Hello Hentai Writer. I've played the 0.44 demo and I quite enjoyed it. The map and enemy design are so surreal, judging by their visual and audio both. I have beaten WREN and gotten the scene after, but I have yet to find the scenes hidden in the map as mentioned in the 0.44 changelog. Can you tell me where in the map can I find these scenes? I have scoured the map for some time with little success. Thank you for the demo by the way. I hope the full game will be even better.

Unrelated to any bugs, is it supposed to be possible to obtain the items marked with question marks that lack the "This item is unavailable in this version of the game" in 0.27P? Are they locked to the demo's Easy mode, if so? (They're the Four-Leaf Clover, Marble Chisel & Hammer, Rugby Helmet, Pair of Dice, and Blender, based on their presence in 0.45a.)
You should be able to get them through certain areas, or if not, through the secret event in the upper right of P5M5.

Both of the rooms other than the MainFrame's in both of the 3x3 grids' bottom row are labeled with the number 8 on their background, so there's no 7 or 9. Is this intentional so as to help hide the boss room's position in each?

Glad to hear you're enjoying it!

For the scenes hidden in the map, they're in Map 11; to get there you'll need to take these steps.

- Leave the hubmap through the left-most bottom exit, to get to map 12
- Use the portal on the bottom right then exit on the bottom left to get to map 20 while in the "spirit" realm
- Solve the puzzle with the tile growers there to make platforms rise on the bottom left, then go through the left exit on this map
- You'll be in map 19 now; just go straight up through the top while in the spirit realm to get to map 11

You know, with documentation like that and being that passionate about finding that stuff, you should definitely join the Discord (link's in my signature), we always appreciate people being this thorough about finding bugs or issues, seriously.

The event unlocking them, you're right, that's a bug that was created in v0.27P; with v0.27F, the previous public demo, that event worked, but with v0.27P it doesn't since you can equip powerups anywhere now, so that change bugged things out some.

For those powerups though, I think we put some of them in graphically, but didn't implement them functionally, which is why they're not discoverable; for the rest, it may have came down to map edits made over time, because I know at one point they were definitely all in there, etc.

We do plan to redo all the powerups functionally too at some point, so it's probably not a loss that you're not getting super acquainted with them for now :p

I'll consider it. I'd need to figure out if I can even access Discord with my current setup first, though. Chromium apps tend to not play nice with it.

The powerup rework makes sense, considering that you'd mentioned their obtainment would be randomized earlier, and then before that implied that the Wall Clock item would be necessary for people to beat the dev time for an achievement: These two can't really go hand-in-hand for most non-patient runners, and there's quite a few peeps out there who just have to get every cheevo in a game that has any to track.

So to be clear, speedrun mode would remove RNG from the powerups, and would make them in the same place each time, so you'd always be able to get the wall clock on your own terms, etc.

oh that's a shame, I like that format but I understand why you don't use it. (and I trust your Design philosophy, your team is just so good at game design.)
so good luck with releasing your game, I can't wait to see how the final product turns out.

Yeah, we're still aiming for November, and prioritizing required things to finish the game, we might have to do some polish things post-release to still meet the November release date.

For the secret, that's an error in that particular build; it worked in v0.27F, but the changes to v0.27P broke it, so that's our bad.

The End, Ice, and Earth never got public demos; only 2 of the 5 levels (Electric and Fire) did.
If we put every demo as a public demo, there wouldn't be too much point to buy the game since the public demos are effectively full, polished levels (for what we had at the time) :p

You can get the other levels on Patreon, but note that the other levels are basically tech demos; we didn't polish or finalize them to cut down a lot on how long the final game would take us to complete, as we just got the base assets and mechanics for each area done.

The final demos for each level though are coming up soon, which will have everything in them, besides story/voicework/cutscenes, as that'll be one of the last things to get locked down (and we want to avoid spoilers, too).

It likely won't have Steam-based achievements, but it will have achievements within the game, which will be skill or exploration based, and they'll unlock the gallery and other neat things in game.

I really encourage the team to add them when Future Fragments is released on Steam. It would be cool to rep this game (mostly Faye) on my profile with a background.

Not to mention trading cards, backgrounds and Steam badges can boost sales. I don't know if you have ever heard of , but it's apparently made a ridiculous amount of money all because owning it on Steam allows people to feature this creepy, distinctive badge on their user profile:

Anyone who buys a game can simply opt out of the game's badge(s) by not crafting the trading cards they automatically receive from playing. The feature badge option I described earlier is something the user selects by their own volition. Owners of the game can also hide achievements for it, or ownership of the game entirely; Steam implemented that option around the same time they began selling porn games for obvious reasons. You can even hide it from "Recently played" or "Now playing".

In short, if someone bought Future Fragments and didn't want their friends to know, it's totally possible.

Not for people that want achievements or money laundering via trading cards, I guess.
The game dev earns a portion of trading card sales sold on Steam Community Market.
