Haven't given this much thought to a game's story and possible plot for a really long time.
But it's going to be interesting to see the approach this is going to take.

But it also hit me, would the player want diplomatic resolution at this point?
Might be a possibility since he didn't explode in rage this time, but probably got broken into pieces.

I had assumed Liberation would simply just be freeing the elves from the humans that are selling them, but that would be a good twist to the story.

I'm interested to know if all 3 routes are all going to be linked in some kind of way or if they are more like separate stories, for example if we pick beast route do we still get to have a story where we can help the elves or are they just practically ignored.

that's the point. I'm wild guessing(for fun really) because if MC goes for Liberation(and it's actually an elves-only route), what about the beastfolks? and same question for the Retribution route(which is "what about the elves?"). That's why i think, the routes will be like:

Retribution: You go for revenge, or "military redemption"(meaning that MC will start killing humans, and use the "Insignia Power" to show humans the pain and misery of a war that can't be won, which is basically what is happening to beastfolks when MC appeared in this world)

Compliance: MC keeps fighting beastfolks and be a human-weapon...and basically give up on being nice towards them(if it was a mass effect ending, would be the Destroy Ending...which i really hate)

Liberation: In a sense...Beastfolks and Humans, are enslaved...by the war itself...so as long as metaphors can go...i think if this was a mass effect ending, it should be the Synthesis/Green one. So i believe (and hope) that Liberation will be the classic utopistic route where MC fix everyone's problems, either with a different form of the Insignia Power, or through making notice that the issues of the war are based on mutual hate at this point (i mean...200 years of war? If it was for territories or economic reasons, this war would have been deemed as pointless or not worthy of wasting 200 years worth of soldiers and resources and tried to talk it over, you know, diplomacy and stuff...but whatever both factions did to each other was considered so awful and unforgivable that they're still fighting)

I think it's more just shock and broken, probably even guilt being that MC brought her in to the human camp. Also flying in to a rage over the death of a beast inside the human camp wouldn't exactly look good, not to mention the damage caused during the first time he flew in to a rage that he would risk hurting those that he currently considers friends (Squad members).

Well, the thing with Honey Select is Illusion is just a small company that doesn't really care.
The assets can also be completely user-made, without using any Illusion assets, so it barely even is a gray area.

Square-Enix on the other hand has a dedicated legal department and the developer is using their property without permission...
1 single report would probably be enough for an automatic cease-and-desist and the game being removed from Patreon.

someone must tell him, because the game itself is good...he knows how to use songs and stuff...it would be depressing to see this game dying for this reason

so based off first impressions of what I saw in the first 10 minutes, I'm not sure if MC is supposed to be male, as dialogue says they are, or if they are futa/trans due to the way they look. it makes playing the game confusing because we don't get a clear answer. now I'm not saying it's a bad game but you should try to make the gender role more visible as we never know since MC has a torn shirt and we see muscles but also seems to have a girlish face leading us to believe they are trans/futa. developer, please make it more defined before going too far into the game's life

He has a penis, uses the He/his/him pronoun, i think MC is a hermaphrodite that considers himself as a male XD??...considering how bad-looking are the actual generic MCs(even on Honey Select 2) i'm actually okay with how this MC looks like

I mean, i don't think you should care, if you're here for the plot...and the general lack of sex-scenes in these two initial chapters(prologue + chapter 1) kinda tells you that this is a serious story with possible porn on the side(which it's not the main focus)

I disagree, there is a clear answer within the first explanation given by Leatrix in the wagon (?) or right after.

The main Genre listing for the game shows both, Trans/Futa and Male protags. I can go either way if he is gonna look androgynous but claim to be male. But looks like it's all covered for the moment!

One bug I've noticed on Android at least is that after the fighting mini game you just completely lose the buttons above the text box which means no skipping, no going back, and no manual saving.

I mean in greek mythology humans(before gods interfered) were these beautiful physically perfect beings with both males and female traits( = they were hermaphrodite <-- "casually" the word Hermaphrodite has the name of the Greek goddess of beauty Aphrodite in it) and the gods were so jealous of this utopia where everyone was perfect and happy and at peace with themselves that they rip in half every single human thus creating men and women. Ancient Greeks believed that when you meet the man(or woman) of your life, you actually met the other half of yourself.

(I wanna thank my middle-school literature teacher and my middle-school religion teacher for being open-minded and combined both their lesson just for this specific greek-story)

seriously, i'm grateful that he didn't put a puzzle or some weird riddle thing, or math-problems or something like fire emblem(where if a character dies in battle, is gone forever). I don't think the dev will listen to this kind of pointless feedback, anyway.
