I guess everyone got tired of each updates being the same fucking scenes, needing to redone several times for "reasons."
Those would be the main reasons I could think of.
This tends to happen when you've got a game trying to cater to diverse crowds, none of which wanting the same things.
He'd have been a lot better off focusing on either Max or Kate, finish the game, then move on to the next one.
In Russia they say - don't try to sit on two chairs, you'll tear your pants. Silver is just a vivid confirmation of this

This makes no sense and also doesn't match the title of the game at all. DS's idea was to make Kate an innocent girl who arrives in a big city and starts to develop her life. The player would make choices and they would have consequences or not.
There is a similar (not equal) game that I am referring to QSP - FemLife [v0.95] [Mr_saturn] | F95zone however, the idea is to make Kate reach Glamor, whether she becomes a superstar porn actress or her getting money that or other way and getting rich. Unfortunately, due to the abandonment that DS made with BB, many could not swallow the fact that he was creating a new game with an female protagonist and many of his fan base don't like to play as FC ended up persuading him to create a story with MC and they didn't like the result and asked him to come back with BB as it would raise his support/patreon.
He made several changes and the end result was this, a long, tiring and boring game. So explaining Glamour better, that's exactly it, Kate living in a big city full of lust sins. But unfortunately he put Max in everything and the story was lost before it even started.
But it seems he doesn't do everything himself, if he did, why the hell does he need 5 people? I think he shouldn't have listened to anyone, it's always good to hear criticism or even ideas but it looks like he was pressured by a group that had 40$ in hand, it reminded me of stripclubs when you put a money in the dancer's panties and she starts to shake for you.
Nah, he won't do Big Brother again, that's for sure. If he leaves the Glamor project his focus will be on G9 characters and a new story. He could probably use the name "Glamour" and create the project he wanted to do or a similar name. Why do I think your focus will be G9? I don't see many 3D visual artists creating games with G9 models, most are G8 and 8.1 and also he doesn't want to be haunted by those fans who will call for the return of BB and Glamour as if they were zombies.

That's basically what another developer did, creating a game of his game's "Eric" as a TA in a medical school. He even added Lisa to that game.
That is my impression as well. Of course, I didn't see the game when the non-Max male protagonist was part of the game.
I realize that it must be very tempting for developers to "chase the money" and cater to the high rollers, but I prefer stories that are the writer's own vision, not written by deep pocket committees.

Sometimes I don't blame them, but the vast majority are succumbed to greed. Many years ago I already thought about writing books, my goal was not to earn money but to make a bestseller or else the book be very well evaluated so that the work is recognized. Money comes later. I ended up giving up on everything at the time.

I'm currently working on a couple of projects while waiting on repairs to my 4090 rendering machine. I'm currently working on getting my disability coverage from Social Security and will get regular retirement soon anyway, so I'm hoping I'm not going to be desperate enough the "chase the money." I'm hoping it will give me the safety net to concentrate on telling my stories as they are in my head.

Today is the last day of the month and the author has not written anything on the Patreon since July 7. And does anyone else doubt that Glamour is dead?

About the fact that the game is "dead". It's too early to say, seriously, some projects are updated every 3-6 months. But in general, it is disturbing, yes. IMHO: DS will post news after the end of the billing period on Patreon.
Regarding greed: I agree, the thirst for money "here and now" can outweigh common sense.
And in general, many, including developers, for some reason do not understand how Patreon, boosty, and similar platforms work. Any gaming development and writing activity is based on 3 things:
1) The author does it simply because he can and shares his result with everyone who wants it, if he gets a profit along the way - this is a nice bonus. That is, initially the goal is not to make money. Of course, this does not mean that he will refuse pleasant donations.
2) The author aims to earn money. By sharing concept, developments and updates, he attracts people who are willing to pay for it. Therefore, it is in his interests to find something with which he can attract an audience: early access, bonus privileges, and so on. In this case, the author is NOT OBLIGED to go along with the payers who demand something. Unless, of course, that was the intention in the first place. I have already seen such levels of subscriptions on patreon, but there it is usually limited in number (1-4) and costs much more (usually $ 100 and above).
3) The author initially works for money on order. That is, there is INITIALLY a group of persons (or one person) who describes the concept, for example, of the game that he wants to see in the end. The author (or a team of people) works and provides the development process to the sponsor, and in this case the author MUST fulfill the requirements of the people who pay him money.
Of course, there are particulars and often 1 turns into 2. But in general, it works like this.
Patreon and similar sites work according to the second model. No one forces you to pay authors. If you like it - pay, if you don't like it - DO NOT pay, it's simple. Of course, mutual courtesy is implied here, the author promises - the author does, subscribers pay. And of course, if the author starts to go somewhere into the swamp of incomprehensibility, this causes first bewilderment, then anger, then resentment, and then it just becomes indifferent and the outflow of subscribers begins.

Do I need to progress in Max story in order to progress in Kate story? Running 0.57 and I'm still waiting for Karen to visit house to talk to Julia and nothing else is triggering other than the daily routine, a long with a few other missions to progress and/or update.
And isn't it necessary to pay on Patreon on the 1st of every month? I thought that was it, but it's quite possible that I'm wrong. Since I had nothing to do with Patreon

You can play one without playing through the other, however they do inform each other somewhat so events in one give context to events in the other however the timeline makes very little sense between the two and events don't really line up a lot of the times

Yes, the monthly charge on patreon occurs every month on the 1st. Remarkably, money is debited regardless of when you started paying. You can subscribe on the 30th and still be charged again on the 1st.
Why 28? Because there are 28 days in February.
The game originally had an internet connection to check the subscriber level (online version). So, on the 28th, an update comes out, as a $40 subscriber you have access to it, and suddenly for some reason you didn’t pay for the subscription at the beginning of the month, boom - and you don’t have access to the new version.
Then DS abandoned the online version model and left only the offline one.
When there were a lot of subscribers and everything was fine, the model worked like this: payment is made on the 1st, then during the month the subscriber has access to update news and renders, at the end of the month - access to the update, thus 1 payment = 1 update. And then DS began to lose subscribers and to compensate for his income, he began to move updates to the beginning of the month, in order to in some cases get paid 2 times for one "biggest" update.
