Well, it's that landlady/childhood friend stuff. It was possible to change the relationship in options, but now I only see option to change relationship for Kate story. Why are options for Max's relationship missing? Does anybody know?

I'm seeing the same issue with .19. Only Kate and her sister are an option to change.
Nothing for Max's story. This is odd because of DS's patreon post saying Max's options are extensive.
Let's talk about NPC mapping system. Technically it was implemented in 0.18, but there was no actual dialogs/events that used it, so there was no point writing about it back then. But now is a good time to tell you about it since we had some time to start going over old texts and—more importantly—started using it in 0.19.
Now some of you might have looked into the settings menu and noticed the thing is, em, kind of massive. The good news is it's 100% optional, if you don't want to deal with it, feel free to skip the rest of the post, there will be no Game Over if you fail to learn how the NPC mapping works. It has default parameters and the game works just fine if you don't change anything.

Yes and No. Continued the same as the previous game but it was like this: Landlady, Roommate ... but you can trade it by going to NPC Mapping. And I don't think you'll have a problem with Patreon anymore.

I haven't been able to get it to load for the last 3 versions. I don't know what's changed, and I've tried deleting everything from the game folder to the user data folders, and even tried other drives, all without luck. The "Loading" turns red, and never progresses. Please let me know if you fix yours.

Today we're going to tell you about our next update, 0.21. Not long ago we had a poll about what content you want to see next, where Julia and the basement won and became the focus of 0.20. The fitness club was the runner up, so that's what we're focusing on in 0.21. We planned to add it into the game for a while now, you might remember the fitness club location being implemented into the game in earlier versions. At some point we disabled it since there was nothing to do in there. It's time to bring it back.
Generally speaking, we have big plans for the fitness club. Eventually we want to make it into a lucrative business opportunity for Kate. Something like a mini economic manager where players would be able to buy new equipment, new rooms around it to expand, etc. It will come later, though. For now we're focused on the story, and that's what we're going to add in 0.21.
Obviously, Julia is going to play a big role in the story. There will also be Lien and Neil, a new hotel resident. Well, not really new because, just like the fitness club, we added some images and sprites with him quite a long time ago, but players couldn't interact with him before. The new story will unlock the fitness club. We don't know if will have the time to add any functionality to the fitness club, but we're definitely going to make it relevant in the story because that's what we're focusing on in 0.21.

I'm pretty sure it's a bug, I restarted a new game and first thing I did was going to Ann, he gave me $20 of allowance.
They could be used if you'd share your machine guid as well (it's used as the encryption key):
