Morning Chaps.*
*lights a smoke and starts replying*
I was told chapter 2 will come out this sunday, is it true?
Afraid not. Chapter two is due at the end of this month.
Hmm well, player perspective might be something you could put up as a poll on your Patreon? So you would know if it would be worth the effort to have the MC fully rendered in such situations.
Not a bad idea actually. Thanks. I mean there are obviously some scenes where it's essential for the MC's bits and pieces to be in view. Others less so. But my guiding rule on images is that they have to conform to a) does it help the story b) is it sexy c) does it pass my (perhaps low) quality threshold. In the case we're talking about it failed c) and the clock was ticking...
Is there any guide or need for one, because I've read from page 5 to 8 and don't seem to see any mention of one.
No guide I'm afraid, but for this chapter you don't really need one. Well, I don't think so any way, but then I would
Following your development of this game I'm really glad how it turned out, the dialogue was great and characters diverse and interesting and most importantly MC wasn't a plank. The scenes in the ship had that comfy claustrophobic feel, also Chris turned out to be the goddess I imagined her to be the moment she brought interest to me to this game in the first place. Good job mate.
Thank you so much!
I'm glad you got to see it out in the wild after all of those months of me faffing around with it
I think the radio chatter is helpful for world building. I personally like it and I appreciated the scene. The scene itself hearkens back to older movies from the 80's and 90's where there would be scenes like that during the first act to help ease the audience into the setting. In more modern movies those scenes tend to be considered wasteful as they don't progress the story or any character development. Those same modern movies always seemed rushed to me without scenes like this to let the movie breath a little.
I hear you on condensing the chatter so the scene doesn't drag and only about 1% of your audience would even notice. Using Actual without a ship title still bothers me but I'm sure I'll get over it. Technically there are two Actuals in that scene alone. The captain of the Intrepid is Intrepid Actual and Chris is Vanguard Actual. Any other ship in the hangar bay also has an Actual and any ship just flying by on the same radio frequency, or landed on the nearby planet or flying through the atmosphere, would also have an Actual. Just saying Actual on an open frequency has the potential to cause a lot of confusion. But then again having everyone strip down during a forced landing makes me see the benefits of completely disregarding proper protocols so it's all good.
Thanks Steve. As I've said, I really had some doubts over both scenes. I mean -I- liked them but...well, you just never know what others will think until they see it of course.
in space noone can hear your panties fall....
*giggles*
Because in space, no one can hear you moan...
...except for the other people in the shuttle...
..they can probably hear it...cause the bulkheads are thin.
....and in the case of a "V" class also largely open plan...
The only split is that you can't get the Annie "sexual act" and then Chadwick inviting to "train" you in one play through.
Though if you you get invited to a drink with Annie, and then take the space walk, the consequences of that sexual act play out anyway, so no big loss if you don't do it.
Absolutely. There's usually more than one route to be able to get to major scenes. A design choice on my part so that the player can play as feels right for them yet not be locked out of content purely because they didn't do X at time Y whilst holding a small fish or whatever. I don't want the player to feel they -have- to play in a certain way or do certain things to progress.
Now obviously there are some exceptions to that. Sarah being the most obvious case where, for example, if you go down the blackmail route with her you can't really expect her to ask you to play VR games with her etc. But by and large, it holds good your relationship status depending of course.
Just checked this out. I am totally in for the second coming of Vasquez. Definitely one of the best first version releases I've played. The writing is surprisingly good, and clearly a lot of time and thought went into developing a universe with the planet, alien and crew information. The renders are very good, I'm a big fan of the varied and realistic body types. Very impressive, I'll definitely be following this, possibly even becoming a patron assuming future releases actually come and the quality stays high.
Thank you so much
I'm so pleased people are enjoying this and thank you for the kind words. As to future releases, chapter two is, in my opinion (bias alert!) much stronger than chapter one as I don't have to do so much introduction. Certainly I had a lot more fun writing it! As to the spoiler well....*wiggles eyebrows* Any comment on my part would ruin the first scene of the next chapter so I'd best keep quiet
That's because she's a frackin Cylon.
So is it just me or does anyone else get a Boomer vibe from Battlestar Galactica from her.
Oh surely not. That would mean that Annie would end up shooting the main charac.....oh...
