I thought I would leave the comments section for this game untill the next release, but the amount of over sensitive souls wondering this threat forced my hand.
Go play the last update to the Deluca Family to get some perspective! Haley was sexually active with her teacher. While technically statutory rape, I think people need some perspective.
There are literally things that can happen to people that are a 1000 x times worse. In the bigger scheme of things what happened to her was relatively insignificant compared to some other horrors of life. Not trying to make light of it and also depending on the information we know as fact, up to know.
I get that some people felt the change in tone came out of nowhere and does not want to continue, but to suggest that this was the worst thing out there, even on this forum is a bit ignorant.
This game does not contain anything close to borderline content except the incest. It deals with complex issues that deeply effects the relationship of the two main characters. I'm looking forward to how everything will unfold. I do not think the Dev will change his game and I for one would hate it if he does due to player pressure. Then it's not his story anymore, but the fan's story...and frankly, I much prefer him to tell his story. I would not like to play any story compiled by the complainers on here, as I'm sure that it would suck.
It's a pet peeve for me if Dev/writers change their story to please the fans. Sure constructive criticism is good, but in the end, it's not your story to tell.
BTW...there is not NTR or Rape currently present in the game, the fact that it is referenced in the past does not make it part of the game.
What worst happens in real life isnt even an arguement.

Let the story unfold and play the game. Stop read between the lines and get riled up, it serves no purpose. If people don't end up like it, then stay clear. It's that simple really.
If I start read a book and figure out it's not of my liking after a chapter or two, I don't contact the writer to demand him write a new book for me.

It is an event that happened in the game. You do not need to like it. I do not like the event, but it enriches the story for me.
There are also a ton of games on here with much more disturbing content.

It's called telling a story... you might have heard of it. Sometimes stories touches darker themes. There are other games on this site with much darker themes then this one, see point above.
Some of the best books/movies contains dark themes. Arguable the best scene in Game of Thrones were the "red wedding" that was a horrible scene all round.
So do you only want happy games? With no drama? Good for you, there are plenty of them out there. I can even give you a list of them. And some of them are really good.
I do not mind feel good games as well, but the occasional game with darker themes, is refreshing for me.
Some can also cross the line for me (or come close to), Then I will state my opinion on it, in the thread, like you do here and if it becomes too much, I will stop playing the game and stop visiting the thread.
It is fine if you do not like the new direction of Haley, but I actually enjoyed the last 2 updates. I also hate Klaus, but what can you do. Shit happens. That does not mean I hate the game.
I hated Jeoffry in GOT, but I still liked the series (Up to season 5

I did not tell you to leave, but I think you made your point. This exact same topic has been discussed in ad nauseum, just after the update was released. After a while it starts to become tiresome.(I only said what I normally do if I start disliking a game)
If you still enjoy playing the game, by all means continue posting here. If you don't enjoy the game anymore and still want to post...sure thing, I just don't see the point.
What does get under my skin (Not saying you did that), is when people try to get the Dev to change his game. Now that really annoys me. If ppl think they can do better then the dev, they should just write their own game. Constructive criticism and fan opinion is good, but it should stay just that. Advice to the dev, that the dev can choose to ignore, use or not use to his liking.
Pressuring the dev to change his story to what the fans like, is not cool in my book. The normal argument is NTR/Non-NTR fans trying to get the dev to change his story. It's fine to state your opinion but at some stage one should let the dev get on with the story his got in mind. There is enough abandoned games on here where the dev lost his passion for the game.

You obviously don't know why people complain about. Yes, TDF is the great game - among my favourites and Luna is my No. 1 - but TDF was from the start a mix of light and dark tones. We know who is Luna and we know she didn't become out of blue like that.
Haley? Haley was nothing but a light romance with expected incest route as the game progress. And then it started - out of blue and without logic - at first with Haley's "Daddy" idiocy. Some players didn't like that and - lo and behold - they were right. And even AFTER we learned about "pedo Santa Claus", Haley continues with her "Daddy" shit. Why is that important? It's important cause you mentioned game doesn't have NTR or rape... Well - either writer is autistic so he doesn't know what he is doing with this "Daddy" trope and Klaus story or he is preparing the path for real daddy. But, hey! That wasn't enough! No, sir! So, now we have two girls with the history of being raped/molested.
And you are right about one thing: I also wouldn't like for an author to change the story because of fans but this is no longer a story - this is a joke. And I would advise people to play it just to see how more stupid this can become.

Haley's Story is a complete work. You've only seen part of it. Go read the first chapter of The Lord of the Rings. It's a lighthearted comedic novel about those silly Hobbits, right?
I know you don't grasp how dominance and submission work, but for someone who does it was all quite plain and easy to understand from the beginning.

I Actually do get your point about the light hearted romance turning darker. I just think people are overblowing what happened and are losing their marbles. My point about TDF, was to illustrate that there are much worse things that can happen to characters in a game then what happened to Haley, that was relatively mild in comparrison.
Regarding her calling the MC "Daddy". Personally, for me the "daddy" pet-name is extremely irritating. It is irritating in any game I play. I did not like it in Depraved Awakening and I do not like it in Haley. But I realise, that that is just my personal preference. So it's an irritation that I live with, when playing adult games containing this. It was irritating for me before the last 2 updates. I'm not reading any alterior motives into the whole daddy, since I did not like it in general.
The way I read it is much more simple. It's a playful name she calls him. The MC (like myself) tolerated it, but since he's annoyed with the Klaus story, it's grating on him and asks her to stop. Haley, being Haley, likes to annoy her brother and does not stop. Simple...that is how I read the whole "Daddy" thing. I think you are reading waaaayy to much into it.
So I just do not see the big deal about the last 2 updates. Haley has some skeletons in the closet, she brought it up in an inappropriate time. She keeps being evasive about it, possible feeling guilty about while being the victim.
TLDR; I understand people feeling upset about the change in pace and the darker turn of the game, but for me it just made the game more interesting.

This is why I question your ability to interpret text. What in this extract makes you conclude that Sandra must have been raped? I mean, she could have been — a lot of women have — but the MC didn't mention rape and neither did Victor. Why would Adriana know whether or not Sandra was raped? She encourages the MC to talk to Victor, not Sandra. Why would Victor's response to Sandra being raped be "she should really be more discreet"? Why do you conclude that whatever they don't finish talking about refers to Sandra? Are you sure it doesn't refer to Victor? In what language does "abused" always mean "raped"? You don't know any of these answers. None of us do.

Learn to read words. Victor isn't referring to Haley. You don't know what he's referring to, other than that the word "abused" triggered it. Here's what Victor said in that exchange:
"[My niece] should really be more discreet. She shouldn't have told you."
Told him what? You don't know. The MC doesn't know. No players know. This is another of your private illusions.

Actually there Is a line before that makes all the difference.
MC asking what would you do if someone Hurt somebody you love (or Some thing similar. Dont remember exactly).
If they rape or abuse victor instead of sandra in next update for sure they will be People arguing that with the "somebody you love" line MC was refering to victor. That it makes sense and that their loving relationship whas there clearly shown before in the script.
If they rape victors boyfriend for example they will still follow the same pattern
Afterall the dude seems suspiciously quiet and uneasy with People. A perfect rape candidate. Raping him at As point of the story must be mandatory.
