He just started working on it less than a few weeks ago. It's going to be a while. I wouldn't expect anything within the next few months but you never know.

The release date for the next update depends on what the dev has planned. If he uses assets that are featured in previous updates, the update will happen sooner. If he has to create completely new environments, like in EP8, the update will stall. Keep in mind the size of the bonus episodes he works on affect the release schedule, too. From the teasers so far it looks a big portion of the update will take place in the halfway house, which in theory will speed up the release. He started working on it a month ago, so my guess is a late July or August release, but we'll see.

I love Emily so much. I really hope her and the MC begin their relationship in this episode. I'm not talking about "lewdness" but maybe they'll at least start to figure things out. Wondering what Sam is discussing with her but she looks so cute.

yeah, we dont need any "lewdness" at all, we are perfectly fine to go for another two years/9 episodes, just to slow build mc relationship with Em, Ash, Sam and other girls...we are here for an interesting story, occasional glimpses of bright in mcs mind, and nice cars.
sory, i had to be sarcastic - im not usually into quick fuck/fucke-em-all games, yet a few of slow-building games have become quite ridiculous (and sorry to say, those defending it as well, imo) in that slooow department.
this one is probably the prime example - and it has been discussed a dozen times already - there are side chicks, there is a "normal" (well, sort of) mc, there are opportunities, yet there is nothing truly/fully lewd yet..i know you are talking of lewdiness with Em only, yet im quite certain extrapolation of that statement/thought would be "we dont need any lewdness here, we are happy just figuring things out for various girls".

Smart-ass tone aside for a second, I happen to really enjoy this game and the flirty back and forth between the MC and Emily. Every couple of episodes he tries to push her along a little bit. You can see her slowly giving a little bit more leeway to him, and I really enjoy that. Makes me think of a girl at work I knew many years ago and we started out the same way. It's nice to not go gung-ho on a girl (there's plenty enough like that out there for people). I like the slow game, the big picture. Yeah he's 19 and all, figuring things out (like her) but you can sort of see both of them coming to grips with how much they like each other.
Just how I see it. I've said it on this site MANY times. I am a story guy. You want porn or lewdness, plenty of places on the internet for that.

This should be an adult lewd site (damn, now im sounding like a troll), there (probably) is a plenty of online places for lewd-free stories as well.
And if someone repeatedly is stating "im a story guy" here, putting all lewd stuff aside, thats kinda out of place, imo.
There are all kind of users/consumers here, ones who wanna instant fuck-fest, ones who dont need any lewd regardless if the game goes on for six month or six years, those are happy with the story/slow build, and those in between.
Nothing wrong to be any of those, and you are free to promote your views around.
Imo those views are wrong (this game as example), yet that doesnt mean im right, smartass or anything.

Man I am getting ganged up on today. It's story. It's connecting with a character. It's not about how far you can take her in bed or how wide you can stretch her out.
Yeah, this place today needs some attitude adjusting. Maybe it's how I was raised, but a good story is what I look for. (Katie, Cece, Emily, Charlotte, Avalon, etc)
If you can't form some sort of emotional bond with a character, then all you're really doing is mouse-clicking many times just to get to a sex scene. If there's not a story between the MC and the girl involved (and it's just there for fan-service and eye-candy) then it's meaningless.

Yes. Unfortunately. I love Halfway House, but it has now become one of the slowest updating games here. At the current rate of development, we will likely see the next update in November.

I am honestly impressed by how "clean" the renders look and how much detail there is in the background. It's the Dev's first game but i am seeing things in it that i haven't seen in games from much more experienced devs.
Both the characters and the environment look like they've been rendered far more than in most games, it's hard to explain i am a noob at this but the level of detail from the clothes, to every part of the characters body to the house they live in, just gives of this sense like it's a real, breathing world. The characters being likeable and interesting also helps obviously.

Same. If the game has a shitty story, I just use a gallery unlocker. Can't say I'm liking this game though. I don't like Goth Girl(Do you know how many STDS she must have? I wouldn't fuck a prostitute IRL, won't do it in game)and Samantha......hot? Really? Yeah, no. Emily is the only one I like, but the MC ruins it even more. I don't like how passive he is(Allows goth girl to step on his crotch, which infuriates me). The "Blackmail" she pulled pissed me off even further(I'll tell Emily how much of a perv you are and tell Luis what we did together, something like this).
I tried to make it past the first train scene, but I just couldn't. If you like story games check out Deluca family if you haven't. One of the best games I've played. The MC has character progression too from what I've seen so far. Goodbye!

I am totally with you Mark. I am not quite as disciplined as you, to avoid all other characters in a game, but I would be happy with many more updates of back and forth between the MC and Emily. In my experience, once the full on sex scene happens with the main LI, most of the time, the story quality goes steeply downhill. The witty banter, the will they or won't they, that is what makes the game fun for me.
I wouldn't mind a little more fun with some of the side characters, Sam's friends, or even better Dr. Kunieda. Hopefully sometime in the next few updates.
