Vanessa is both extremely naïve and annoying. The writing for her character is extremely heavy-handed and honestly reminds me of apologists who preach about change and constantly want to get people involved in protests/riots with zero regard for who might be hurt by their actions and never actually put themselves in danger or get physically involved. Also the fact that she was snooping around the hotel and openly said "I found your secret lair" in front of the rest of the girls in kali's event made it even more clear how naïve/stupid her character is. The message she preaches is nice but the way she's going about it is slightly infuriating and makes me dislike her character.
That's kind of the point.

This is actually completely wrong and the opposite of her character. She is exactly the type to put herself in danger for others, and actually does this. And will be shown directly doing this in the future. She literally told you she would be happy being a martyr.

Opinions are fine, if you hate her, you hate her. But much of this is also wrong and it seems like you ignored her character and what's going on because she's in college and has brightly colored hair.

This comment specifically shows how much you've misunderstood what I was going for. She's hinting at finding your dungeon, which she doesn't actually know about, but the others assume you now have, and if they were to check, they would find your dungeon. She protected you here in a very clever way.

I meant more that she's supposed to come across as a being a bit much when introduced. Like with Ashley, I don't think she's supposed to be well liked immediately on introduction and instead is meant to become more understandable and likeable as her story progresses. She first seems like she's all talk and overzealous, but we've seen that she's not afraid to actually do something about elven slavery and that things really are as bad as she says. She's the first character who points out how fucked up slavery is without having been a victim of it, and everyone in the hotel who's joined the fight has done so for personal reasons, but her essentially verbally assaulting the player character right off the bat can be off putting.

I'll also say that I didn't like Ashley at first, but she's become one of my favorite characters.

I think Runey himself said he would revamp her intro scenes, she was not well received at all at first (intentional or not). She has grown on the vast majority of players since then of course but i think he is maybe wanting to make a better first impression with new players with her (especially as she is seemingly going to be the most important side character in the entire game, she is already getting a great deal of focus story and development wise - with content which feels IMO integral to the narrative of the plot such as the visit to the museum covering the wanted posters which in fact is lore heavy related to plot featured in other main character narratives... something which feels more "main" than "side" girl in all honesty).

I see, yes you were right that's a part of the point.

She has no idea that you two are on the same side. She sees a slaver (you) walk in with the daughter of the richest man in the world, and top 10 owners of slaves by quantity and can only assume you're an enemy. I think many people would if something like this happened in our world.

Why does the MC not realize that the queen of the elves is using fairies even if he's met them during ashley's story? We saw the blue flash, creating wind(with wings), invisibility, objects moving when the fairies are invisible, and the ability to hear things without being there(invis fairies) so why does the MC still ask the queen if she is using magic instead of using deductive reasoning to call the queen out for using fairies? He doesn't acknowledge that fairies are even a possibility which doesn't really make sense to me

Walkthrough / Cheat Mods (0.14.1 Public)

Since Lain is still MIA, I decided to give this game my Walkthrough / Cheat Mod treatment based off of her original mod.
I have revamped some of her mod work and updated other parts of her mod.

"Hah hah, I've worked out that your claims of magical power are fake, you're just using faeries!" seems like a monumentally stupid thing to say to the woman who can have you killed by her guards on a whim. Doing so reveals that you know too much to be allowed to go free, and keeping you locked up for a prolonged period of time wouldn't benefit her at all. She'd have you killed pretty much on the spot.

I meant more that she's supposed to come across as a being a bit much when introduced.
I mean, Vanessa is one of those people who doesn't have middle gears, and she can sometimes be presumptive (she assumed she knew who Kali was as a person, just because she knew who her father was) but she's also been shown to be more willing than most people to change her opinions/beliefs when presented with new information.
But the thing that always fascinates me when people come here and complain about her behaviour is that SHE'S OBJECTIVELY RIGHT about how the elves are being treated like shit, and yet every now and then, someone comes along and says she "reminds me of apologists who preach about change", while ignoring that the thing she wants changed is literal slavery. Not because she's an elf and would personally benefit from their freedom, but just because she sees how they're treated and knows it's wrong. She is a person of moral convictions, who has the courage to stand by her principles.
Would many people in-universe find her annoying? Absolutely, because she's a constant reminder that their lives are built on the subjugation and exploitation of nearly a billion people, and she's unwilling to be quiet about that fact. And it can be wearying to be around someone who's running at 100kph all the time. But she's still right.

My mod gives very detailed extra info to help avoid running into these kinds of issues.

Did you maybe try checking the wiki instead?

It says...
Multi-part event

1. Be in your room in the Morning
2. Talk option on Kali's door in the Morning
