Regarding the "how long it went", I meant the affair. I haven't finished the game yet, but I reach the part when she explains that after Mr. Klaus guilted her into having an affair with him, it lasted 3 weeks. We don't know how much he abused in the meantime, but either way it's extremely uncomfortable to read. I get the devs make the story they want, but things like this are very rough on the players of a game that's supposed to be about romance. This is porn at the end of the day, people watch it to feel better not worse.

Either way, in a game where the twin sister is supposed to be in love with the MC since forever, the existance of a boyfriend at all is very "lore breaking" and the existance of a rapist 30 years older is just to cause pain to the reader/MC. All in all, decisions the dev is and will always be free to make... But it still doesnt make them good decisions ahahahah

But I've seen this in a lot of other games, whenever someone claims they don't enjoy rape present in a game that presents itself as easy-going, all the rape enjoyers come out of the woodwork to defend it.

Maybe put a tag somewhere so people don't get blindsided, I came for wholesomeness and got hit by the rape train.

The teacher that molest her is part of the background story. A mcguffin to drive the story. It's not slapped in your face graphical. You are really blowing this up into a huge nothingburger...

How do you define "destined to bring (...)" - because all kinds of media, movies, books, music, games, offer parts of it that can be cruel, scary, sad, depressing, mean, ugly, whatever negative emotion you want - and yet people like it as escapism. Why should the genre of Adult VNs be different? You may use or like them differently, most games may cater to "happily walking around and sticking P into V as often as possible", but not every game is like that, nor should it necessarily be.

I generally use the tags and the synopsis to try and understand the game. Most games with any sort of tough to digest content does present the tag with said content. Additionaly, some devs make an extra spoiler detailing warnings for certain content. Since this one was detailed as a Romance and none of the tags suggested anything like this, it gives the impression of a soft game.

Furthermore, at least 50% of the game you have no idea this is coming towards you, it's a pretty wholesome experience getting to know the girls and watching the relationship between the MC and Haley blossom. This is just dropped immediately after they have sex for the first time, literally imediately.

This suggests that since the main seduction had just occured for one of the paths, the dev didn't know how to have any drama remaining for the rest of the game and ass-pulled the whole situation to add some spice very late in development, hence why it seems so out of place.

Everyone can justify things however they want in their own head, so I know nothing I'll say will change anyones opinion. I just comment in the hopes that devs and prospective devs for these stories don't fall into the same traps. I would like if this trend would stop happening in 90% of these Harem games - this mediocre drama over something that the dev feels they need to add when the story seems to become more stale.

EDIT: I almost forgot - another proof that this wasn't really plan was how it was resolved. In a pretty rushed manner, no real discussion is viewed, it never seems like Haley opens up about it we are just left to wonder what happened and what she said to the therapist. The MC isn't really any help to her and, since we know and the MC knows what happened, the whole "daddy" thing feels bad for both us and the MC in-game (he tells her not to say it a bunch of times). So the whole daddy thing we had going on gets ruined as well.

The problem is people want a game/story to apply to their own preference and narrative, rather than accept it for what it is. Then start make up flaws because it doesn't fit into their perfect world.

And why should they concede their opinion to somebody else's (your) opinion? You have made a good point in that and why you do not like this part of the story. So far so good. But then you try to reason that this, your opinion, is somehow anything objectively factual, that this kind of drama you do not like is objectively mediocre writing. But what people enjoy isn't "objective", good writing after a certain point isn't "objective" - even the most respected critics will disagree on the value of certain art.

I disagree, I think the Klaus thing was planned from the beginning but possibly the reason why it was hastily resolved was the backlash from the community.

As for the daddy thing, it's clear that Haley has a, let's say, complicated psyche. Which I think is part of her charm, but it's possible that it was caused or increased by the Klaus situation.

Also, I think that the devs intention was to create a more realistic type of incest story than the harem type that you see normally. This requires deep characters with major and minor flaws. On a tangent to that, according to some statistics, up to 1 in 3 women has experienced some kind of sexual violence or non-consentual acts. So it is rather underrepresented in these games, unless you include the actions of the MC's of other games.

Tell me something: this game as an excellent romance between two characters. That's the main thing that makes these games better than regular porn, it's the romance and the relationships. Does the rape really enhance the experience?
