I'm not going to be spoiling anything. But no, these girls aren't the same.
How does a character dying take away from her story at all? Does knowing a book will end stop you from reading it?
The purpose of a story is to experience it. I can understand not liking when a character dies, I wont like making her death. But that's completely different from enjoying the story part. In other words, a good villain is one you dislike.
Every girl's story will end, each one will be different. You won't be able to continue their story after it ends. So once the end comes, you will lose them. Each ending will come after the character's marriage. It will be optional to end it, as every event is optional to start.
This death isn't set in stone, so I'm not saying it will 100% happen. But I am confused as to how people can dislike a death in a movie, book, or game in a way that would make their experience bad. The only way I can think of making an experience bad is bad writing. I would love to hear your response on these topics.

For myself in a harem game part of the goal of the game is to win and keep all the girls for myself, no sharing, no ntr. Losing a character destroys the harem because you no longer have all the girls. In Dreams of Desire
I was "upset" enough that I almost didn't finish the game. Also, I have a couple of book series that I am on the last book but have yet to read because I know that when I do the story is over. I know I can re-read them but it isn't the same as the first time. When you write a character you are creating a person for the player, reader, watcher to develop a relationship with in the case of your game you are creating the relationship the player is developing is one of lovers. Even if it is just a game when someone is faced with the death of a character that they have become attached to it is obvious that they will take issue with it. Imagine learning that someone you love will die and you can do nothing about it. No amount of "good" writing can change that regret or make you feel better about the loss.
side note and the actual reason I was on here is, is there anyway we can change a character's name? (without breaking the game) One of them has the same name as my irl sister. I like a good incest game as much as the next guy but it is just weird for me to play a erotic game while being reminded of a relative and I really like and want to play yours.

People here have given me very good reasons as to why death should not be involved in a porn game (main characters, anyway) which I now agree with. No main character will die as part of her canon story.
Actually, yes! In v0.6 you'll be able to rename the girls, or rather give them pet names, when they have the Submissive trait. Thanks for reminding me, I almost forgot.

That would be the issue. Never cheat friendship, especially since you don't know what it does. If you cheat friendship, you'll never see their events. Set it back to what it was originally or restart the game.
If you're on PC, well, you shouldn't have deleted v0.4. That would also delete the saves.
If you're on Android, there is a way to delete the game, after you save your saves. But I don't know much about how to do that. They've been talking about it on the HH discord though, may want to ask there.

Question, once you introduce the Serni, Are the Elves going to get language skills for English / Elvish & Will the android get a translation module that can be purchased to help with communication between them & the MC ??
I think this could add a little more depth to the Elves & the possibility for some amusing situations
