I'm waiting for a programmer to finish some requests I made for the garden, in the mean time I am making more story, mainly with Jin. I've doubled her story content.
I am also working with Devian to make more crops for the garden. He has completed strawberries, watermelon, and is now working on raspberries
Myconids will attack your garden, Jin will defend it, and collect shroom juice from their corpses, which you have the option to collect and sell in Old Town. Normal crops can be sold at The Park.
A food drive minigame is also in the works, where you may donate food instead of selling it. Reaching milestones will reward you with tools, fertilizer, and more crops.
A system is being designed to allow Jin to randomly farm massive super crops, which sell for much more. This should happen once Jin is over her addiction and a better farmer.
Later down the line, Jin may create hybrid crops. Botany was huge culturally for the common elves before humans came along, and they actually have the lifespan to see their crops change over decades. But I'm not completely sure these last two things will be developed in v0.18, so consider them plans.
The garden is an expansion to the game bigger than any other addition, it affects almost every part of the game, so making sure it's fun is vital.

Ah yes, that's what we're all dying to see... garden content. And a new way to make more money in a game where it's already stupid easy to make a ton of money quickly.
It's cool though, at least we didn't wait over a year for this.

In fact you waited for over 2 or 3 years for the garden, it's taken a long time to program and plan for. Love to see your dedication though, I didn't think a garden in a porn game could be that serious to someone

Runey, let's be honest. The porn part of Harem Hotel is what draws people in, but it's the story, characters, and pretty much everything else that keeps us coming back every time there's an update. At this point, I don't think that Harem Hotel is a porn game, but rather a game with porn in it. None of this is a bad thing, just to be clear. I freaking love the game, and I am patiently (but excitedly) waiting for the next update. Oh I agree, I refer to it as a porn game only colloquially because that's what most people understand. I've always described HH as an AVN officially, but a strange amount of people get upset about that.

Which makes the garden game seems kinda strange to me IMO. I guess we'll see what it adds to the story but right now it seems really out of place.

Now that a new beta is released (not including the previous beta releases you ignored) and Runey's posting in the thread again, including showing off major additions to the game (the garden that's been in the works for a while), you've pivoted into a more generalist "dev criticism" stance.
Everyone else has known the update will come out whenever it's out. We've know that the entire time. It's a publicly released game, after all.
At this point you're just venting while you very impatiently wait for your favorite game (see the top half of this comment) to be released.

The people who get upset are just looking for fapping material.
People who like to read, and the popularity of Harem Hotel says that there are a lot of them, love Harem Hotel for the story.
Google is full of naughty pics that they can get for free, if they want to fap.
Harem Hotel is made for a higher class person who enjoys reading.
You're more than welcome to ask questions. The Garden will be an early source of active income, then become passive income once Jin is taken off drugs. Jin's story is tied to the garden as it gives a recovering drug addict a hobby. Some crops are planned to be consumable, such as a lust plant that increases lust to whoever you give it to, but this may be something I release in v0.19 due to it already going beyond the original scope of the garden. I've had these stories in mind for years but could not develop them due to the freelancer spending years developing and redeveloping the code. So because everything is now available to me, I've doubled Jin's story content! However it's still very buggy and doesn't work as intended yet, so we're working overtime together to get it done
I want to focus on making story content since it's what I enjoy doing most, so I pay freelancers in my community to help with things I cannot do, such as coding the computer and a making new 3D models such a plants and jewelry. Saves me as lot of time to focus on story.

Very little from my perspective. The story revolves around the hotel mostly and there's a good mix of story focused on the hotel as well as external areas.
