sharing there.
On the other hand, Halloween is very close, meaning not that much time between them... yet not only allows for plenty of different, more interesting costumes, it can have anything scary as a theme.

I actually like the minigames in Korra slave route. The coin crush game was fun while he card game was ok. I also enjoyed the go fish game. Just hanging out playing a card game brought back comfy memories.

the writer/main coder's first breakdown was a few months ago, the average guess around here is that he prolly never really recovered from whatever it was. then some updates came, but some deadlines where not met several times; they aren't up to their usual average schedule they had over the years, expectably they will remain slower as used to.
they locked their patreon payment recently "until we sort out" but there's no telling if that's the end or if they just want to keep partons from paying for no-deliver, because patreon sometimes is very sluggish with transfer stops, also some people actually forget to stop funds.
the specials related to MiTy are basically what the artist does while waiting to get FET stuff to work on.

(just) A Christmas/end of the year message.
Merry Christmas and/or Happy holidays everyone! I already said so in the early access post of 18Titans, but I wanted to write a post which all of you (every tier) can read.
I hope everyone will have a great end of the year and a good start of the new one. This should be the last update of this year for us, with the exception of perhaps one final art assets update. I think I'll prepare the Omnitrixxx files for that. I don't think I released those yet?
And just so you know, unless cbob can surprise us all (I'm not counting on that and neither should you) with a FET build between now and the next year, I will turn off MITY's patronage billing again for January.
I didn't want to leave this year without at least some sort of Christmas themed pic so I made a simple gif while listening to one of the more inspired songs in this world. Guess which one! I might have mentioned it before. Something about butts and their size...
