Honestly, it's quite clear why the endings are as bad as they are.

viitgames plainly got sick of this game and wanted to get it over with. The updates from 0.90 onwards were just short bit updates with almost no plot in them (other than the confrontation with the father). There was no feeling behind the story anymore. So this was sadly just more or less them saying "I'm done, I have no inspiration left here".

Haley started around the same time as other incest games, (like Parental Love and Sisterly Lust) especially one other twincest game (My Sister, My Roommate). But it has lasted twice as long as those did. It's honestly just been too long, all the drama really unfolded before what many of us would call "The Turn" where Haley talked about the teacher and most of us felt the game started taking a downward dive.

It's sad when something that started out great and ambitious turned into this at the end.

Hopefully if vittgames has another project after this, they'll find more lasting inspiration with it.
But at the very least, they aren't like other devs recently who cancel games and then bring up their new projects, with expectations of being paid certain amounts for their work.
My thoughts exactly! ;)

Yeah that's gonna mindfuck your casual player, should just be "patched", but thanks for clearing this up.
Surely the simplest way to describe it would be "uncensored"? Because that's why an incest patch was even necessary in the first place- because the game had been necessarily censored to meet Patreon standards, right?

Such an emotionally wrenching story with a dropped ending.
The writing on this was incredible and the conversations and stunned disbelief in what they had done struck me as something very realistic. The play between the brother/sister relationship and lovers was really impressive. Almost all of the other games drop the family part of the relationship and just fuck, no sign of internal turmoil or acknowledgement of what they are doing.

To be clear I do prefer the games where the family fucks for reasons other than love. This was too deep.
This game have the best interaction between brother and sister i've seen in a game with incest, the connection of MC and Haley feels so real, its a shame the ending wasn't so great like the rest of the story, but it could be worse i guess.

Tbh. I find people being surprised at most of the endings being lacklustre a bit odd.

The reason is hiding in plain view. The name of the game is "Haley's Story".

I find your comparisons interesting since I never felt any kind of emotional drama or similar in Parental Love or Sisterly Lust whatsoever. You just went around fucking everything. Which doesn't have to make for an unenjoyable experience, but they were going for something very different and way shorter.

Oh I wasn't making plot comparisons, just denoting that they stared their development around the same time to give a basis by which how much longer Haley has been running past the end of those others.

Knowing it was Ptolemy writing this and his history, I was ready for the worst ending. But instead, it was a perfect one. Dad knew what was up, yet he still supported the twins, no matter what.

All the bitching and moaning about lackluster endings and others saying the game started downhill after the teacher plot twist.

Why are you all surprised by this? This is a trademark of almost every game pothead is involved in:
Great beginnings, off-the-wall plot twists (usually about the half-way point) and endings that could have very well been replaced with, "And they lived happily ever after (or maybe not)".

It's to the point that I ignore any game they're involved in until they're completed, play it through, then tell myself,
"Yep, that was pothead".

I am sorry, but then I understand your comparison even less. On the one hand, development time in and of itself is not a criterion of the quality of content, on the other, Haley has more content than the two mentioned games.

Unfortunately, 'censored' has a completely different meaning on F95, and indicates a game where portrayals of the genitalia have been pixelated - usually Japanese games.

Yes, you clearly don't understand. I mean, they started to be developed around the same block of time, and were at about the same level of popularity. Where as the previously stated games had a relatively simple plot, there still was one (More so in SL) and it was ended on a much more satisfying note because the Developers were done with the game while it was still a fresh enough project to be excited about.

Haley on the other hand has lasted twice the amount of time, but the second half of it had a massive decline in the story simply because it dragged on too long and it shows that the developer got tired of making this game but had ever intention of finishing it somewhere they could be happy with it ending. This can be seen in multiple things, like the slimming down of the paths from 6 girls to 4. Dianne and Alana are mostly ignored after a certain point. Lisa's path, if you want to call it that, is more like she's a vagabond who jumps in and out of your relationship and nothing real ever developed there. When the game got to the end there were only 2 paths that really mattered. Haley and Sandra/Haley. So those are the ones that were mainly concentrated on.

Where the 3 games differ a lot in plot, they came out during the post Milfy City period of time where the incest games were especially big and this one simply lasted too long. Between small updates and seemingly stretching out the development time either to make more money or to find the inspiration to work on it, the dev clearly had just lost all interest in making the endings anything worthwhile by now.

Okay, thanks for explaining. I still do not agree, since I will look at a game from the angle of "what is the finished product like" so dev time is less of a matter to me. I see however how it will be of interest to people who continuously support a game (I only buy or use other methods like buymeacoffee for one off payments).

I also see the game in a more positive light. I will agree on everything Dianne, Alana, and Lisa you said, but I do think the main stories (Sandra+Haley, Haley solo) are infinitely more interesting as a story than PL or SL. Again, I don't want to denigrate the other two games here. But that's probably a matter of taste.

As for the big "I" games - I think they were around before the-game-which-shall-not-be-named was around and are still going strong - sometimes too strong methinks. But what makes this one different is that you do not go around having fun with the whole family (even though the "can we boink momma?" kept coming up) but with a single person you care about who just happens to be family. Even though the player "gets around" it never feels like a Pokégirl collection, while almost all others do. (PL from your list can be played in this way, too, but only on certain paths)

But I can see your point and there is a bit of "sequelitis" in this. (Normally refers on how you have to one up the story and problems of the first movie in the sequel, here it is all in one, but similar - first part we need to come to terms with our situation, then suddenly a teacher appears, then ... well, you get my drift).

But again thanks for answering, I really did not get what you were aiming at.

Almost bittersweet that it's ending. Would have liked more with the Fuckbuddy, but I'm ok not having it. I went ahead and did 3 endings, One exclusively with Haley, one with Bosslady, and one with the girl with the fat boyfriend. Could just be missing a path but Fuckbuddy said fuckbuddy, so it seems like not.
