But he didn't abandon the game because it sucked. His previous game was rated 4.5 stars, most people who played it really enjoyed it and wanted it to continue.

This was his reason for stopping his last game:

"Hey everyone, I'll try my best to get the update out by the end of the month, but I'll be pausing patron next month.

I've given it a good go, I know those of you who have decided to support the project seem to really enjoy the story I'm trying to tell, but unfortunately it's unsustainable.

I think what I'm doing is worth more than the market seems to think at the moment. And to be 100% honest with all of you, I simply don't want to work on "Primal Instinct" for a few hundred dollars a month."

After this post he set the goal to $2,000 a month to continue the project. I think he was making around $300 at the time of the post. He wanted to increase his monthly earnings by $1,700 by never putting out another update.

Why wouldn't he do the same thing after another 18 months of $300-$400 of Incest copy #353343?
Arrogant and cocky ... not a good way for a dev first complete A GAME and then ask for more ... and i loved

If this was truly one of the best games on this entire site like the cheerleaders are claiming, then the dev could simply develop the game. It's not a complicated formula. Create a chapter every few months, communicate updates and plans somewhat regularly, profit. Helps if the first year or two of development offer something more than just blueballs. If the game was so amazing, the popularity and money would start to roll in just like it did with all those other top games people are mentioning.

That's not what's happening here though. We have someone begging, scamming, trying to squeeze every possible dime out of people before they even have a game. Jumping ship when something doesn't make a quick fortune, and refusing to even work until a large payment has been received, like it's the 12th century and we're commissioning armor from a fucking blacksmith. This is not what someone developing a quality project in earnest looks like. People with fully functional brains would not view this situation with optimism and hurl money at it.

And the fact is, the game isn't mind blowing at all. The renders are pretty good, but games with a render quality this good or even better are becoming increasingly common. It's not 2018 anymore. There's one single low fps animation. We have some conversations, bikini shots in a pool, one nipslip, and one handjob in about a year. Vague claims of royalty inserted into a cookie cutter household incest scenario. It's hardly deserving of the extremely vocal and aggressive fanboys, always desperate to twist a positive spin onto everything and make you ignore the reality. Yet somehow every dev, every game, no matter how unimpressive, manages to collect a handful of these people.
People that continue to support this dev are retarded. There's no other way of putting this.

was there any more content in this update? i used the i patch and it stopped where it stopped last time, so either the patch is not up to date and is stopping the rest of the game or there is no new content.

"I feel like I'm worth more than what the market seems to think at the moment." I have forgotten this little gem of a statement :ROFLMAO:

Someone is a bit confused when it comes to capitalism I think. Newsflash: It doesn't operate on feelings. You are worth what the market thinks you are worth.

Not to mention the delusions of grandeur... I can already see hints of fucked storytelling, that will start focusing on the things the majority is interested the least, while phasing out the things the majority likes the most. Just like the last "project". Even the clusterfuck of timeskips and flashbacks that makes for horrible episodic storytelling (especially at his snail pace of developing), is present here too. And patreon games are by nature episodic.

Game is great. Renders outstanding. Hope those bugs will be fixed and about chances to be abandoned, well ANY game can be abandoned in a future, even the best ones. Right now I can only surely bet on NLT Media to finish they work. Biggest games takes longer each update...

Well, if you didn't know, they are professional scammers.... You pay them money and they will defend your game

Nobody makes games where a guy fucks his mother, sisters, aunts and cousins out of passion, and whenever a dev is claiming that they do, they're lying.
Not a single dev makes games without starting with making a patreon account first, and the only mistake this guy made was that he was open about it.

You say it's greed i say it's just a legit business model. When devs don't put a cap on their earnings and start making hundred of thousands of dollars a year without adjusting to that sum of money (hire more people and pump more content) thats greed. Atleast with this guy you have all black on white.
Here's a dev without a Patreon
(1) [RPGM] - Paradise Beach [v0.2.2 BugFix] [El Tanque] | F95zone

In general I'm very pro dev and I'm the last guy that will go against any dev when the releases becomes far apart.

But this dev just completely rubbed me (and pretty much all his other fans) the wrong way. Holding your Patreons hostage to unreasonable targets are just bad for business. I'm always rooting for devs and if these guys just kept on plugging at it, they would have been MUCH more successful by now. They were already on 100 Supporters when they dropped their previous game!!

For reference: Check out this post...

and my reply
https://f95zone.to/threads/denos-city-final-backhole.36499/post-3230262

And now he is making $1149/month

Success will come if you are patient. S&M wrote very good games, but did everything they could to piss of their fans.

I have never felt so sure about anything on the forum that this game will get abandoned. There is no way that their targets will be met and they will run out of steam. There is also a massive amount of bad will between them and this community. I'm afraid there is almost nothing they can do to get their reputation back and turn this around.

As a fan of their first game, I really, really, really want them to succeed, but I'm also a realist. I have not even started playing this game... Why bother? It will not get completed...

Wow, 53 suckers are paying apx $9 per month over the last year for pretty much zero content.

If they are that desperate for some adult entertainment, then someone really needs to show these people how to work the local escort pages. Believe me... it would be money better spent, and it's a hell of a lot more honest relationship then dealing with one of these scam artist devs.

Not a game like this again. This is such an annoying game.

positive
  • Hell's good graphics and character appearance
  • the youngest girl (I don't remember the name). It could make the whole game so there would be no completely useless material that doesn’t interest and irritate. She gives mc something that others don’t. At least it cares about the MC.

Negatives

  • Fucking to be the third wheel that never gets anything.
  • Annoy it with eternal blueballs. All you get is a kick to the balls. As well as another path special end, but otherwise nothing.
  • two paths. This game immediately starts on the wrong tracks. all of these can be put on one path when there is no fetish which should be prevented or the like. At the same time, you could eliminate things that cancel each other out. With this content, no one will be able to play the game again many times, especially when nothing is given (sexual content INCLUDES MC).
  • another slut that kind of makes the mc a third wheel. If it weren’t for that, then maybe this would be more interesting. Without that other slut, maybe mc wouldn't be a third wheel.
  • that one has so much sand in his vagina. Nothing is good and at least such an annoying character maintains no interest at all.
  • game development time. This will not be completed in 50 years if we go at this pace. So the interest doesn’t stay up either.
  • Dev blackmail attitude. If not paid there will be no game. Dev doesn't just realize that the whole thing is the other way around. If the game were good and would give hell more interesting things, then there would be payers as well.

So just damn good graphics won’t save this game. If the game has nothing else to give, then at least I’ll hit this game down myself. If there were MUCH more nudes and action in the game, then maybe many things could be forgiven. As a game of "almost" no sexual content, this is full of things I can't stand. As such, this game does not carry anything. Not interested

As I can surmise from the Changelog and the current version number, v0.02 is the second update since the initial one. Furthermore, looking at the first release date, this game took a year to update, and only once? Also, looking at the file size, it's not a significant update at that. Please tell me I'm not crazy, and that this isn't one of the the most entitled and disillusioned devs out there. I had a look at their Patreon; talk about having no work ethic, milking to death, and being full of themselves. This dev is giving tough competition to the likes of ICSTOR, Gumdrop and Psychodelusional.

Threatening to shut down development and abandon the game when support is not enough, is just lazy and entitled. It's clear this VN isn't a passion project for them, and they're just in it for the money. But, if you're treating this like a job and not a hobby: you gotta be responsible, have a decent work ethic, and deliver your product in a timely manner. I know VNs run on a donation subscription system, and it's the people's choice to support; but some devs think they don't owe the players anything, and take their audience for granted. People will only support a project if they like it, see promise in it, see it updated regularly, and have hope it will be completed eventually. Clearly, none of this can be seen in this VN/dev, hence the low support.

What this dev doesn't understand is, VNs are created out of passion, artistic vision, creative fulfilment, and worked on as a hobby. If a project is good and people see promise, the support will automatically come in. If the dev seems genuine, delivers on their promise, and regularly updates their VN, people will generally accept delays and setbacks. Many popular and big VNs get updated only 3-4 times a year, some only once or twice a year, but their efforts are seen in their VNs, they deliver significantly sized updates of stellar quality; so people don't mind waiting, because they have trust, which the devs helped to build.

I won't deny that I love the Incest genre, and these renders & models are some of the best I've ever seen, but that's the only good thing about this whole project. There is zero promise in this dev's whole endeavour.

Patreon exclusive VNs rarely get enough support to get by, by themselves. They need some way to market their projects/products to the public, and sites like F95Zone are the biggest reasons why AVNs are so numerous and popular. If you only update your VN once a year, people will rarely see it, and it'll quickly lose relevance, as countless other Games/VNs get updated daily. So, a good way to tell if a project is worth supporting, is by looking at the update frequency, that'll easily weed out the devs only in it for the money.

Funny how the dullest minds have the loudest voices.

Xumeey Could you update the IC patch ?
I don't have it. Last time it was the dev who provided it to me but I'm blocked by him and can't contact him and even if I could I doubt he'd give it to me this time. Let's hope the leaker has the IC patch and posts it here.
