I am totally with you Mark. I am not quite as disciplined as you, to avoid all other characters in a game, but I would be happy with many more updates of back and forth between the MC and Emily. In my experience, once the full on sex scene happens with the main LI, most of the time, the story quality goes steeply downhill. The witty banter, the will they or won't they, that is what makes the game fun for me.
I wouldn't mind a little more fun with some of the side characters, Sam's friends, or even better Dr. Kunieda. Hopefully sometime in the next few updates.
That's how I feel about this in a way. Emily and the MC have a wonderful little thing back and forth. I'm afraid that'll change once they become closer. I know she calls him an idiot all the time but at this point, it's more of a term of affection. Yes I want to see a happy ending, a nice story, but certain things have me concerned like the MC being put in the middle of the grandfather/Ash situation. That will definitely affect the relationship he has with Em. I love their flirty back and forth but how much will change once they take that next step. I almost can't picture Emily going that far.
To me, she's not like other LIs in other games. I would almost feel bad progressing with her because she's well, very innocent in that way. If the scene, the buildup, and even the dialogue is right and proper for whenever it does happen, it'll feel much better and more natural than this awkwardness they have with each other now. I don't think Emily would give herself up unless the MC actually admits he seriously cares about her.
I like the step-by-step thing they're doing. They're slowly getting used to the "boy-girl thing" and being around and with each other. A few more updates where they become more friendly and less awkward would be great. I think he should try to kiss Em around the other people in the house, maybe that'll give her some self-confidence about all of it? I know they're both young and whatnot, but if they held hands more in public or openly kissed, it would be pretty interesting to see how it all plays out. I mean, they were going to go clothes shopping right? That could be the start of something, well, "next level" with them.
PS: Yeah I stay totally committed to the girls I choose in these games. I do watch the scenes in whatever gallery unlocker mods I use, and yes I miss tons of content, but that doesn't bother me. Can't pick and choose who you connect with. With me, it's very natural and the connection with the LIs I choose is very strong and normally it's some similarity we have that does it.
