Not really sure what I can say or do here? I'm just using the engine. I can't take out a virus that I'm not putting in there.
There are 2 addons that I'm using that aren't my code but those are for stuff in the editor and are excluded from being packaged when I build the exe, so it wouldn't be from there so uhhhh...?

... It's registering as Aicat.A once unpacked ...
So, says: "This spreads by attaching its code to other files on your PC or network. Some of the infected programs might no longer run correctly.". So there is a high chance that it is actually your computer that s infected. And the virus infecting the files you download. Compute sha256 hashsum of the exe file, it should be "64FE5FD2F26A8F22EC8713E9F9B8C2583E20D27FE058D1B923131DFBB2105F66". It can be done with Powershell command `Get-FileHash '.\Going Deeper Alpha-9.1 Public.exe'`.

If the hashsum value is ok, then I assume it is false-positive. I tend to trust VirusTotal more than shitty windows defender.

I only downloaded from Mega, and still got it, so I'd be cautious still.
i don't know i tried to understand how the virus is supposed to work. it slow your pc, and it is possible that it duplicates himself, it seems hard to remove, windows defender seems to say it is active and when you try to supress it, it comes back in 30 seconds.

There is no virus. When mirrors are done, these things are checked. False-positive stuff is an often occurance, and many anti virus softwares tend to be overly sensitive to something that doesn't even exist in the first place.

Relax about it.

Computers are mysterious things, once couldn't get multiplayer for a game to work because a webcam was plugged in.

As was said, the files were checked and everything was fine when they were first uploaded on february 20th. Something must have changed with antivirus definitions that is causing them to do false positives.
I've updated the links on the first page to reuploads of 9.1, though it is the exact same file that I put up on itch.
I've also put the uploaded file on VirusTotal with no problems

And submitted it to microsoft as a false positive (turn them microHARD with this porn game babeeeeyyy)

Not really sure what else I can do, but this is really not what I needed as someone who was already STRESS about how tf I'm going to finish all the content I want to for my (admittedly self-imposed) deadline.

Well I can't comment on whether or not the game truly has a virus or not, I'm not interested in unpacking the software to check thoroughly. Hopefully this gets resolved so the dev can refocus.

It's really really weird when it only happens to this specific game got flagged as a virus (when other games that also using the same engine didn't get flagged) by some specific computers (when other pc can play it normally).

Even mine got flagged when I uploaded it two/three days ago. And I am fairly certain there is nothing in there.

This is so weird, I use Windows Defender on every package I download from here or tangential website, and only today did Defender pick up an issue.

I usually scan both the archive and the unzipped, I don't get how it went from "clean" to "not clean".

Interesting. Sounds like it really was a change in their virus definitions, then. Would also explain why people just started speaking up about it a few days ago, despite the update being almost a month old.

if i had to guess either one of two things are likely ops computer has the virus, or its a a heuristic bit of guesswork of some sort being set off by some line of code it doesnt understand. i bet the later as i highly doubt op would spread a virus here when they just wanna make their game.

Well, in non-virus-related news... Tweets!

Oh cool, it's sexy booby lady from the teaser. ...In Japanese horror movie form. She just wants hugs. Yay...?

comical boing sound effect

I'm guessing that sound effect is supposed to imply ass expansion. Although it looks like her thighs might have gotten hit, too...

*Squints* ...Kunt Kuin? Was this someone's edgy band name from when they were teenagers that they want to erase from everyone's memory? I'll bet everyone kept pronouncing the second word as "Quinn", too. "No, Dad, it's pronounced cunt queen. Gawd, your generation just doesn't get it."
