Let's be perfectly honest.

There are people on this site that wouldn't understand the story. Shit, they wouldn't understand some of the words let alone the plot.

Not saying that to be a bitch, i'm saying that because i've come across people on here that manage to disprove the notion that sense is common.
Sadly, too true.

...
You're not any writer. I consider myself to be quite exigent in the writing quality of media I consume as well as by working in the technical writing world, and I have nothing but praise to say about your body of work. To me, you're not "up there with the best", they're "up there wishing they were you"!

...
I second this. I've added H5 to scripts I study to learn how to write episodically. I do fine with short story, am working on a novel, have done a couple novellas, but struggle with turning a plot into episode-sized chunks from the beginning. (I usually end up writing chapters, then rearranging them after the fact, often pulling scenes out of one chapter to drop into another or swapping chapters whole.)

You know my pov on that already for some while, we will have to agree to disagree. :p Edit: To me the game and its unfolding is the reward, not the sexy bits. Those are just a part of the game for an adult game, not the prize.
This... so much this. There are porn games, and there are adult games. While I enjoy the occasional porn game, it's the adult games that keep me coming back for more. If there's no story, no arc, no world-building, no believable dialogue or setting... it's a porn game. If it's a compelling game that tells a compelling story with adult themes and graphics, it's an adult game and I'm all in.

H5 ticks all the boxes as an adult game, and, surprise! I'm all in! :D

I started a short story... it took me 3.5 years and ended up being over 600k words...
Did I mention I am not good at short and to the point?

But unless you are doing a kinetic novel, game writing is another beast entirely, factoring in player choice can be daunting for some, and the more options you give, the more branches you might need (depending on how much influence the player is to have on the world).

This is why I started a timeline. It's good to plan as much as you can out ahead of time.

Overkill I know, but I'm using MS Project (and other similar software) for my timeline/storyboard!

Nice, I started to use something like Mind Mapper, but my right arm is disabled, and that was too much scrolling to zoom in and out to get to things, so I am just going back to my tried and true ...NOTEPAD!!!! :eek:

I have LOTS of pieces of paper scattered about, but I also use my phone to take notes when I think of them, that's synced with OneNote, which is synced with Project and OneDrive. o_O

That is one of the advantages of not going anywhere, I am almost always here when I need to make a note ...now getting to the right window before the thought it gone, that is another story!!!

I'm um... using Excel spreadsheets... and copious .txt files. In a perfect world I could write the damn thing in Scrivener, but it's just not worth my time to come up with some kind of way to get Scrivener to spit out properly formatted Python to do that.

I've got spreadsheets too, it's all linked! I'm sure if it was sentient, it would take over the world! Well, maybe not the world, perhaps a small village! :unsure:

As long as you have good organization you can even use naming schemes of files to break things up and keep things straight.

Chapter1.txt is only chapter 1, Maggy1-3.txt is all the special bits or text for maggy in chapters 1-3. etc.

If you just need short reminders, something like a story board works. Also note taking apps like onenote or evernote and saving everything to dropbox with folder structures.

While I agree that more lewd pictures would probably attract a crowd... it's precisely the kind of knuckle-dragging crowd that wouldn't appreciate the game and become the infestation that sadly infects many a thread on this forum. :( So it has to be a delicate balance between "come and have a butchers at these knockers!" and "please peruse the tittays we have on offer in this fine adult game." :)

[...]
Yeah it can be achieved. There are quite a few other games around here which proves this is possible, having reached a balance of lewdness and story that turned the game more popular. Like:
Claire's Quest;
Seeds of Chaos;
Good Girl Gone Bad;
Depraved Awakening;
Acting Lessons;
Become a Rock Star.

I had something like that with my first game idea, a lot of macros in a word doc to even set up the indentations, section #, even a table of contents that was auto generated. It was then all linked through Visual Studio, so we could sync our work up when we made updates.

Which makes me wonder... why am I not using gitlab or bitbucket to stash this? (Won't use github because I don't want it publicly available, but I think I can do private repos in gitlab and/or bitbucket.)

At the time, I was trying to gather a team, so that was a good plan, though yeah, not fond of the public factor, never was a fan of 'cloud'. :LOL:
Have to look into those others when I get that other game restarted, for this one, it's closer to a solo project, so less need for that.

This is why I use OneNote, I can access it from anywhere and on any device, but it's private unless I want to share it with someone! :)

I just wish I was at Notty's level when it came to storyboarding! :love::)
