Renderwise we have Devs on a totally different Level. See badik or cod or a dozen of other games.

Animation wise see the above or betrayal.

Story wise see df or Light of my life.

See New Dev with charisma As the Dev of unleashed. See facial expressions or different things happening on screen at the same time.

Even see Hot sex scenes from a guy that can hardly render in midlife crisis. Cant render but can deliver Hot dialoques Besides "pant.. pant"

Dev are evolving and you can see signs of brilliance in many Games. Story, cinematography feeling, Hot sex scenes.

Cant see any signs of brilliance raping the main fc. Or backtracking and raping a fc Mother we havent even seen.

It's importance to the game seemed to be to make Sandra less likable than Haley and for those that broke up with Sandra, it is unlikely to be important in the future.

What Sandra 'seemed to be' is entirely in the eyes of each individual player, and can hardly be extrapolated from one's own individual experience to others.

As for Sandra's importance to the future of the game, you raise an interesting point that I have pondered. Even if your MC breaks up with her, her history can be used as an object lesson. Having Haley talk with Sandra is an option regardless. She and the MC may break up, but that does not mean that she is no longer a friend to Haley. Also, I may have been guilty of conflating the resolution of Haley's emotional issues with the problem of finding a way to keep Haley and the MC together - the 'beard solution', which has nothing to do with Klaus.

I an glad you brought up Being a DIK, DrPinkCake's current masterpiece. [No, I am NOT being sarcastic.] I assume you know about his first game, Acting Lessons. How did you feel about THAT ending? Did you see that coming? You are appalled by rapes in a porn game. How about death by arson of one of the two main love interests at the end? [The player gets to choose which one! Yippee!] Do you think that didn't cause an uproar and lose a bunch of supporters?

Sorry for being off-topic, but nope. This was your typical coming of age college setting story with a happy end for the first three books, until it was not. First there was some unimportant side character being killed off. Then the story turned into torture and war. And suddenly the main cast was killed off right, left and center.

Except for, y'know, murder setting the entire plot in motion, attempted murder of a baby, and continued attempted murders of children for those first three books. Just typical "college setting stor[ies] with a happy end".

Alright I'll concede the point that people feel more strongly about their media if they are consuming it piecemeal. Still i see the way this conclusion is being used as an overreach. You'll claim that you're only talking about how strongly people feel but in the same message compare it to someone who is on their cell phone watching a movie and then go a step further and ask if their reccomendation is just as valuable as someone who is a cinephile. Its heavily implied that the opinions of recent players are less valid and less informed than people who have been playing longer. As for wishy washy anecdotes people are going to claim they took their time reading or that it took them a couple days to get through the game and others will tout the months of support theyve given its all just shit to try and validate their experience with the game over others. In the end arguing about how long and how attentively people played the game is far less appealing to me then how they interpreted the game. For instance i've played the game since before there was any sexual content does that provide any extra context for my opinions or feelings that you find useful?

You've got it all wrong. I'm not saying that people that just played this recently are akin to people that watch movies while on their phone. You said you didn't like to discuss why and how people's opinion's were formed, and I tried to explain a way in which it matters. Obviously you disagree and that's fine, but it's a valid conversation regardless of your feelings.

Your point being? The rape was added in August thus anything before that is really meaningless to the arguments being made. I know that also includes June and July in the four month plateau but I'm more interested in that for statistical reasons.

By the way, I have never claimed that Haley's Story was the best porn game around. It definitely is not. There are several other developers who write better and with more humor. Not to mention the games that have fewer bugs. You are absolutely right, Viitgames can't hold a candle to DrPinkCake in game creation. But (and I've said this at least twice, but it still holds), in no other game, porn or otherwise, have I been so immersed in the two main characters. I empathized with Haley and the MC from the start. This redounds to the credit of Viitgames and whoever else has been involved in their development. I empathize with other characters in other games as well (and I play a ton of them), but none surpasses Haley and the MC. It's not even close. At least not to me. They almost seem to be one character, inseparable.

I have to disagree. MC is terribly developed (and not in a self insert kind of way). MC and Haley's relationship and sibling banter is what I personally think is the best thing about this game, and the fact that they might ruin that for the sake of figuring out the rape is the final nail in the coffin for me.

While there are indeed better games, I have not seen any other game that did the brother-sister incest so well that it was downright creepy. It really felt that Haley was the MC's sister and she was trying to corrupt him.
