I think the only thing consistent is Alice has always been the preferred canon L.I. for the MC, but because at the time when he moved in, she was already dating Leah on the down low he had no choice but to temporarily move on. Since she was already spoken for, he had no choice but to date other girls until strangely enough, she became intrigued with the idea of acquiescing to the desires of the MC and gave him a shot. Now technically you can say she's always been in open relationships since her and Leah weren't public, but even then she cheats on Leah for the MC.

That should have been a big clue monogamy was not something she could 100% commit to and her desires whether out of boredom or lust were always going to lead her astray. Point I'm trying to make is, maybe the MC and us as the players should have not gotten our hopes up for a happy solo ending with her and the MC. While sure, Melody and even Leah were shown in their respective endings that they matured, and grew up and went on with their lives, at least when it came to relationships, that was always going to be a tricky subject with Alice.

While there might have been scenes in the game where she tried to show the same level of love and affection to the MC, like other have pointed out, actions speak louder than words. Hers tells that while she may have meant to convey love for the MC, and maybe in a weird way she does 'love' him, she also loves her open bohemian lifestyle just as much if not more.

Yes the epilogue points out they both carried on with lovers after getting married, but he did not keep a quasi-serious long term relationship with someone while married to her. His preference might have just as easily been just the two of them committed to each other, settling down to have a family and grow old together however since she clearly had no interest in that, if the opportunities presented themselves, I wouldn't blame him for taking the occasional lover either. Again, the difference being they were most likely flings with no real emotional attachment, otherwise what kind of husband would seemingly allow his wife to carryon taking lovers left and right with no established ground rules while he deny himself the same opportunities?

I already said her not wanting to be monogamous makes sense the problem is she made it seem like that's what she wanted with the occasional fun with another girl but that's not what happened, she cut all contact with the other LIs and MC did the same to be with her only for her to have a relationship with another girl.

It makes no sense and it makes it seem like she does not really want to be with the MC or wants him to be happy only thinking about her needs and wants.

Yeah I can see how the wedding could be seen as a farce, with no real meaning other than the gesture of wanting to spend one's life with their soulmate, only why bother in this case, since literally nothing changed after the marriage compared to how her life was before she got married.

As much as I did not care for Leah's ending given the insane amount of hoops the MC had to jump through to prove his sincere love for her before she would give him a real chance with her, at least in the end she could be satisfied being in a committed, monogamous relationship with him.

Kinda like we are back to where we started minus the marriage. Them living together with her being with someone not with the MC. This time being kicked out of his own room when she comes over.

Alice never talked about being in a poly relationship before her ending. Sure she was fucking around with MC and leah but never had a proper conversation with MC about this poly shit. only after selecting her ending this poly thing was suddenly thrown in our face.

Similarly Karina never showed interests in piercings but as soon as her ending starts she's getting piercings here and there.

In case of melody she has always been the one to have impromptu sex with. she was always shown as a bimbo. Imagine players decided to be with the adventurous one and ending up dealing with her emotional baggage. I just wish i had known about her past struggles before selecting her ending. having said that, Melody's ending is the best one.

At least players should know what they are getting themselves into before selecting every ending.

I always thought she did, actually. The talk on the beach was a big indicator: the MC was in a relationship with all of the girls and Alice knew it; Alice was also in a relationship with Leah, and the MC knew it. I always thought a poly relationship was a certainty. Alice even demonstrated her ongoing preference to that with talk about how she would love to get with Karina along with the MC. (It never happened, but that was because Karina for sure wasn't into it, as of the stormy night.) I would have been surprised if, after the wedding, everything became the MC and Alice only.

No, but Karina always had a bit of rebellion bubbling under the surface. The fact that they were piercings was unexpected for me, but I figured she'd end up getting a tattoo or something.

Personally, I found Melody's baggage endearing, and I was glad it was added. She remained mostly the same girl, but the baggage added a layer of depth to her that I hadn't realized before. I think it was great to include that.

I think that's the point of the endings, though. If you don't like one, you should try another. How many people turn out to be exactly as you think IRL? Isn't it more realistic that more, unexpected things would turn up the closer you get to someone? How would you ever know what's to come in any relationship, real or fantasy? I think it would be different if the characters become polar opposites to what they had been before, but so far I think all of the characters have generally stayed in line with how they were presented earlier in the game. (Just an opinion, of course.)

Melody moved away to help her mom with more franchises of the coffee place. I don't remember a specific reason given for Karina (someone else might, however). If nothing else, I would imagine if the MC wasn't actively involved with her as she changed (i.e., regularly spending time with her, rather than just the occasional visit / date) they probably drifted apart. Of all of the girls, I honestly think she had the weakest connection to the MC.

This. Throughout the series Mc is just seen as side dick to me, he caters to everyone needs and feelings, but his own. And when he does he's rewarded with pussy. During some of these endings, it was the same ole shit, no matter how many timeskips that occurred, he never really grew up or changed to me and that's plain sad. In Leah's ending it was all about what's better for Leah, what makes her happy, what would be better for Leah. The guy left behind everything he knew to move to Vancouver to be with her. The only positive to me was that she genuinely loved him, he was it for her and apparently all she needed, she even chose him over Alice who she was in a relationship with prior to even knowing him. That part shocked me because Leah was the last woman I thought wanted to be "Tied down" or in a monogamous relationship.

Then when you look at Alice's it was more of the same, various timeskips, but nothing changed with the exception of a wedding. Only thing changed was a new set of fuck buddies, while dumping off the old ones. Alice was still as indecisive as she was in the beginning, not knowing what she truly wants or what/who makes her happy and you the Mc just goes along with it like a love sick puppy. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

She never moved away, she was promoting franchises, which she had to do in Houston if I’m correct. It was part of her business but I don’t remember her being there a permanent situation. Lastly MC was actively involved with Melody because he probably was under the impression that he had to choose between Alice and Melody.

There should've been a choice between monogamy and polygamy in the ending or if Alice decides to be polygamous no matter what the mc can either compromise or LEAVE the relationship

Yeah a choice would have been nice but it's not surprising. It's not like the player had real agency over the story, the harem is kinda forced on you even if you can choose a "solo" ending. It's not a good VN to "self-insert" or roleplay as the MC, it's semi-kinetic at that point

My feelings during Alice's ending were all over the place. I get excited for them moving in because that signified that were becoming an item, which is all I wanted since playing Freeloading Family. Alice was always my main attraction and her alone. So imagine my excitement for their wedding and my disgust seeing how their lives panned out.

I like romance make fun of me all you want but I wanted more romance during this ending but it bombed. The Dev made their lives look and seem boring. This ending made me jealous of Leah's and Melody ending because they both seemed happier. These endings have been an eyesore to me and I was banking on Alice's ending to give the couple the perfect send off but I feel foolish now. Nothing romantic about being Married swingers. I don't even know if I wanna see the Harem ending now.
