No you dont have to start all over again each time. DS recently switched to a new offline version. They way how you can import your saves can be found via the search function.

You have to wait at least 8 hours or more between classes. I think for some reason on my Max playthroughs you can only do maybe 2 courses per day. One in the morning (0:00 to 18:00) and one in the evening (18:00-23:00). Also check the pre-requisite requirements and that they are met for the advanced courses. If that is not working at all, then you may be bugged. When 0.29 Part 2 came out there was a huge issue with the Patreon cloud saves being wiped or corrupted. So many people got upset with lost saves and corrupted saves.

HOLD UP!! Please STOP until you check IF Max now has the stats to take advantage of the EDU courses.
For unless they were introduced in part 2, it would be a TOTAL waste of money,
For the only stat he had for an online course was Comms which he could max (No Pun) without buying a lesson.
Update
Just rechecked Max and he still has NO stats!
So DO NOT buy any EDU courses yet!

So I downloaded .29 offline fixed and when I run it everywhere that's supposed to be an image is black with a broken image icon. Is this something other people have experience? I even tried running my old .28 folder and now all the images are broken there, too

Your comment made me think of something. We often see two very vocal camps. First, those who complain when Max's game mirrors BB, and those when things develop differently. I'm somewhere in the middle. I'm looking forward to some arcs we had in the original (like Max getting into porn with Kira), but I also enjoy the new approach.
Personally, I wouldn't mind if that were a way for Kate to progress but resist the goal the School has in mind for her. Rather than being an "Hospitality Hostess"/sex slave at the club, she can go into the adult industry on her own power.

Offline versions
The saves are stored in a different location.
Therefore try moving your "leveldb" file
From
0.27:- C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\glamour\Local Storage\("leveldb")
To
0.28/0.29:- C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\glamour-updater\Local Storage\ ("leveldb")
(or just Copy and Paste it)

Anybody knows how to trigger smoking Alice? I have a quest, but Alice does not appear at the pool at all.
