so in typical mangagamer fashion they announced the licencing of this game 3? years ago and it's finally here

That's certainly true for Seinarukana -The Spirit of Eternity Sword 2- which took maybe around 5 years before it was finally released. whereas Gears of Dragoon - Fragments of a New Era was revealed and announcement just last year.

This Visual Novel/Eroge was supposed to be released on September 28th but was delayed and got released on October 20th instead...

2nd quest I start, my entire party is level 2. Enemies are level 22. How do you deal with enemies level 22?

Well I haven't played this game specifically yet, but judging by VNDB tags (avoidable rape) and as a Dualtail/Ninetail connoisseur, it most likely goes like this:

All instances of rape are either combat defeat or MC himself doing/orchestrating them after choosing evil choices. Devs are pretty famous for having a villain/asshole MC in the majority of their games, with choices ranging from "give headpats and swear to protec and love forever" to "fucking whore her to the whole kingdom and then throw into monster breeding room for a month just for lols".

So probably there is a wholesome route if you don't lose battles. At least for the main girls, gods know what protag is gonna do to side bitches he defeats during the story, may gods have mercy on their souls.

Correction: This is their Subsidiary, Ninetail! The Dev who made VenusBlood is the Main Branch, Dualtail!
There is also a second Subsidiary who makes wholesome games only (No weird tentacular stuff or horror, just wholesome), Threetail!
(If anyone thinks I'm joking about Threetail, do your research please thanks!)

It’s a vague three phrase thought which is so synthetic that has no useful explanation for anyone.
(Let’s talk about gameplay: proceeds to not do that)
It’s a bad GDR, but how? Story is fine, but exactly how? Which tags are avoidable?
You answered none, doesn’t help much and doesn’t contribute to anything except to search for some more accurate source.

I kinda have sad news for you and everyone hoping for the first game... It probably won't be happening.
I know this because JAST kinda decided that the 2nd game was much much better than the 1st and since NONE of the Gears games have any story relations, they decided to skip the 1st game entirely! I'm really sorry to be the bearer of bad news but it is so.

No no... that means that skips the Defeat Scenes in the game! I don't know why JAST decided to translate that to Assault Scenes! I haven't played the game yet to know either.
Edit: Now that I think about it, I think that option is actually made for the SFW guys who want to play it on Youtube without facing any repercussions.
