This is the gem from the head-and-shoulders-above-everyone-else? Another incest with mother, aunt, edgy cousin and innocent cousin? Peeking at the morning hardon, suncream massages by the pool? Rich hot people just lazying around their billionaire mansion, doing nothing?

We sure haven't seen that groundbreaking storytelling ever before!

i haven't played the other game, but from what I've heard the story of that game became convoluted, maybe he decided to get a fresh start & do it better this time.
i actually like it when devs drop shitty games in order to create something of good quality.
No need for maybes and speculation. The reason has been made known by the dev himself. And it's the exact same ($$$).

I don't know why the incest patch got removed from the OP, but it's a full-on incest. And it's not a "fan" patch
I'm curious to know why that patch was removed too.

so he decided to make another game which he hopes will make better money.

As i said if the last game was crap I'm glad he abandoned it.

But he didn't abandon the game because it sucked. His previous game was rated 4.5 stars, most people who played it really enjoyed it and wanted it to continue.

This was his reason for stopping his last game:

"Hey everyone, I'll try my best to get the update out by the end of the month, but I'll be pausing patron next month.

I've given it a good go, I know those of you who have decided to support the project seem to really enjoy the story I'm trying to tell, but unfortunately it's unsustainable.

I think what I'm doing is worth more than the market seems to think at the moment. And to be 100% honest with all of you, I simply don't want to work on "Primal Instinct" for a few hundred dollars a month."

After this post he set the goal to $2,000 a month to continue the project. I think he was making around $300 at the time of the post. He wanted to increase his monthly earnings by $1,700 by never putting out another update.

Why wouldn't he do the same thing after another 18 months of $300-$400 of Incest copy #353343?

Nah, guy doesn't make empty threats. If he did he wouldn't have stopped working on Primal Instinct which was more unique then this, imo. You can go back through his patreon and he'll post a monthly update of how much work he did.

He started work on his V.01 on December 1st and released it in July. On January 31st after 2 months of "work" "This month's workload was 29% of the set goal, which amounted to 48 renders done. That's a total of 112 renders or just over a 1/3 of the way there."

In February he did 40 renders. In March he did 40 renders. In April he did 38. So you can see that he his dead set on this stupid "I'm only gonna work a little of the month." IF this game ever gets to v.03 it will take a good 2 years before it happens. Maybe more. Who the hell is gonna support a dev that has no communication and has an attitude problem for 2 years before 3 updates comes out?

I'm not a gambling man but if I was, I would put my life savings on this game being abandoned.

Edit: This is coming from a person who supported his last project and has been closely following the development of this game for the last 7 months. I gave him a $2 this month just to see some of his posts and it will definitely be the last time I support the guy. My money can go to other developers who deserve it more.
What attitude problem? I see ppl talking about this but I have no idea what it is. All I know is that the previous work was abandoned. What was it, did he threaten to drop the project if didn't get more patrons?
If so, he's a dick. I mean, he clearly could be a top developer earning the big bucks, but chooses to do as little work as possible to just get by milking it. If he wants money that much, who's to say he won't pull go on a ICSTOR-like year long coke fueled frenzied orgy with hookers and dildos once he gets to where he believes he should be?

I don't want to go into it too much because apparently anything said about his previous game that relates to the development of this game might get deleted but you can go to the Primal Instinct game thread and look at some of the stuff in there. Basically he said that if he didn't make $2000 a month he was going to stop development on the game. He's basically doing the same thing for Heir Apparent. He wants to get to $1,200 a month for V.02 and then $1,800 a month for V.03. He will only work a percentage of the month that he makes. So if he makes $600 he'll work 15 days. He's also made it known that if people don't support his game he'll stop it.

Some of the attitude problems I'm talking about, though, are almost every single one of his patreon posts he talks about he's the greatest gift to VNs and he dogs every other developer out there. His most overused phrase is calling other games "Nightmare fuel".

I must agree if you say anything even remotely negative about this game or the developer the MOD will delete it
guessing the MOD really like this developer.
criticisms usually lead to change, censorship most often has the opposite effect.

I see. I'll take a look.

If that's the case, this game will probably never see the light of a 0.05. I mean, if the dev doesn't have anything to show, it doesn't matter how talented he is, right? In this field there's a lot of competition and a lot of very talented guys working with little to no support at all without threatening the community or anything.
I mean, even for free, why the hell would I waste my time with a game that the dev himself has no love for and will drop it with a snap?

Jesus guys. Almost all of you never spent a dime on his last game or will spend any money on this game. Why are you commenting like he owes you anything? Give it a rest maybe and see how it develops. If you don't like the way he does things there are other games you can pirate on this site.I agree that people should know he abandoned his last game to be able to judge if supporting him is worth it, but this massive witch hunt is uncalled for.

And a game is not bad just because you do not like the developer. The work is seperate from the creator. I think Orson Scott Card is a massive dick but Ender's Game is still a good book.

I'm with you on Ender's Game. It's an amazing series with a somewhat unfortunate movie. There was just too many important details in the book to keep it under 2 hours. The first book could and should be divided into 3 movies.
But I digress. I don't think we're bashing the dev and, at least IMO he can be as much as a jerk he wants and wouldn't impact me liking or not his work. What I, at least, mean to say is that it's hard to support either financially or otherwise a developer that has absolutely no attachment to his work and is known to be fickle. That's just it. I, and I believe many others could support him on Patreon, but he needs to deliver something first, not keep his creations at gun point demanding more money. That's just a very poor work ethic that won't go far. Who would support someone who could(and would) pull the plug on a game just like that?

People are just annoyed because this dev would likely reach his goals in a natural way if he just keeps at it for 4-5 updates at regular intervals. I haven't played this, nor do I plan to, but if it is his answer to the masses that likes simple incest shit, I'd imagine it would grow faster than his last game.

Instead, we have this self-fulfilling prophecy about the game being abandoned. If you come right out the gate, before anyone even gets invested under the sunk cost falacy and say "I will cancel this project if I don't make X amount of money," it won't matter how good the game is. Most people won't bother to support a project that they know will be canceled if a bunch of other people don't take the plunge with them. It's kinda like the bystander effect.

Then there is the feedback loop: less people wants to support it, which puts it farther away from the required goals, which makes it less appealing to supporters, which makes less people want to support it.

The dev straight up abandoned the last project because he didn't make enough money. So there is no guarantee that he will work on it at 18% capacity or whatever indefinitely. It could literally be cancelled any time unless somehow, despite all the odds, he reaches the goal. If he gets close to, or manages to reach the goal once, I'd imagine lot's of people would feel safer joining in, but getting there seems almost impossible due to the problems described above.

Yes, this is exactly it. Why would people waste their time and risk be invested in a story that, more likely than not, will never be finished? And who's to say that even if the dev starts reaching his payment levels he won't be more and more demanding until it becomes impossible to reach his goals?

What a pity! I liked the images and I thought I would download the game and give it a try, but after reading the comments I changed my mind. Thanks for the warning, I see you all in another game!

Indeed. The images look nice and I'll follow this in hopes that the dev changes his work ethics to a more realistic one
But, if it goes on as it is, then it's a no-go.

We all struggle to try to make a good game and get the necessary support to continue and that it is worth the time and effort invested, but I do not think that blackmailing people is the answer. Give them time, make your best effort and wish for the best too...

No one has pointed out yet why his game is a bog-standard incest game.

Ah this dev's arrogance and contempt for the people who play his games is almost mind-altering in its scope

So he wrote what he thinks was the "best game ever written" which was PI, a "complex" story that spanned centuries, reincarnation, and other fabulously contrived situations

... it gets lukewarm support. Ahe he says, these plebs are too stupid to realize my greatness,

so I will give them the low forehead stuff they can understand

and after a bit of petulant huffing and puffing

spat out a lets spy on your sister and massage your aunt story so the "morons" would like it and support him

So even the subject matter of this new game is a subtle insult to his players
