So your saying that women/Females don't mind all the touchy feely things - funny I've asked more than a dozen women I know and they all say they would not shower in a communal shower without the curtains drawn and certainly not in front of either a male or female so the author has this entirely wrong
Also a women bi or not is not going to get a heterosexual women to convert to a lesbian affair any easier than a brother would be able to get his sister into bed - nor would he want to - and when he found out the comms officer / ensign was his sister the bet would be off - the Dev should allow that to happen as well as the brother should be able to warn his sister about the sick Chris's intensions so I don't see your argument that there aren't any lesbians there
Hopefully Kelly sticks to her beliefs and tells Chris to go jump in a lake - and by the way screwing a women or a man is CHEATING for any man or women who is married

Lots of women are willing to shower in front of other women, and lots of men are willing to shower in front of other men. Have you never played sports?
There are plenty of heterosexual women who have had sexual experiences with other women, usually just making out and getting a little touchy with each other. And, from what I know most girls probably watch lesbian porn more than straight porn.
I agree that a the male MC would have a nearly impossible time getting his own sister into bed under normal circumstances, but the point of this story is that there is supposed to be something about this planet that is affecting their minds, which is why the protagonist's sister is acting all crazy in the first place.
It's said that Chris and her husband have split up, but are not officially divorced because Chris is petty and trying to punish him as long as she can. There is no 'cheating' if you've broken up.
Lastly, this is a FICTIONAL story that will contain lots of exciting sex scenes. As a writer, if you approach this kind of story with a perfectly logical mind, you will write a very boring, bland, and an unexciting story that no one cares about. Balancing logic with creativity can be difficult, but it's done quite well in this story so far.
Military also commonly uses communal showers; these are primarily military characters. Not to mention there's no reason to assume American cultural values here. The dev isn't American and I don't think any of the characters are supposed to be. Nudity is much more common elsewhere. And this is in the future so who knows what other cultural shifts have happened.
You're entitled to your own opinion but considering this has been cooking since Ch. 1 (stripping down when the shuttle overheats) it's tough to argue you shouldn't have seen this kind of thing coming. And claiming "the author has this entirely wrong" is straight up false.
Some of them are American, at least Chris anyway. Mike is Canadian.

Thanks Loady for commenting on military context. I was gonna say that, but I wasn't sure if that was a legitimate thing or if I might just think that because of movies I've seen, like Starship Troopers (I wouldn't want to rely on that for military realism )
The other thing I'd like to add right now is that the fictional characters in a story are not all necessarily going to agree with what the dev actually believes in real life. We don't know what Notty thinks, we only know what Chris thinks.
You only get the bet going if you as the MC challenge Chris's opinion, so the game includes the fact that people disagree about this issue, which is definitely true in real life.
The game also includes a variety of alien conspiracy theories which may or may not come true. Annie has some pretty out there ideas about the Ophions, it doesn't mean she's right. Having a variety of characters with different perspectives means some of those characters are going to have opinions that you'd disagree with, just like in real life.
There are definitely people who think they can get a straight person into bed, I've been hit on by some of them. You can't say that perspective doesn't exist. And, of course, there are people who disagree with them.
The game containing characters that have various opinions does not mean that they're right about their opinions. We don't know yet how far Chris will get with Kelly, all we know is that Chris thinks she can get further than the MC.

Just to check whether I need be solemn and sad, or just to rethink my decision making but... the Chris romantic non-domme route basically has nothing in it for this chapter?

For a male MC, pretty much. It's the slowest of all routes and I think it needs some big story events happening to move it forward. So, maybe next chapter.
In the meantime, I'd recommend trying a female MC, as you can learn a lot more about Chris that way.

so i don't know if anyone else has had this issue but i was just trying out every path, on chapter 4 with the domme chris path she asked if i liked one of the images, after i answered the text froze so i had to click to move it on and it showed one of the girls i liked in chapter 3 and after the image had faded i'd been looped back to chapter 3 with chris in her black dress and given the post chapter 3 ending.

Okay, thanks for the suggestion. I have no attachment to the gender I play as, other than retaining my inital and thus 'honest decision making' decisions. Will consider whether my thirst for story reaches beyond my reach for a perfectly naive story.

It happens, but I don't think it will go anywhere. IMO Chris just likes to flirt with female ensigns. Not more. So without the bet, I don't really expect any development here.
No, you don't. You can also cancel it after learning the ATC's identity.

I can only say as to the very first sentence about showering -- I haven't found that to be the case with at least a fair part of my own circle. A lot of us are very comfortable being naked with each other and we even will talk about body parts and such, (not sexual relax everyone haha!) and so on... It's not necessarily as common in the shower - in terms of talking actively that way about physical body stuff, but just being naked is fine if the space doesn't have great privacy - as it's kind of hard in that context, but in say a sauna absolutely. It's not strange at all to be naked in a sauna just relaxing and talking, sometimes a towel is on/off but it's very casual.

That must be really awkward in a Nudist colony or at a Nudist beach then if all the women will only shower with other women or men if there's a curtain too seperate them.
Not to mention I guess the boys or girls group showers after Sports and games must never get used since there's no curtains?.

at larger plants, people have to shower all the time.. more or less. having worked in a large power plant, there have been rather large shower rooms, well, separated in female/male, sure, connected to the respective locker rooms. if you have a shift change, you see about 300 up to 2k people getting a shower before changing out of the work clothes; that can't be done in nicely separated "appartment" showers, as there is just no space for that. it was even more common in the older days. the modesty in it just the separation into female and male sections, also, working with eachother for a time, you get to know your colleagues anyway. one thing was certain, you won't get on the transport if smelly and full of oil-and-whatever-else stains. in larger military maintained units, this habit would be comparably similiar, and by rule and common sense, be passed down to sub units. then in space, you go with what makes sense.
