I think that the future of H-games is one where people get into the game for the porn, and stay for the gameplay/art/audio/storyline/etc.
You've got me reminiscing over Monster Girl Quest now..still consider that trilogy to be somewhere in my top 10.

Just to clarify something: you've mentioned before that clearing the game once would unlock all the various endings in the gallery (I'd assume not the cutscenes though). Is this still true?

I'm actually glad you cleared that up, sorry if i had to be assuming considering i've seen worst and known a good content creator gets pummeled down onto the ground because of the mistake, i mean yes its not just porn that the game can offer, i feel the megamax X vibe out of it, gameplay is a little stiff though
I often wonder what people find "stiff" about the gameplay, to be honest; I think it's due to a lot of people being used to games where the character maintains a large amount of momentum/inertia with their movement (like Super Meat Boy), and so if that's what people are talking about with things being "not stiff", that's intentional.

All of us on the team aren't fans of high momentum/inertia with character movement, as we believe it results in imprecise platforming; we all prefer movement more like Megaman X or similar games where the character stops on a dime nearly, can move at top speed almost immediately after moving, and so on, which allows for precise platforming easily.

We've given Talia a bit of momentum/inertia, but only a tiny bit; we still want to stay away from Super Meat Boy etc. level movement :p

And i may be guessing again here but i think that the attacks are normally fixed in the left and right direction of the character? similar to megaman's game mechanics, its mostly left and right, but there are some attacks triggered by using the directional keypad for up and down, an additional sword or melee attack would also be cool (or rather you are saving it for your second game? i've read something about your team planning on to make a second game for the red head character on this current project you're developing)
Yeah, we're going to avoid giving her any melee attacks because we're saving that for Faye's game (the sequel) where the gameplay will be much more action/speed oriented.

For Talia's game (Future Fragments), you'll be able to get powerups that will allow you to fire upwards/downwards/diagonally, but we don't want to make this a base-level skill that you automatically have because it would make quite a few enemies threat-less.

Yeah, the dialogue is what i'm gonna be hyped for and not just the sprite animations for when she gets raped, the voice acting for the main character is spot on, she's great and i really like how she does her voice acting as if she's the character, most voice actresses over do it and it sounds so cringey and annoying at some point but she's doing it perfectly, she's damn on point when the character has to moan, she does it good.
SilkyMilk is an amazing voice actress; did you know she does both Talia and Vie's voices (along with other female databank voices)? :p

I also hope that there are dialogues and scenes from the other 2 female characters that's supporting the female protagonist in this game, so that there's a diversity in between any cutscenes that could happen, i know, i know that everything you're showcasing is just the tip of the iceberg, i'm just really rooting for this project and that's why i'm really shouting out my opinions here, even though some might have already said what i've told here i still wanted to do it as an act of support.
Every level will have at least one sex animation/cutscene event for Faye (the redhead), and the Earth level has two sex animations/cutscenes and a game over CG scene for Vie (the white-haired woman), with The End level also having three animations/cutscenes for Vie and two CG scenes.

There's also many non-sex cutscenes with each of the supporting cast members, too.

Just to clarify something: you've mentioned before that clearing the game once would unlock all the various endings in the gallery (I'd assume not the cutscenes though). Is this still true?
We have an achievements system setup, with every level having 20 achievements (5 easy to get, 10 normal, 5 hard).
If you get 5 achievements in a level, regardless of anything else, you'll get all the sex animations and CGs for that level in the gallery.

For other things like non-sex cutscenes and databanks, you'll need to find those yourself, but once you've found one variation of a cutscene or databank, all variations of that scene will be available to watch in the gallery as well.

Just curious, will there be any female enemies or feminine monster enemies?
There won't be any female enemies or feminine monsters in this game or the sequel, no; sorry!
There is one woman on woman scene planned, though.

The unlikely thing you mentioned is "Nude Mode", which would have required the entire game be revamped, with totally new cutscenes, voicework, events, endings, animation for the 90+ sex animations etc. from the ground up; it would have taken years.
Understandable but disappointing.
Though wasn't there a stretch goal about this once?
Also, if you made this a cosmetic thing only, you would have to only change the sprites, animations, and CGs, severely cutting down on the required time. This is also something that could be added after release as a patch.

There was, but we never hit the goal; we compromised and added in a mini nude mode sequence late in the game with some additional animations.

Even as a cosmetic thing, that's thousands of frames of animation, 30+ CGs with 90+ variants, all done by one artist (we've tried hiring other artists to help with this and the time it takes for triangulate to give corrections to make sure it's cohesive with the rest of the art/fits the design sheets he did takes longer than him just doing it himself), would take at least another 5-6 months of him working non-stop.

We could do it as a patch, but only a tiny fraction of the userbase would likely go and download it or even care about it from what polls showed tbh, and most of all, we'd much rather have him working on the sequel full time than spending all his time on the nude mode for the original game. :p

Nude mode isn't such a great idea for a pixel based game if the playable character is that small, probably best if there were more scenes instead of a nude mode, i would rather want them to invest all of their time and effort adding in more animations than that, probably more scenes when there's a dialogue and CGs.

besides, she gets stripped off of her clothes once she's fainted out or her pleasure bar exceeded her limits.

Agreed; that said, we do have a zoom now so there's that at least :p

Yeah, I'd also prefer more new content instead of a nude mode - as long as it wouldn't be more taxing, anyway. Which it probably would be.

But a lot of people can't read. It's literally at the start of the game, the third screen no less.
To play Devil's advocate, some people want a changelog before downloading and playing the game in order to find out whether it's worth downloading the new version. If all that's changed are just some bug fixes, you can argue what the point of playing the game is.

But with Future Fragments almost every build has something interesting to check out, so it doesn't necessarily apply to this game.

the disclaimer seems very shady. To me, it is reading...
I want to sell each level separately, so I am saying I have to do it this way, but in reality, no other game is made to do this.

I could be wrong in the reading though. I am jaded by EA, and Bethesda's policy of selling incomplete, and totally bugged games, and then making you buy DLCs, and other patches to complete their game, or even just make it playable.

They are not selling each level separately. They are developing them separately. You could argue that they sell them because of Patreon, but in the end Patreon is not meant to be a storefront. And when the game is finished, you will still have the ability to buy the complete product.

I would much rather have this thought out approach where they go back to redo the previous levels when they know what the finished product will look like than what other H games on Patreon do where they keep redoing everything or switching engines or stuff like that. Developing a level and then moving on to the next one without being concerned with keeping the old levels up to date is a good thing in my eyes. It modularizes the process, and allows them to spend less time overall on patching up the old parts.

That's true in a lot of cases, but as you said it doesn't apply here since (also as you said before hah), they develop things separately/differently. A changelog two months ago was a different level (if not, you get my point.) Also, not to mention, it's on the op. People just stick their hand out and go "Give" w/o doing any effort and get rewarded 90% of the time. The fact that these people's comments aren't removed is crazy.
