As I can surmise from the Changelog and the current version number, v0.02 is the second update since the initial one. Furthermore, looking at the first release date, this game took a year to update, and only once? Also, looking at the file size, it's not a significant update at that. Please tell me I'm not crazy, and that this isn't one of the the most entitled and disillusioned devs out there. I had a look at their Patreon; talk about having no work ethic, milking to death, and being full of themselves. This dev is giving tough competition to the likes of ICSTOR, Gumdrop and Psychodelusional.
Threatening to shut down development and abandon the game when support is not enough, is just lazy and entitled. It's clear this VN isn't a passion project for them, and they're just in it for the money. But, if you're treating this like a job and not a hobby: you gotta be responsible, have a decent work ethic, and deliver your product in a timely manner. I know VNs run on a donation subscription system, and it's the people's choice to support; but some devs think they don't owe the players anything, and take their audience for granted. People will only support a project if they like it, see promise in it, see it updated regularly, and have hope it will be completed eventually. Clearly, none of this can be seen in this VN/dev, hence the low support.
What this dev doesn't understand is, VNs are created out of passion, artistic vision, creative fulfilment, and worked on as a hobby. If a project is good and people see promise, the support will automatically come in. If the dev seems genuine, delivers on their promise, and regularly updates their VN, people will generally accept delays and setbacks. Many popular and big VNs get updated only 3-4 times a year, some only once or twice a year, but their efforts are seen in their VNs, they deliver significantly sized updates of stellar quality; so people don't mind waiting, because they have trust, which the devs helped to build.
I won't deny that I love the Incest genre, and these renders & models are some of the best I've ever seen, but that's the only good thing about this whole project. There is zero promise in this dev's whole endeavour.
Patreon exclusive VNs rarely get enough support to get by, by themselves. They need some way to market their projects/products to the public, and sites like F95Zone are the biggest reasons why AVNs are so numerous and popular. If you only update your VN once a year, people will rarely see it, and it'll quickly lose relevance, as countless other Games/VNs get updated daily. So, a good way to tell if a project is worth supporting, is by looking at the update frequency, that'll easily weed out the devs only in it for the money.
Funny how the dullest minds have the loudest voices.
